nLevel 4 Matcha had a new ability branch which Zhao Yao could choose from.
nThe first ability was Time Explosion. Every day, it allowed Zhao Yao to double the duration of the longest time freeze once.
nThe second power was Time Distortion. This allowed Zhao Yao to recover from the injury he had sustained completely. However, it could only be activated once per day. It could also be activated passively if Zhao Yao died.
nZhao Yao knew the danger present in Jiangmen City and immediately chose Time Distortion. Even if he were killed by someone from the cat thief organization, he would automatically be revived. It was as good as a game bug.
nZhao Yao was exhilarated to have this power; it was as good as having two lives.
nZhao Yao felt so much more confident to deal with the bad guys in Jiangmen City after acquiring the power.
n“Hmm, I should probably use Matcha’s ability for the majority of the time, since it can guarantee my safety. The other abilities should be left to Elizabeth and Dust Ball to control.”
nAfter the series of upgrades, Zhao Yao had acquired time distortion, “two is better than one” from Elizabeth, increased the capacity and reach of Dust Ball’s extradimensional belly, and upgraded Dust Ball to level 3.
nThis series of updates had made Zhao Yao far stronger than before.
nZhao Yao could not help but laughed when he saw the loyalty level on the BOOK.
nDust Ball’s loyalty was a meager 30 points, and both Matcha and Elizabeth’s loyalty had dropped by three points. This was possibly due to the shower saga.
nZhao Yao treated this very seriously as it would affect the success rate of Zhao Yao activating the cats’ power.
nZhao Yao understood that the cats would be somewhat depressed after their baths. Hence, he decided to cheer them up by rewarding them with some canned food. He hoped that his bribery would be able to salvage the loyalty points lost.
nElizabeth and Matcha rushed over to Zhao Yao, eagerly anticipating the canned food in his hands.
nThey have grown sick of eating cat rice every day and were excited to see a change.
nEven though cat rice was beneficial for their health, it was natural for them to grow sick of it. The canned food in his hands immediately bought over Matcha and Elizabeth’s hearts.
nMatcha instantly devoured the contents of the canned food.
nElizabeth muttered as she polished off the food. A crisp and clear voice rang in Zhao Yao’s head, “Don’t think I have forgiven you for just this food. I abhor bath. If you ever make me do it again, I’m going to control you and make you run around naked.”
n“Eat slowly, have you forgotten about your glass stomach?”
nSeeing the contented looks on their face turned Zhao Yao’s lips into a smile. The loyalty points for both Matcha and Elizabeth had both reverted to 100.
n“It’s so easy to bribe them. Even though Elizabeth would not admit it, she had already forgiven me,” Zhao Yao thought as he glanced over to Roly Poly and Dust Ball which were on the side.
nRoly Poly was genuinely uninterested in the canned food, but he was not Zhao Yao’s target.
nDust Ball was still angry over Zhao Yao’s actions and was unwilling to come over. However, Zhao Yao knew how to handle it when he saw her nose twitched from time to time.
nHe brought over the turkey mutton can and presented it to Dust Ball.
nDust Ball was extremely fidgety, and it was evident that she had a difficult time controlling her body.
nZhao Yao placed the can right below her nose and stared at Dust Ball, “You don’t feel like eating?”
nDust Ball glared at him which reminded Zhao Yao of a pit viper’s slit-like pupils. After taking in a few deep breaths, the anger which emanated from her eyes intensified.
nZhao Yao shook his head and understood that Dust Ball was still throwing a tantrum and was unwilling to eat it in front of Zhao Yao. Hence, he left the canned food there and left.
nAfter Zhao Yao’s departure, Dust Ball tried to control itself for another one or two minutes. However, she gave up and swallowed everything inside the can. She was so happy that she grinned from ear to ear.
nZhao Yao was hiding behind the door when the scene unfolded. He went to check his BOOK but was disappointed to find out that her loyalty had only increased by one point.
