Chapter 264 - Gaia Is Bullied
Chen Zhao and Fali were woken up by a gunshot. They hurriedly turned on the lights.
“Fali, don’t come down.” Chen Zhao was very awake. He stopped Fali and rolled over to get the baseball bat on the side.
When he went downstairs, he saw Spike lying on the stairs. Chen Zhao froze. He checked Spike and found him dead.
Right then, he saw blood on Black Ma. He’d gotten shot.
“Chen.” Fali poked her head out above the stairs. She didn’t feel safe alone in her room.
Chen Zhao looked up at Fali. “It’s okay. You can come down now.”
Fali went downstairs. She saw Spike on the ground, as well as the case and a necklace wrapped around it.
“It’s my necklace,” Fali said immediately.
“It really did come back,” Chen Zhao lamented.
“What do we do now?”
“Call the cops.”
Chen Zhao called the police. People who broke into homes at night deserved to die.
Zola and her lawyer came faster. Chen Zhao didn’t know how she could get the news so quickly and hurry over so quickly too.
“Zola, how come you’re here?”
“I have a friend in the Beverly Hills police station,” Zola answered. “He told me that there was a shooting at a house under my name. This is my lawyer, Ramons. He’ll help represent you. If there’s anything uncomfortable for you to say, you can tell him.”
“Hello, Mr. Ramons. My girlfriend and I were sleeping and this man broke in. He ran into my pet. He shot my pet but got pounced on and hit his head on the stairs.”
“Is Black Ma okay?” Zola saw that Black Ma had bandages on him.
“He’s okay. I already treated him.”
“Zola, Mr. Chen,” Ramons said. “You’re not in the wrong for this, so it’s okay even if I don’t come.”
A short while later, the police arrived at the house. They asked for Chen Zhao and Fali’s testimonies and took away Spike’s body and the case.
They didn’t give Chen Zhao and Fali any trouble at all. This was a wealthy neighborhood. No one who lived here was simple. The police’s responsibility was protecting them.
…
These days, Chen Zhao was busy helping Blackie move.
Blackie had to construct a space crevice in the new home. He couldn’t transport many of the solid items. He could do it inside the space crevice but not in the outside world.
Thus, he needed Chen Zhao’s help. Chen Zhao especially reminded Blackie to clear out his collection entirely. Otherwise, it would be like the space crevice’s last owner, leaving a bunch of evil spirits that wreaked havoc in the house.
The most troublesome was the three-headed hound. It was honestly too big. It was bigger than Black Ma, White Ma, Walter, and Obitos put together—basically the same size as Chen Zhao’s Ford SUV.
Even if they moved the dogs out, there was nowhere to hide them. He had to leave them in the crevice for now and move them over when Blackie’s new home was done.
Chen Zhao went to train Normans every day. She grew slimmer and slimmer. Normans also dared to wear anything in front of Chen Zhao. This was because her confidence recovered with her figure.
Today, Chen Zhao came out of Normans’ house and saw a familiar person on the road. Chen Zhao parked the car. “Hey, Miller.”
“Chen, how come you’re here?” Ola Miller blocked the sun with a newspaper. She wore stilettos and looked really tired.
“Get in. Where are you going? I’ll give you a ride.”
Miller got into the car. The backseat was filled with pets. Chen Zhao often brought his pets to the gym, so Ola wasn’t surprised at them.
“Take me to the gym. Oh, you haven’t come in a long time.”
“Something happened at home, so I didn’t have time. Right, how come you’re walking under the sun in Beverly Hills?”
“My car broke down.”
Chen Zhao drove Miller to the gym and went up with her. He hadn’t come in a long time, so he decided to visit Gaia.
When they entered the gym, they realized it was a bit empty.
“Where did everyone go?” Miller asked in confusion.
“Are they at the ring?”
They walked toward the ring. As expected, everyone was there. Gaia was competing with a black man at the moment. However, unlike what Chen Zhao usually saw, Gaia was the one getting beaten up.
This wasn’t a public competition, but there was still a referee. It was a boxing match. The man was taller than Gaia—around two meters tall. He had long limbs too.
In the boxing world, the longer one’s arms were, the longer his fighting range.
Gaia was already on the defense. When she occasionally attacked, the man would be able to dodge easily.
Chen Zhao had never seen Gaia in such a pathetic state.
The referee finally ended the match. The man took off his gloves and tossed them down before Gaia.
Chen Zhao frowned. He’d thought that the man was friends with Gaia. But tossing one’s gloves to the other person’s feet on the ring was insulting.
None of the students in the gym said anything. Gaia walked down with a dark expression.
The man stood in the ring and raised his arms. “Guys, I opened a gym upstairs. If you’re interested, you can go check it out. Other than me, we also have Zanla Douglas, winner of last year’s WBA Golden Belt, who is the main coach. If you’re lucky, you can get taught by Zanla.”
With that, the man walked down the ring. He turned to look at Gaia. “Girl, fighting isn’t a sport that girls can play.”
Chen Zhao frowned. There were a dozen gyms or related businesses in this building. Everyone saw each other on a daily basis. Rarely would anyone come provoke someone else.
Take Gaia’s gym as an example. The main service was still fitness. Gaia would also teach some boxing or wrestling, but it was all for amateurs. It wasn’t professional training.
In America, there was one fitness expert for every overweight person. The fitness market was huge.
Everyone had their own skills. The man today had clearly come to cause trouble.
“Gaia, are you okay?” Chen Zhao went over to ask.
Gaia had some bruises on her face, but they weren’t bad. Chen Zhao was worried that her self-esteem would be hurt.
No matter what their conflict in the beginning was like, Gaia had shown her professionalism while Chen Zhao learned from her. She was also bold and loyal to her friends. She was the type that people would slowly start liking.
“I’m okay. How come you’re here?”
