n“Don’t worry, grandma, all the costs were paid off.” For Gu Yan, the nightmare was over and the new life was coming.
n“Sorry, I am a drag to you.” Grandma thought Wen’s family would treat Gu Yan like a stranger since she divorced Wen Yunfeng.
n“Don’t say that. I would be lonely if you were not with me.” Gu Yan looked at her grandma who was weak and thin. “Only my grandma made me feel that I am not alone.”
n“Oh, poor girl.” Gu Yan looked fine, which made her grandma more upset.
n“Don’t worry about me, grandma. Please take care of yourself.” Gu Yan wanted to change a topic.
nGu Yan touched her grandma’s shoulder and pulled out the pillow behind her grandma. “Shh…” Gu Yan stopped her grandma from talking.
nAfter a few days, Gu Yan received a message from the customer who agreed with Gu Yan’s design. Then she started the decoration.
nIn case Wen Yunfeng made trouble for her, Gu Yan not only changed her phone number, but also went to the hospital by day and supervised the decoration by night. “I don’t believe that Wen Yunfeng will monitor me every minute.”
nThe workers who decorated Xiao Han’s house cooperated with Gu Yan very well and would discuss with Gu Yan.
nHowever, the workers decorating the second house had problems at the first day since they never cooperated with each other and had different characteristics. What was more, one of the master workers even wanted to quit.
nGu Yan had to go to the house furtively to find what happened. It was the language barrier that led to misunderstanding between each other and Gu Yan had to mediate to ensure that the decoration could be carried out normally.
nGu Yan felt deeply troubled. The workers sometimes were too tired to quit or too lazy to do their work and they couldn’t cooperate with each other well. Gu Yan had to stayed at the house for the whole day because she was lack of experience and had to avoid Wen Yunfeng’s monitor.
n“What happened?” Seeing Gu Yan leant the table since she was here, Manla worried about her.
n“I really want to sleep. I just came back from the house being decorated.” Gu Yan said tiredly without opening her eyes.
n“This is the café but not your bedroom.” Manla looked around and found it was lucky that no one looked at them.
n“Anyway, I am exhausted.” Gu Yan was too tired.
nManla wanted to see Gu Yan clearly but Gu Yan covered her face. “How long haven’t you slept? Or do you have a poor sleep every day?”
n“I can’t sleep well every day because I have to do all the things secretly. Just let me take a nap please and I need to go to hospital later.” Gu Yan hit the table.
n“Why do you always go to the hospital recently? I thought your grandma was in stable condition.” Manla thought, “Poor Gu Yan.”
n“She has to take out stitches recently and I am afraid that she will be scared, so I am about to stay with her every day. She knew that I got divorced and she was very worried about me.” Gu Yan felt regretful to tell her grandma that but her grandma would know it sooner or later.
n“Alright, take care of yourself.” Manla knew that Gu Yan could only give consideration to two or more things.
nGu Yan’s mobile phone was ringing again, which interrupted their conversation. Gu Yan complained and picked up the phone.
n“Gosh, there is another problem.” Gu Yan sighed and leant to the table again.
n“What’s wrong?” Manla felt that something was wrong when Gu Yan was calling.
n
n
n“A worker wanted to quit.” My god!
n“What? Why?” What the hell did he do?
n“He couldn’t cooperate with others even after my mediation.” Gu Yan really had no idea.
n“What are you going to do?”
n“Well, just let him go and I will find another worker in case of wasting time.” Gu Yan made a decision and picked up the phone immediately.
nManla drank water and shook her head. “The casual workers would have problems frequently but Gu Yan couldn’t do anything at this situation.”
nAlthough there were constant problems in decoration of the second house, the first house was successfully decorated.
nThe second house was also decorated after a running-in period. Gu Yan checked the decoration quality over and over again and breathed a sigh of relief, “Fortunately, there was no obvious problem.”
nNow only the third house needed to be decorated since the fourth house was not prepared.
nGu Yan got the payment of decoration for the two houses successfully after the customers did acceptance. Because Gu Yan purchased the finishing material from that store in wholesale price and had no extra charges involved in decoration, she earned a lot of money after paying the salary and the material fees.
nManla couldn’t imagine what happened to Gu Yan when she saw Gu Yan again.
nManla was very delighted because she got a promotion since she was a hard worker. Then she got a call from Gu Yan.
nManla went to Gu Yan’s house and knocked on the door with her slender hand. The door was opened by a woman with messy hair.
nManla looked at the surroundings and felt embarrassed and confused, “Did I get the wrong floor?”
nShe smiled awkwardly, “Sorry, I got a wrong place.” The woman in front of Manla yawned when Manla was about to leave.
n“Manla, where are you going?”
nManla curled her lip and scrutinized the woman in front of her after hearing the voice.
nNow Gu Yan’s hair became messy and dry. Her lovely round face turned to a square face with chapped lips and her big shiny eyes became gloomy, with black eye and even under-eye puffiness and wrinkles.
nAll in all, Gu Yan looked like an elder sister in thirties. Manla was distressed for Gu Yan whose life was really tough.
nManla wanted to comfort Gu Yan and touched Gu Yan’s head after entering the room. But she didn’t expect that her palm was full of hair oil. Manla couldn’t believe it and stared at her hand in amazement.