n“This is too slow,” Zhao Yao scratched his chin as he remarked. He thought, “I must come up with something to find out what Dust Ball likes.”
nHe then fished out the old phone which Matcha used. Since Zhao Yao changed to his new iPhone, he had passed his current phone over to Matcha. Currently, no one was using Zhao Yao’s old phone. Zhao Yao decided to hand it over to Dust Ball and taught her how to operate the phone.
nHowever, Dust Ball did not seem interested in the phone. After using for a while out of curiosity, she gave up on the phone and started playing with Mango.
nCompared to Matcha and Elizabeth which were domestic cats, stray cats like Dust Ball preferred sports and outdoor activities.
nZhao Yao pondered over Dust Ball’s possible interests.
nThe next day, Zhao Yao brought the cats to the cat café. He began assembling the newly-delivered automatic self-cleaning cat litter box with Shi Yu.
nThere was a few more furniture which would be coming in today. Once they were in, Zhao Yao could open the café for business the next day.
nShi Yu asked Zhao Yao while she was cleaning the countertop, “Baiquan … does he know about the existence of supercats?”
nZhao Yao thought about it and replied, “Hmm, he doesn’t. You can just treat him like a regular cleaning lady.
n“Huh?” Shi Yu continued, “In that case, you need to give him a salary.”
n“Nope, he’s a very kind-hearted individual. He volunteered to do this,” Zhao Yao replied. He had never considered giving Baiquan a salary.
nSince inviting him over the previous time, Zhao Yao had lent Roly Poly’s power of invisibility to him every day. The confidence Baiquan had in Zhao Yao allowed Zhao Yao to transfer even more power as the day passed.
nAs long as Baiquan reported to work, Zhao Yao would technically have an assistant who possessed the power of invisibility.
nEven though they had made a pact never to commit any crimes with his power, Zhao Yao was confident Baiquan would be able to earn some money without doing anything illegal.
nSuddenly, the doorbell rang, and a red-haired woman entered. She wore a gold-rimmed glass, and her waist was as thick as a water barrel.
nZhao Yao raised his head and replied, “I’m so sorry, but we only open for business starting from tomorrow.”
n“It’s okay, I’m just here to take a look,” the red-haired woman pushed open the gate and entered the hall as if it were her café.
nZhao Yao commented, “I’m so sorry, but you have to put on the shoe covers before entering.”
nThe woman seemed a little annoyed and said, “My shoes aren’t dirty, I don’t think there is a need to put on the shoe covers.”
nA frown appeared on Zhao Yao’s face as he retorted, “You will pollute the environment in the café. Go and put on the shoe cover before you enter.”
nThe woman finally relented, albeit a little unwillingly, as she walked back and put on the shoe covers from the cabinet.
nZhao Yao continued, “There is some hand sanitizer on the cabinet. You also have to disinfect your hands.”
nThe woman groaned and mumbled, “How troublesome.”
nMeanwhile, Zhao Yao thought, “It seems like I have to install a lock on the gate.”
nThe woman walked around the hall and looked at the cats which were crawling along the kitty expressway and playing in the kitty tower. She nodded her head and asked, “Oh, so customers can have a cup of coffee while playing with the cats.”
nShi Yu sensed that Zhao Yao was getting a little impatient and replied on his behalf, “Yes. You can play with the cats as long as you order one cup of drink.”
nThe woman continued nodding her head and commented, “I also have cats at home. However, the cats at your café are all stray cats. There are only a handful of pedigrees. What’s so fun about this?”
nZhao Yao seemed irritated by her response as Shi Yu laughed awkwardly and replied, “They are all rather affectionate, they are as affectionate as pedigrees.”
nThe woman did not seem to agree with Shi Yu’s words as she walked towards the bar counter and saw the menu on the wall.
nShe gasped and commented, “It’s so expensive. This is as good as daylight robbery.”
n
