nYang Shao had made up his mind to follow Li Ran. He refused to let her go alone.
nLi Ran did not argue with him. She simply nodded and got out of the car. After that, she took the car keys and locked the door.
n
n
nLin Hua was stunned. She smiled helplessly at Zhao Ying and asked, “If she locks the car, then wouldn’t we be sitting ducks if there’s any danger?”
nZhao Ying shook her head and replied with certainty, “This car is very sturdy. It’s much safer on the inside.”
n“What if they don’t come back? Are we going to starve to death? Our food is limited.”
nLin Hua’s volume was very low and with Wang Gang snoring in front, Zhao Ying did not hear her clearly. She only heard half of what she said.
n
n
n“We can look for more food if we run out.”
nLin Hua blinked and nodded. She took a bottle of mineral water from the back and opened it. Then, she took a sip. It made her feel really refreshed. After that, she did not say anything else.
nWhen Li Ran was walking, she suddenly felt something grabbing her from behind. Before she could react, Yang Shao had already slapped it away. Subsequently, he took out a knife and stabbed it to death.
nWhen Li Ran turned around, she saw that it was actually a rat the size of a shoe. The sight stunned her.
n
n
nYang Shao sighed.
n“This is not a rat, right? I’ve never encountered such a big one.”
nLi Ran looked at it carefully and said in a low voice, “It has all the features of a rat. If it’s not a rat, then what is it? ”
n“Maybe it’s mutated.”
nYang Shao could not think of any other explanation.
nThe both of them walked towards the building. They found a back door. It should lead them to the laboratory.
n
n
nLi Ran opened the door with a gentle push.
nThere was an elevator inside!
nHowever, there was no electricity, so the elevator was unusable.
nYang Shao thought about what Lin Nan said. He did not mention anything about an elevator!
n“Is he even familiar with this place?” asked Yang Shao as he laughed bitterly.
n“Probably not. He doesn’t work here.”
nLi Ran looked around the place. She tried to find a backup power source but to no avail.
nThere was no other way to enter further into the building other than through the elevator.
n
n
nThey were really in a dilemma.
nYang Shao tilted his head and said, “Why don’t we look for another way to get in?”
n“Yea, that sounds like a good idea.”
n“Let’s go. We’ll try going through the gate instead.”
nYang Shao turned and left without any hesitation.
nThe two of them arrived at the gate.
nThey did not encounter any zombies along the way.
nBoth of them were confused.
n“Don’t you think this place is weird? What are those black dots on the ground? I have a bad feeling about them,” said Yang Shao with a frown on his face.
nThere was a large flower bed in front of the gate. The black dots were on the ground around the flower bed.
nAs for the gate, it had a very modern design and was made out of glass. One could see the interior of the building from the outside.
nThe two of them took a look inside and instantly stopped in their tracks.
nThere was a bloody corpse standing upright.
n
n
nThe deceased’s eyes were popping out from his eye sockets. His body was full of scratches and covered in blood.
nSome of his body parts were exposed. His ribs could be seen because a chunk of his flesh was torn out. There were also missing limbs.
nThis person’s death was truly miserable.
nYang Shao pursed his lips and took a deep breath.
n“Was this person killed?”
n
