nChapter 112: Holy Crap, This Works Too? (Part one)

nAfter Xu Cheng put all 10 dice into the cup, he tried to shake it too, but he wasn’t careful enough and two dice flew out. It turned out that Xu Cheng knew nothing about dice-shaking, and the crowd was immediately shocked speechless by this turn of events.

nThank god Shen Yao didn’t show that she was with Xu Cheng, or she would be so embarrassed that she would try to dig a hole into the ground to hide.

nXu Cheng indeed didn’t have a clue on how to shake the dice cup, or he wouldn’t have proposed this kind of “guess your number” game.

nWhen he put the dice back into the cup, he started shaking again and this time, at least no dice came out.

nHowever, this also exposed that he was a newbie, and Qianye Zhenyi who had been extremely worried was now relieved. Immediately, he began to focus on listening for how the dice were rolling inside Xu Cheng’s cup.

nTo be honest, 10 dice rolling around at the same time was extremely hard to listen for, and he was also not 100% confident with his guess. But, according to the rule, he could win as long as he was within 2 above or below the correct value. If he could win this round, then he could at least drag it onto the second round. He still optimistically believed that Xu Cheng got his answer right by luck.

nBut, suddenly, his ears began hearing complicated sound frequencies inside the cup, and when Qianye Zhenyi immediately looked up and towards Xu Cheng, he shockingly realized that he couldn’t see Xu Cheng’s shaking motion clearly at all.

nThat’s right, with his ultra-fast hand speed, Xu Cheng significantly sped up the rolling and bouncing frequencies of the dice inside the cup.

nSeeing Qianye Zhenyi’s eyelids twitching, Xu Cheng faintly smiled, and his eyes were looking at him as if he was saying, “You wanna listen? You wanna listen, right? Let’s see if you can still track my dice when I shake it 5 times per second and make the dice’s movements become more and more drastic inside the cup. Give it a listen, I don’t believe you can guess any of them right.”

nThis was what Xu Cheng was planning. He didn’t know how to shake dice, so he would definitely lose if Qianye Zhenyi wanted to shake dice to compete for the smallest or largest value. However, Xu Cheng could play this guessing game. Firstly, his vision could penetrate the cup and see the exact face value of the dice. Then, his super fast hand speed could interfere with Qianye Zhenyi’s hearing. Together, he was definitely going to win this.

nThe more Qianye Zhenyi listened, the more he felt like his brain was going crazy with all the nonsense his ears were picking up. Immediately, he began sweating beads again.

nXu Cheng suddenly stopped and slammed the cup onto the table. Then, removing his hand from the table, he looked at Qianye Zhenyi and said, “You can guess now.”

nQianye Zhenyi’s whole brain was like congee right now, what was he going to guess? He couldn’t make any guess at all, that frequency completely facked him up.

nSeeing Qianye Zhenyi covered in sweat, Master Qin frowned as he came over and asked, “What happened?”

n“I…” Qianye Zhenyi didn’t know what to say… He was really anxious with all these people watching, and he didn’t want to answer Xu Cheng’s question and humiliate himself, because he couldn’t make any confident guess at all…

n“Hurry up, what’s the answer!” many spectators from the crowd began shouting.

nShen Yao immediately led the crowd and shouted, “Were you just boasting about your skills earlier? Mr. Qianye, could it be that you bought your reputation in the gambling community?”

n“How’s that possible!” Qianye Zhenyi shouted, “Who in the gambling industry doesn’t recognize my dice skills?”

nShen Yao: “Then why aren’t you answering?”

nQianye Zhenyi closed his eyes and tried to calm himself down. Then, using his past experience, he made a rough guess. After awhile, he finally opened his mouth, “I guess 35.”

nXu Cheng immediately lifted the cup, but the dice inside turned out to be 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 5, 5, 6.

nChapter 112: Holy Crap, This Works Too? (Part two)

nSeeing the dice, Xu Cheng smiled and said, “31 in total, even if I give or take 2 from your answer, your guess is still not close enough. Mr. Qianye, you lost.”

nQianye’s face was already as pale as could be as he looked at the table in disbelief.

nHe didn’t expect at all to lose to a rookie with no reputation on such a formal occasion.

n“No, no, you couldn’t have accurately guessed my dice. It must’ve been luck!”

nAt that moment, some people began mocking him, “Are you dumb? You can guess the final value purely by luck, but Mr. Xu got every single dice correct! How’s that luck? If you can’t accept defeat, then don’t play. What the fack are you trying to say now?”

n“Yeah, and you shamelessly came over to our country saying you are a master with dice, but you couldn’t even guess the total value. A master? I think you are more of a clown.”

nQianye Zhenyi was furious, and he glared at those audience members and then stared back at Xu Cheng with bloodshot eyes. “I’m not convinced! You just got lucky, so it doesn’t count!”

nThe audience was immediately against him. “Shameless.”

nQianye Zhenyi’s face was as thick as his dice skills, and he wasn’t fazed by the disdain of the crowd at all.

nXu Cheng asked, “Okay, then what do you propose we play so luck doesn’t play a factor but only skill does?”

nQianye Zhenyi snorted, “Let’s compete in shaking the dice to get the biggest or smallest value! That has always been the right way to decide who’s better! The guessing game is too dependent on luck, there’s no skill involved at all.”

nXu Cheng shrugged his shoulders. “Sure, then let’s see who can get the smallest value, how’s that?”

nQianye Zhenyi, “I was going to say that too. How many dice do you want to play with?”

nXu Cheng: “Let’s just do 5.”

nThen, Qianye Zhenyi immediately ate all 5 dice with his cup and began shaking nonstop.

nWhat was really killing Shen Yao was, Xu Cheng still put the dice into the cup one by one to shake.

nThe two people showed no intention of stopping, and although their eyes were locked, Qianye Zhenyi’s ears were already focused on what was going on inside his cup. Finally, both of them slammed their cups onto the table.

nXu Cheng: “You can go first.”

nQianye Zhenyi lifted the cup, and everyone just saw 5 dice stacked on top of each other, and the one on top was a one. When Qianye Zhenyi removed the dice one by one from the top, every dice was a one.

nOn his side, Master Qin laughed satisfyingly and said, “Each dice is a one, making the total five, the smallest you can get.”

nXu Cheng interrupted him, “Wait, why’s five the smallest?”

nMaster Qin stared at him with the “are you kidding me” expression and replied, “The smallest value of each dice is 1, and there are five. What’s the smallest total value if not 5?”

nThe crowd also thought Master Qin was right.

nHowever, at that moment, Xu Cheng lifted his cup and said, “This should be the smallest.”

nWhen the crowd came close, they just saw that all the dice had been shaken into powder form. There was no dice anymore… Everyone took in a cold breath.

nXu Cheng smiled, revealing his teeth, and said, “Mine is 0 in total. Sorry, it’s smaller than yours, so I’m the winner again.”

nMaster Qin glared right at him. “What the fack is this? There’s no dice anymore, how’s that possibly allowed?”

nXu Cheng directly pointed at Qianye Zhenyi and said, “If he’s such a pro, get him to shake the dice into powder too! If he’s not capable of doing that, then just accept defeat. Nowhere in the rules does it say that 5 is an automatic winner, so I just want to ask you two, do you have the balls to accept defeat?”

nPoooof!

nQianye Zhenyi coughed up blood from his throat.

nHoly fack, this works too?

n
