Chapter 19: A Crimson God?

nFinally after Zhao Luo understood the division of ways on the difficulty level the page turned blank again.

nWhile Zhao Luo was waiting for the new set of lines to appear on that blank page he had a thought.

n‘Where do I stand on the path to Godhood?’

n‘How hard is my way?’

n‘How powerful will I be once I become a God after following my path?’

nSuch thoughts lingered in his mind.

nThe set of lines started appearing.

nZhao Luo stopped thinking and focused on the page again. The title was still the same as the last one.

nWays

nZhao Luo read it out loud and then saw that there was a new heading that hadn’t appeared before this time.

nYour Way

nZhao Luo knew that the book was addressing him.

nThere were only two lines below the ‘Your Way’ heading.

nZhao Luo read the first line

nThe best way to become a God is to follow the path that gives the greatest strength.

nZhao Luo was immersed in the line thinking about how he agreed with this.

nWhen a person is aiming to become something then if he isn’t the strongest or the best once he becomes that then what’s the use of working all along the way.

nZhao Luo continued to the second line.

nThe path that can result in the strongest powers is the path on Heaven’s Way.

nThe new content ended here leaving Zhao Luo in a questioning state regarding this Heaven’s way.

nThe words stayed there for a second after Zhao Luo had read them then they slid to left disappearing the thick first page of the heavens tomb.

nAs they were disappearing new words were appearing on the page again.

nThis time there were only two words that appeared. They were grand yet they were something that Zhao Luo was expecting as he already had many books so he knew how the writers would get the reader’s attention.

n‘By leaving them in a cliff hanger then starting from that cliff hanger to get the audience more immersed in it.’

nSo as he had expected these words were

nHeaven’s Way

nZhao Luo read the words and knew that he was finally getting to the ripe part.

nThe excited Zhao Luo was ready to learn Heaven’s Way.

nHe was ready to become the strongest God ever.

nHe was ready to work hard and give his all on this path.

nHe was ready to be freed from this capsule.

nHe was ready to move his body.

nAs he was already ready for all of the above new words appeared on the page.

nThe heaven’s way is a combination of all our knowledge. We the Seven Gods who are the strongest of our time are standing on a peak that is unseen by the ones who call themselves God too. Yet the ‘Heaven’s Way’ which we have created will take you to a peak even higher than ours. Only the worthy ones will stay on this way. Even on this way only the ones with the strongest wills will surpass us.

nZhao Luo read all of it with a stern expression.

nAnother long explanation but an interesting one indeed. It’s like these seven Gods are talking to me personally.

nZhao Luo said after reading it.

nThat was the end of the words and now the new content was to appear as it had been happening all this time.

nZhao Luo waited to read the next part but instead of disappearing these words were still there. Then he waited for a little more yet nothing out of the ordinary happened. The lines were still there the words were the same too.

nThen Zhao Luo tried to turn to the next page.

n‘Flip.’

nHe turned the page.

nAnd this time the page was white and blank. The shine from this page was so mesmerizing that only the shine of a full moon was comparable to it.

nZhao Luo was still holding the book starting at the white page. He waited for the new content to appear on it so he can continue reading it.

nInstead of words appearing on it he felt a powerful suction force as if the book had grabbed him and was him inside.

nWhat is happening?

nSoon the dark mind space that he was in turned darker than it was before.

nSeven pairs of eyes appeared in that dark space.

n‘Hmmm’

n‘Haaah’

n‘Interesting’

nSeven different sounds were heard coming from where these eyes were in that space which also where Zhao Luo was.

nZhao Luo felt an oppressive power from these eyes. He felt like he was continuously shrinking in front of them.

nThe eyes felt like a giant to him and he felt himself to be an ant standing naked in front of these eyes.

nSix pair of eyes were in a circle except for the one in the middle of these six making

nit seven.

nThese eyes were the eyes of the Seven Gods who were the author of this book.

nThey had left a bit of their egos in the book so if they weren’t alive one day their egos would help the one who reads their book.

nSix of the eyes had the same shine. The eyes were like diamonds.

nThey had a yellow-brownish shine that was erupting from their eyeballs even in this darkness.

