Chapter 127: Scroll of Greed

Zhao Luo felt saddened by the way the baldy fooled him.

Sigh~

Letting out a long sigh Zhao Luo was already in front of the desk where the Junior Elder was sitting.

Mhmm ZzzzZ

Zhao Luo looked at the elder and found the elder’s face to be covered with the scroll once again.

He is sleeping. Again.

‘Tap Tap’

Zhao Luo said while hearing the sound of Senior Cutie coming down the stairs.

Knock Knock.

Zhao Luo strongly knocked on the desk causing the elder to wake up slowly.

Ah you are back. But why the long face? Did you not find any useful technique on the second floor?

Junior Elder looked at Zhao Luo and found the expression on his face confusing.

Junior Elder had already removed the scroll from his face and that scroll was lying right on the desk.

It’s that but it’s also not that.

Zhao Luo murmured but he didn’t know what he should tell the elder.

‘The bullet fist is good but books were supposed to hold complete techniques yet there was a continuation so just that technique cost me 47 points. While the extraordinary breath shows unlimited potential it’s a scroll so it will be incomplete. Overall nobody has yet to learn it so even if I too am not even able to learn it let alone master it then it will be a complete waste.’

Zhao Luo weighed the result of using 75 points here and found himself in a predicament.

He couldn’t even blame Senior Cutie anymore as it was his short-sightedness that he fell for baldy’s words.

Well don’t worry too much about it. Points are easy to get. You can easily earn 50 points by completing 10 missions. Since you are new here try going to the mission hall otherwise known as The Black Zone.

Junior Elder advised Zhao Luo.

He was using these words to cheer Zhao Luo but he didn’t know that his words were posing the opposite effect on Zhao Luo’s mental.

‘What? I have to do ten missions for just 50 points. That is like 5 points each.’

Zhao Luo thought as he looked down.

Should just leave the sect and take the sect entrance exam again?

Zhao Luo said in a low voice.

Hmm what did you say?

Junior Elder asked Zhao Luo as he could barely hear what Zhao Luo had said.

Oh nothing.

Zhao Luo replied as he bowed his head.

Just then Senior Cutie had also reached the desk thus causing Zhao Luo to look away.

Little Brother are you still mad? This is how everyone acts. It was just a small joke since we will be competing against each other soon.

‘Tap.’

Senior Cutie told Zhao Luo as he patted Zhao Luo’s shoulder.

Zhao Luo gave him a sharp glance resulting in Senior Cutie taking a step back from him.

What happened? What did he do?

Junior Elder asked Zhao Luo while pointing at Senior Cutie’s bald head.

Hmph.

Zhao Luo scoffed as he stopped giving Senior Cutie the sharp push.

Clap!

How many times do I have to tell you that you should stop messing around with new disciples?

The Junior elder slapped Senior Cutie’s head while berating him.

The clapping sound was so clear that even if both palms were used a sound like this wouldn’t is possible to make.

It was because of the zero friction surface of Senior Cutie’s head.

Ouch.

Senior Cutie cried and looked like he would start crying anytime.

That should do it.

Junior Elder looked at Zhao Luo and found him looking down at the scroll that was on the table.

Zhao Luo who was standing next to them had his eyes fixed on the golden scroll that was on the table.

I wouldn’t do that if I was you. As for him forgive him for my sake. He has gotten older but his nature is still worse than a kid’s.

Junior Elder told Zhao Luo and glanced at Senior Cutie while vouching for the baldy.

‘Mhmm.’

Zhao Luo nodded and moved his stare away from the scroll.

Zhao Luo calmly looked at Senior Cutie and found senior’s eyes looking in his direction.

It’s okay but doesn’t do it again.

Zhao Luo told Senior Cutie giving face to Junior Elder.

After which Zhao Luo looked at the Junior Elder.

Elder why is the scroll empty? And why did you stop me from looking at it?

Zhao Luo looked at the scroll in Junior Elder’s hand and asked him.

What?

This!

The Junior Elder jumped over the desk and moved closer to Zhao Luo.

‘Did I ask a strange question?’

Zhao Luo thought as he found Junior Elder staring right into his eyes.

It was indeed strange for someone to have a scroll without content opened and instead of reading it the elder had it on his face as he slept. But the elder was acting weird.

