nChapter 7
nUpon hearing such words from Gu Anhao who had never once explained herself the whole time, the two sons of the Xu family jumped up and shouted, “Gu Anhao, we’ve never met such a shameless crazy girl like you!”
n“They took Hanru to Enchanting Bar and forced her to get drunk. As they attempted to rape her in the private room there, I attacked them before they could!” Anhao said.
n“Hanru?” The headmaster was surprised. “You mean the Year-3 girl with the highest grades?”
nThe eldest son of the Xu family interjected in a hurry, “Bullsh*t! Why don’t you call Hanru over? She can be a witness to that incident and prove our innocence!”
nThe President of Academic Affairs beside them who had tagged along remarked, “It was Hanru’s birthday that day, which was why she didn’t stay in her dormitory bedroom that night. She had no clue about whatever happened when I asked her whether she was involved in this incident or not. She only went to her uncle’s house to celebrate her birthday so she didn’t return to the dorm. Therefore, she did not go to the bar, nor did she hang out with the three male students.”
nAnhao let out a sardonic laugh upon seeing both the satisfied faces of the two sons of the Xu family.
n“There’s no way that the academically-outstanding white-lotus-like good girl would confess that she drank with these two little bastards in the bar, and there’s absolutely no way she would confess that she almost got raped either. She still needs her scholarships and various awards in order to easily pass Huabei University’s entrance exam and be sent to study overseas. ”
n“You brat…” Mrs. Xu could not help but lash out at her, but immediately shut herself up again after receiving a cold look from the man beside her. While withholding her anger, she said, “Anyway, you must face the consequences as beating people up is an offense!”
n“Are you sure about that?”
nWith a half-smile, Zuo Hancheng’s motionless eyes looked at them.
n“Stop it, that’s enough!” Mr. Xu turned around in a moment’s notice and angrily rebuked his wife behind him, “Don’t you think this is getting out of hand?”
nMrs. Xu was being totally irrational as she just wanted to protect her sons. She prudently looked at Mr. Zuo after being reprimanded by her husband.
nShe saw that his eyes were clear, and he was a little bit assertive even though he looked calm. The man was observing the entire situation despite not saying much.
nBeing totally unable to confirm where this god came from, this kind of calm aura was way too steady and too non-negligible. Therefore, it was best to bear with it for a while.
nFeeling discontent, she still mumbled with a soft voice, ” I can’t just let our sons be beaten in vain like that…”
nZuo Hancheng looked indifferent and said, “An hour ago, the police of the Municipal Public Security Bureau had already gone to the bar to obtain the surveillance video in the private room that night.”
nAs Zuo Hancheng raised his hand and took the compact disc the judicial policeman handed over to him, Anhao looked back in shock. Then, he gave the disc to the other two policemen in the interrogation room.
nThere was then a massive change in everything in the next few minutes.
nThe scene that night was fully replayed in the surveillance footage.
nIt was indeed those two boys who had taken Hanru to the bar and had drinks with her. Then, the two boys began to take off her clothes once she was drunk and had collapsed on the sofa.
nGu Anhao appeared in the camera as she heard Hanru crying out, struggling to free herself after waking up.
nHanru begged Gu Anhao for help while sitting up and holding onto Anhao’s legs. She seemed to know what had transpired as Anhao directly headed for the two boys and beat them up.
nThe two boys were so pissed off and proceeded to lash out at Anhao until Hanru unsteadily ran off while gathering her clothes. Whatever angry words they threw at Anhao were completely inaudible. Gu Anhao beat them up again after pushing and holding them down. Finally, she tortured them by stomping on their most sensitive part, twice, before fabulously walking out and leaving the bar.
nBoth the parents of the Xu family looked ghastly pale now that the truth was right in front of everyone’s eyes.
nMr. Xu saw that Gu Anhao was leaning against Zuo Hancheng’s side the whole time, and he immediately knew that both this little girl and Zuo Hancheng had an extraordinary relationship. Then, he slapped his sons in their faces after turning around to them.
n“You two little imbeciles!
n“You bastards! Why didn’t you tell the truth when you came home?”
nThe clamoring in the interrogation room of the police station could be heard by everyone, but Zuo Hancheng, who withdrew his hand from Anhao’s shoulder, stayed out of this and inadvertently said, “Since those two children of yours are already eighteen, not to mention enough to face penal responsibility, then this crime of slander… ”
n“Mr. Zuo!” Mr. Xu rushed forward and tried to explain.
n“This whole mess is caused by our unfilial sons, they are still young and don’t know what they’re doing. So please don’t blame them nor be too hard on them, alright?”
nAt this moment, Zuo Hancheng glanced at the specks of redness and bruises on Anhao’s face and forehead caused by Mrs. Xu’s jabbing and pinching.
nAlthough he did not say anything, Mr. Xu instantly realized what he was thinking and nervously offered Anhao an apology upon seeing the injuries on Anhao’s face.
n“Anhao, please be the bigger person and don’t make a fuss about our sons, alright? I beg you and Mr. Zuo. Our sons are still young, their future will be ruined if they are given demerits or taken into custody.”
n“It’s your sons’ futures that will be ruined, not mine!” Anhao wanted to completely humiliate them. “Am I an animal or what? And what did you all say about me before this?”
n“Anhao, I’m here to apologize to you on behalf of our two children …”
nNot wanting to look at them, Gu Anhao then turned to look at both the principal and the policemen who did not dare to say anything, and said in a sarcastic manner, “Is this slapstick comedy over? Can I go now? Am I still suspended from school?”
nFeeling embarrassed, the principal said, “Anhao, this is a misunderstanding…”
nAnhao threw a disdainful look at the principal before setting her sights on Zuo Hancheng. He seemed to have given Anhao the right to vent her anger so she said with a satisfied tone, “Since they’re the ones who chose to take the judicial approach and called the police, then I’ll just leave it to the police as well. So whatever happens next is up to them, I’m out.”
nZuo Hancheng glanced at her.
nShe thought that he would be thinking Anhao was making a mountain out of a molehill due to her unwillingness to forgive, instead he replied, “Okay.”
nAnhao looked at him, slightly taken aback.
nUpon seeing that an imposing character like Zuo Hancheng would unexpectedly spoil such a little girl, the others were flabbergasted and silent out of fear as well. What was the Gu family or Gu Anhao’s relationship with him?
nWithout waiting for an answer, Zuo Hancheng held Gu Anhao’s hand and walked out of the police station.
nAt the parking lot.
nAnhao was astonished to see a black Bentley in front of her, she stood beside it before setting her sights on the tall, straight man who had just answered his phone, walking toward her.
n“Get in.”
nHearing his voice, Anhao pointed at the car in front of her in doubt. “This one…?”
nWithout saying a word, what Zuo Hancheng meant was pretty obvious as he slightly raised his elegant, good-looking eyebrows. Could it be the van next to it?
nAnhao turned around to look at the van and then back at that charming man. She could see that the Bentley was the only thing that matched his aura although she never questioned his identity like an idiot. Therefore, she opened the door and sat in the passenger seat.
n
