Chapter 9 Fated

nKyle wryly smiled as he indeed lacks general knowledge about the Arcane Paths, the Dark Arts, the Vermont Academy, and other things related to mysticism. đđđ.đđą
nHe had only finished his primary education after all.
nLuckily, Mr. Heinz has plenty of books here to help him gain enough knowledge about the other side of society. He felt really lucky to have this kind of mentor.
nâI can read Soineti without any problems⊠I know a little Heumish as well since I thought I was going to study at the Academy of Knights.â Kyle replied after browsing his memories.
nSoineti is the common language of the Millton Kingdom and the Pallham Empire. He wasnât sure about the history between the two nations because the previous Kyle wasnât too interested in it. However, he heard from his primary teachers that Pallham Empire has a deep connection to their Millton Kingdom.
nAnyway, aside from this, he knows that Melthorn City was in the Millton Kingdom.
nâThatâs good enough⊠Iâll pick a few books and you have to finish reading them in a monthâŠâ Heinz said with his hoarse voice as Kyle immediately felt a headache.
nâI have to read books in two months⊠Just how many should I read?â
nSoon, he saw Heinz in front of the bookshelf at the leftmost side of the room. He took out over eight books and put them on his deskâŠ
nâEight books⊠That should be doable.â Kyle thought as he approached Mr. Heinz.
nâNot this. These are too advanced for you. Read the ones that are left on that shelf.â Heinz spoke to Kyle as he pointed at the shelf.
nKyle was astounded at this as he felt that it was too much!
nHe looked at his Master again and confirmed that his face doesnât seem to be joking.
nâM-master⊠Thatâs probably over a hundred books.â
nHe doesnât think he can even finish a single book per day! Heâs not a machine and his system doesnât help him read faster. He wasnât even sure if his intelligence is enough to make it easier for him.
nHowever, even after complaining, Heinz simply looked at him nonchalantly.
nâIt doesnât matter. Just read what you can read. After a week or so, Iâll be teaching you something that can help you absorb information faster. I just have to confirm a few things to the vice headmaster before teaching you any of the Dark Arts.â Heinz explained as he waved his hands.
nKyle finally relaxed after hearing Mr. Heinzâs words. Indeed, his Master already thought of things and he just have to follow him.
nFor now, he wanted to extract the corpses that were delivered.
nâI understand, Master. Iâll help you arrange these bodies first. Where would you like me to put them?â Kyle asked as he already approached the corpses.
nHe then noticed that these people still have a few coins bulging in their pockets. Just like Lesley, the facilitator on the other recruitment site doesnât seem to be interested in the items owned by the commoners.
nHeinz thought for a moment before accepting Kyleâs assistance.
nâJust line them up and remove all their clothes. I need to inspect them first⊠If thereâs nothing wrong, bring them behind that door⊠No, Iâll bring them away, youâll probably die if you get near the furnace.â
nKyle was stumped by the sudden instruction. However, he knows that he canât always question his Master so he decided to just follow his instructions for now.
nHeâs also not interested in the dangerous furnace that could kill him.
nHe took a deep breath to condition his mind. It will be a lie if he says that heâs not uncomfortable looking at the dead bodies.
nTo be honest, he has been bothered by them all this time but he just canât complain in front of the old expert.
nRight now, the room is bright so he can easily see their expressions. Their eyes are open, dry blood on their orifices, expressions of fear, pain, and despair, he can see it all.
nThey all didnât die peacefully.
nHu~
nIt was unlike when he was in the cold and dark room where he canât properly see their faces so he wasnât too afraid.
nâI⊠Iâll work on it now, Master HeinzâŠâ Kyle answered forcefully as he first worked on the first batch of bodies.
nThere were three female bodies from them but Kyle didnât stop moving even for a moment. It was just a bit difficult since their clothes are tighter than he expected. Furthermore, they were still quite cold, and perhaps, because of the potion, they didnât make a mess after their death.
nKyle previously heard in his past life that after death, the muscles loosen releasing the strain on the bowel and bladder. It would normally result in a release of poop and pee at death.
nHowever, it didnât happen to these bodies.
nPerhaps it was because of the potion they drank⊠He couldnât tell.
nAfter removing all their clothes, Kyle also had the time to at least close their eyes and rigid jaw.
nThen, he turned to the new batch of corpses that were delivered.
nHe looked at his Master who seem to be preparing to go out before he shifted his gaze back to the corpsesâŠ
nâAlright⊠Letâs try.â
n Human corpse has been discovered. Would you like to extract it?
nâYesâŠ
n Extraction successful. Energy 5. Intelligence 0.02
nAfter the successful extraction, he checked Heinzâs reaction and confirmed that he didnât notice anything.
nâGood⊠Itâs untraceable.â
nWith this in mind, Kyle extracted the other seven bodies as he removed their clothes, and lined them up.
n Extraction successful. Energy 5. Intelligence 0.01
n Extraction successful. Energy 5. Intelligence 0.01
n Extraction successful. Energy 5. Strength 0.01
n Extraction successful. Energy 5. Agility 0.01 đȘđł.đ€đđ

nSeeing that his attributes slowly increase, Kyle couldnât help but smile⊠Perhaps, itâs a good idea to stay here.
nThen, as he was happily checking his attributes, he was suddenly interrupted by the delighted Mr. Heinz after seeing his work.
nâOh? Itâs my first time seeing someone smiling like that while dealing with the corpses⊠It seems that youâre fated to work here. Good. GoodâŠâ