The junior elder moved near Zhao Luo’s ear.

Did you say that the scroll was empty?

The Junior Elder whispered his question in Zhao Luo’s ear.

Yes it was. I saw the scroll and there was not even a single word on it.

Zhao Luo answered it slowly and just loud enough that only the elder could hear his voice.

Senior Cutie looked at the two in confusion.

‘What are they whispering to each other?’

He thought as he looked at the elder who rushed at him.

‘Fwoo~’

The elder opened the scroll and shoved it in front of Senior Cutie’s face.

What do you see?

It’s the scroll of greed. The first tells about the test contained in the scroll of greed. The test is named ‘The Free Mind’ which measures a person’s ability to control their desires. The next part i-

That would be enough.

The junior elder interrupted Senior Cutie and turned around to do the same thing to Zhao Luo.

Are you certain that it’s an empty scroll?

The Junior Elder squinted his eyes and questioned Zhao Luo.

A pressure enveloped Zhao Luo.

He could feel a threat as he looked at the elder’s eyes. It was like a single lie would become the reason for his head leaving his neck that is his life leaving his body.

‘When did I ever lie?’

Zhao Luo with such an honest thought in his mind closed his eyes.

The next instant as he opened his eyes.

Yes as I have said before the scroll is indeed missing any word. I can’t see a single word on it.

Zhao Luo told him while looking straight into the junior elder’s eyes.

Who wouldn’t believe someone with such intense eyes?

The elder took back the pressure that was falling on Zhao Luo and smiled at him.

‘Pap Pap’

You. I have great hopes for you.

The junior elder folded the scroll and told Zhao Luo while patting his shoulder.

T-thank You.

Zhao Luo didn’t know why the elder said that but he could only take it as a compliment thus bowing his head.

This whole situation confused Senior Cutie beyond reason.

‘How could the scroll be empty?’

He thought as he looked at the elder’s smile directed at Zhao Luo.

Now go. I have spent too much time on you two. Look at the other disciples they all are training hard for the upcoming ranking match. I can’t blame Zhao Luo but you bald head why are you still here?

The elder angrily looked at Senior Cutie while calling him a bald head.

‘Hahaha.’

Zhao Luo laughed lightly while Senior Cutie felt embarrassed as the junior elder wasn’t someone he could talk back to.

I am here as little brother’s guide.

Senior Cutie told the elder.

He isn’t a kid. He won’t get lost if you don’t guide him.

No. I should still stay with him till he gets familiar with the secondary halls of the outer hall.

Senior Cutie argued with the junior elder but the points he had stated were quite valid.

Zhao Luo found the elder looking at him thus nodded to show that he didn’t mind Senior Cutie guiding him.

‘I will just trust you once again.’

Zhao Luo reckoned as he looked at Senior Cutie.

Okay then leave. Both of you.

The junior elder looked in a hurry while telling Zhao Luo and Senior Cutie to leave the library.

‘Nod.’

Both understood what the elder was telling them.

‘He must have been holding it in for quite some time.’

Zhao Luo felt worried for the elder’s stomach as he looked at the expression of elder which looked like he was in quite the urgency.

After a while Zhao Luo with Senior Cutie stood outside the inclined tower of the library zone.

So I hope you won’t try to fool me again.

Zhao Luo said to Senior Cutie as the light of Sun fell on them.

The green surrounding with Zhao Luo’s statement gave a new feeling to Senior Cutie who was looking at Zhao Luo’s handsome face.

I will try my best.

Senior Cutie stated as he was being honest.

This caused a grin to emerge on the face of Zhao Luo.

‘At least he didn’t lie.’

Zhao Luo thought as he looked towards the exit of the library zone.

(The secondary halls were different than each other.

Only the entrance hall was a closed space while all the other zones were open spaces that is the roof was the sky.)

Zhao Luo and Senior Cutie left the library zone through the yellow door and returned to the entrance zone.

Where are we going now?

Zhao Luo asked as he looked at the black door that was opposite the yellow door.

There.

Senior Cutie pointed at a door and Zhao Luo looked at it.

I see. Let’s go then.

Zhao Luo said as both of them walked towards the door in question.
