Chapter 125 - Sweep Across Five Areas (9)

A day later.

Glenn calmly halted on the ground, his eyes underneath his mask incomparably tranquil. He wasn’t the slightest bit flustered from getting caught in some large-scale magic interdiction1.

Golden rays floated up from between the valley of Claytia’s breasts forming a pink shield. Over a hundred fiery flying scorpions revolved around her, swirling in the air.

Claytia sensed the frightening power of the interdiction encompassing them and her complexion turned incomparably pale from horror. “There’s actually so many strong students in this area? Not to mention that two of those troublesome fellows from before had actually escaped from you. Ordinary students would be absolutely incapable of placing this interdiction. No wonder all of the three students had chain marks almost worth 2000 points!”

Glenn was indifferent. “This magic interdiction is indeed very marvelous. However, concealed in the interdiction waves, there should be a student that’s good at manipulating mental strength illusory mirrors.”

That’s right. To be able to make Glenn and Claytia unwittingly get caught in this interdiction, Glenn first called to mind the mental strength illusory mirror within the ruined tower2 it was similar to. Only this explanation made sense, for how else could the three students Claytia found successfully conceal their location from his hunting nose and echolocation.

But…

Nevertheless, the reason why Glenn wasn’t the slightest bit panicked was because of his inextinguishable flames toward the interdiction. The barrier was the reason for his restraint.

If only Glenn could find more than half the energy nodes for this interdiction. Then, covered with inexhaustible flames, the energy of the node would be cleanly consumed quickly by the inexhaustible flames, and this interdiction would be meaningless.

Outside the interdiction was a small team of three people.

Unexpectedly, the three students were pretty much women who looked just like Mille and Mina. It was only their hair colors that were different, their appearances distinguished by the different colors of purple, blue, and cyan.

“Big Sister, look at that woman inside the interdiction. The chain mark on her forehead—she’s actually a 12th District student!” the blue-haired female student blurted out.

The purple-haired female student ought to be the oldest among the three. After slightly sweeping her eyes across Claytia’s panic-stricken face, her gaze cast itself towards Ashen Mask Glenn. Feeling a thread of dread out of base instinct, the female student looked toward the cyan-haired girl, “Third Sister, there is still no response from the wave traces of the badge owned by the student wearing the white mask?”

The little Third Junior Sister with cyan hair was sitting upright before a 3-meters tall temporary small altar. Other than the mythical animal head dripping blood in front of her, there were two candles burning with green flames, a curved incense burning, and a pile of middle-grade magic stones arranged into a wondrous magic array.

The cyan-haired girl was firmly holding a crystal ball which was emitting intense space waves. She anxiously replied, “That female student’s badge can be triggered at any time to make her leave the Secret Mirror. However, there is no reaction as to where the masked student’s badge is. It’s not that he was stupid enough to have thrown the badge away—just that he possesses some kind of space item and has stored it in one.”

This student called Third Sister was actually a Sorcerer-Apprentice who studied space power and mysticism!

And according to their conversation, this girl could actually actively trigger other students’ badges, forcing the other students to leave the Holy Tower Tryouts Secret Mirror!

This kind of wisdom…

This kind of wisdom was practically identical to how Claytia had ingeniously used her wits to take an alternate route!

The cyan-haired girl called Third Junior Sister awkwardly looked toward the purple-haired elder sister and asked, “The Zero Boundary Stone still has six more uses. Should we first expel that female student from the Secret Mirror?”

The purple-haired female student clenched her teeth. “Let’s talk about it in a moment. That female Sorcerer-Apprentice isn’t a big problem. The crux of the problem is this student wearing the white mask. When I caught sight of him, I felt a tremble out of terror. In a moment I will use all my strength and move the interdiction. Second Sister will use mental strength bearing boundary and conceal our position well…”

Quite obviously, this sorcerer ability to actively trigger badges of other Sorcerer-Apprentices had extreme restrictions. It required an altar, mysticism, the application of in-depth knowledge of space, offerings, and the ones using this method needed to be passively in sync, as well as a medium called Zero Boundary Stone.

Inside the interdiction.

Suddenly, lightning fell from the sky, scaring Claytia to the point where she was about to use some kind of sorcery to block this bolt of thunder. However, Glenn was a step ahead and pulled Claytia to a stop. Space twisted in an empty area where the bolt of lightning struck.

Following the crack of thunder, a wide expanse of black soil exploded as the electric sparks dispersed.

“One,” Glenn muttered to himself as he appeared in the distance.

Glenn’s eyes underneath the Ashen Mask noted the location of an energy node, before he looked toward another direction where the earth intermittently trembled. Over ten earth giants that were 2-meters in height slowly rose out of the ground, standing. Without exception, heads were firmly shaken before a vast stretch of dust fell. Following that, their feets sunk into the ground as they charged toward Glenn and Claytia while making rumbling noises.

“Two,” Glenn once again murmured to himself.