nThe one in the middle was the only different one among these seven. It had a crimson shine.

nSince coming to this place Zhao Luo unknowingly had been staring at this particular pair of eyes with the crimson shine.

nThis staring contest ended when these eyes closed.

nDon’t stare at me so hard. I feel shy.

nThe sweet voice came from those eyes said to Zhao Luo. It was clear that the voice belonged to a woman.

nZhao Luo was shocked and he blushed as he wasn’t such a person himself. To stare at someone who was staring at him he couldn’t do such a feat.

nThe eyes opened and the crimson shine had increased in intensity.

nA new voice was heard talking about Zhao Luo.

nThis insolent dog. If you had dared to stare at her in front of me I would have pulled out your eyes from your doggy sockets and grilled them before throwing them in a pile of **.

nThe voice was disrespecting so disrespecting that Zhao Luo was already erupting with anger.

nYou bastard. Why would you even grill them if you aren’t going to eat them

nZhao Luo asked angrily.

nThe eyes that disrespected Zhao Luo were lost for words as he had no way to answer the question that Zhao Luo had asked him.

nHahaha.

nLaughing sounds emerged from the other eyes.

nAnother one of the eyes in the circle said to Zhao Luo

nForgive my friend for disrespecting you young man. Don’t let it get to you.

nThose eyes said with a heavy voice.

nZhao Luo couldn’t tell if he was being asked for forgiveness or reprimanded because of the tone of these eyes.

nEven though he looked at the eyes that spoke to him just now and noded.

nThe eyes in the middle with the crimson shine said to Zhao Luo.

nYou were brought here so we could examine you to know if you are worthy or not. Only after that will you be able to continue on the path of Heaven’s Way.

nThe female voice addressed Zhao Luo.

nZhao Luo started feeling nervous but then he remembered what the old man told him when he was teaching Zhao Luo the stages of Naoli.

nYes I am a genius.

nZhao Luo said. He may have mixed his memory with some other moment.

nOkay as you say. We will know soon.

nThe crimson eyes spoke thinking that Zhao Luo was talking to it.

nA crimson shine covered Zhao Luo. His whole body was filled with strength.

nThis only last a moment and the shine left his body and returned to the eyes in the middle.

nZhao Luo could feel the strength leaving his body along with the shine.

nZhao Luo looked at the eyes looking forward to knowing his result and of he was worthy or not.

nHe thought that if he wasn’t worthy then who would be.

nJust barely.

nSaid the eyes in the middle.

nBarely?

nZhao Luo thought that the context was missing. Just barely but what did he pass ‘barely’ in.

nYour physical ability is just barely passable. Your body is just strong enough to handle the harshness of this path. If it was any weaker than it is already then it would have been not suitable for Heaven’s Way.

nThe eyes explained.

nThen another shine covered his body. This time it looked as if his body was on fire. Instead of feeling hot he felt a cooling and calming sensation as if someone was hugging him to comfort him.

nThis shine came from the eyes who had insulted Zhao Luo for starting the eyes in the middle.

nThen the shine returned in front of those eyes.

nAnd the eyes which had disrespected Zhao Luo said.

nLet’s see the strength of your mind.

nAfter the eyes said that the fiery shine turned black.

nThe fiery shine died down and a white flame appeared where the shine was.

nThe white flame turned golden and illuminated the whole area.

nNot bad for someone with just a passable bo-

nThe eyes stopped talking as if someone had slapped the face of the one talking.

nThe golden flame was dying down and a platinum beam shot upwards from within the dying flame.

nHahaha interesting. I take everything back. You are 100 times better than a dog. You may have been worth teaching if I was he-.

nThe eyes stopped talking in the middle again.

nThe platinum beam was dying down and from the dying beam a radiant shine appeared illuminating the space as if someone had brought the sun in this space.

nThe shine had clear crimson red rays which were blinding all of the eyes in the circle.

nOnly the eyes in the middle were looking at the shine interestingly.

nMind of a Crimson God.

nSaid the eyes while looking at the shine.

nTold you.

nZhao Luo smirked and folded his arms in front of his chest and looked upwards with his face tilted looking at the eyes as if they were his subjects.

n
