nLi Ran got out of the mysterious space. The air was filled with dust. She took a breath and began coughing violently. It took her a while to get used to it.
nShe decided to grab a mask from the mysterious space and put it on.
n
n
nThe aftermath of the bombing had been cleaned up but a few body parts that had been blown to pieces were still scattered all over the place.
nLi Ran felt nauseous and almost threw up. She frowned and tried her best to not look at the gruesome scene.
nUnfortunately, she could not avoid the stench of decay. Li Ran’s entire body shivered. In the end, she could not hold it and ended up vomiting. She bent down and vomited for a long time. Then, she stood up and wiped her tears. After that, she rinsed her mouth with some water. Only then did Li Ran feel a little bit better.
nThere was no one in sight. One could easily guess what had happened.
n
n
nShe observed her surroundings intently because she was afraid that zombies might still be around. It seemed that the coast was clear so she quickly walked towards the door.
nNo zombies were spotted but the desolation of this place was clearly on display.
nFrom time to time, she would come across corpses that had seemed to die tragically. Some of them were badly mutilated, with broken or missing limbs.
nNot a single living person could be found.
n
n
nLi Ran managed to exit the base.
nThe sun was blazing. Just by standing outside, Li Ran felt like she was being boiled alive. She kept fanning herself with her hands.
nThere was a large area with burn marks. She could vaguely tell that quite a commotion had happened in the base. After all, zombies rarely gather in this area.
nLi Ran was sure that she was the only one left in the base.
nShe tightened her mask and turned around to re-enter the safety base. If she wanted to go anywhere, she would need a car. That was very unrealistic at the moment.
nSuddenly, she remembered something and went straight to the military area. There was a place where cars were usually parked. They were assets for those who went out to collect supplies. Most of them were big trucks and the smallest vehicles were minivans. Regular cars were pretty rare.
n
n
nWhen Li Ran arrived, she found out that most of the vehicles were gone. The lots were empty. All the big trucks were gone. Only a minivan and a shabby car were left.
nLi Ran mumbled to herself, praying that the car would still function. Otherwise, she would need to look for another vehicle.
nLuck was not on her side. There was a malfunction in the car and it would not startup.
nShe let out a long sigh and got out of the car dejectedly.
nLi Ran had no other choice and could only leave this place to look for another car along the roadside.
nAfter leaving the safety base, she was at a loss and had no idea where she should go.
nShe tried to jog her memory and headed towards the road where she came from.
nTo begin with, this place was already quite desolated. With the explosion, not a single living soul was left.
n
n
nLi Ran walked in a monotonous manner. She had no motivation at all.
nSubsequently, she decided to enter the mysterious space.
nOnce she was inside, Li Ran immediately accessed the dynamic trading center. At the upper right corner, there was a search bar and input the word “car”.
nLi Ran blinked her eyes. It was really unexpected! There were a total of three hundred pages of results!
nShe was overjoyed and began browsing.
nHowever, when she saw how many pink stones were needed, her happiness instantly disappeared.
nThere was no mistake. They cost millions. The 20,000 pink stones she had were simply not enough.
nLi Ran narrowed down her search starting from the cheapest.
nA child’s car?!
nIn the end, she could not afford to buy a car at all. The cheapest car cost 66,000 pink stones. It was too expensive.
nShe switched to the barter interface instead and continued her search.
nThere were no search results?!
nLi Ran scratched her head. She had hit a roadblock. As a pregnant woman, she did not have the stamina or energy to walk long distances. It was impossible.
n
n
nJust as Li Ran was about to close the system’s mall, a popup appeared.
n Instruction manual
n“Why didn’t this thing appear earlier?!”
n I did not expect you to be so stupid. I’m sorry.
nLi Ran’s eyelids twitched. She was really impressed by how snarky the mysterious space could be.