At this moment, violent magic waves surged from the left side, after which fierce wind and fire elements appeared at the same time. Subsequently, under the pull of some kind of abstruse force, they gradually combined together and formed a 7-to-8 meter high fire tornado!

Even Glenn couldn’t prevent his eye from twitching upon witnessing this high-level difficult assist-type sorcery. But he still mumbled to himself a single phrase, “Four is enough.”

At the moment Claytia saw the fire tornado appear, she tightly grasped her badge while looking at Glenn with alarm. She asked, “Now what’s to be done? This magic interdiction simply is not something an ordinary Sorcerer-Apprentice is capable of arranging. It’s absolutely a super-interdiction a student specialized in studying interdictions prepared and customized for this Holy Tower Tryouts. It goes so far as to have four types of elemental attribute variations and also this kind of highly powerful assist style combination sorcery. Perhaps only if you use that one move to attempt to open the interdiction…”

Glenn softly shook his head. “The Fire Blast Spell consumes a lot from me. I have a simpler way to destroy the interdiction.”

Saying this, Glenn surprisingly warped space before taking Claytia and disappearing from where they originally were. Space was distorted for several more times, whereafter he used the inextinguishable flames and separately arranged them at the energy nodes all over the place.

Sorcerers’ magic interdictions were divided into war magic interdictions and individual magic interdictions.

Among war magic interdictions and individual magic interdictions, the largest point of difference rested with the energy nodes.

Even if the two types of magic interdictions both had energy nodes forming the points of a six-pointed star as a foundation and it seemed only six energy nodes were needed, every energy node in war magic interdictions were six more magic array foundations to further supply energy. In other words, war magic interdictions had a minimum foundation of 36 energy nodes.

On the other hand, individual magic interdictions used energy to attack but only had six energy nodes. The only difference was how some magic stones contained different amounts of energy.

The reason for speaking so much about the distinction between magic interdictions was because Glenn wanted to use the inexhaustible flame properties to destroy the supplied energy nodes. It was necessary to simultaneously arrange the inextinguishable flames on half the energy nodes within, so as to be able to disturb and absorb the magic array of the interdiction, while not letting the magic array destroy the elemental power.

*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*

Lightning strikes one after another fiercely pursued Glenn and Claytia. Glenn simply did not feel like paying attention to the lumbering earth giants. Even though the offensive power of the fire tornado was great, it was nevertheless unsuitable for battles with individuals—it was clearly a kind of spell meant for group combat.

Suddenly, Claytia was pleasantly surprised. “It worked. The earth element giants and fire tornado are dissipating!”

“Yeah.”

Glenn merely stared at the blazing inextinguishable flames surging violently everywhere and rising to directly meet the radiant boundary. He knew right away that this magic array was broken and it was nothing more than the magic stone’s remaining magic strength from the opposite side.

“Ah…”

The pleasantly surprised Claytia was just about to say something when her expression abruptly changed. She only had the time to cry out loudly before space distorted and she disappeared from the Holy Tower Tryouts Secret Mirror.

What?

Glenn expression suddenly changed, not daring to believe what happened. “Forcibly activating the chain mark badge in another person’s possession? This! This is practically customized especially for the Holy Tower Tryouts Battle—there is actually a ‘cheat’ sorcery like this? However, why only make Claytia…”

Glenn then recalled that his own badge was right inside a single-use space pocket at the moment. Could it be the opponent was unable to get a reaction from items inside space pockets?

Slightly relaxing in one breath, Glenn couldn’t refrain from lamenting internally. When it came to sorcerers, as expected, being peerless was important!

Of course, also having luck…

If at that time, Glenn hadn’t thrown the badge into the space pocket and instead placed it on his body, maybe he’d have had no other choice but follow after Claytia and have “departed” the Secret Mirror by now. Even though Glenn’s frightening amount of points could still guarantee Glenn qualify for being a reserve Demon-Hunter, there was an awfully good chance that he would have let the highest reward slip away.

Because so long as Glenn lost half his accumulated points, the student that obtained half of his points would inevitably have more points than Glenn.

If that had happened, Glenn who wanted to get the top reward could only have prayed that the student who got his points would be banished from the Secret Mirror by others.

A moment later, the magic interdiction within the inextinguishable flames dissipated. The three sisters who did not have strong fighting strength actually broke their badges without the slightest hesitation and left the Secret Mirror.

Looking at it from a certain angle, they really suited ougi sorcerers more!

Still, if ingenuity combined together…

Glenn gazed behind himself at the completely empty area where Claytia was no longer there.

Shaking his head, Glenn also no longer cared about looking for some 300 point badges because all students that had more than 100 points looked the same in Glenn’s eyes; all their chain marks were pitch-black as ink.

A nightmarish incident took place in the 11th District forest of obelisks. Glenn, resembling a serious and single-minded cleaner, began to meticulously and attentively tidy up this area which was once similar to the beginning civilization of an inexhaustible world, causing this seemingly flourishing 11th District—containing crouching tigers, hidden dragons—to rapidly enter an age of nightmares and sink into decay.
