Chapter 308 - Jewel Pirate

n“How about you let Faith stay here tonight?” Chen Zhao asked.

n“You’re really going to let her sleep with a bear?”

n“I’ll have Fali bring her to our bed at night,” Chen Zhao whispered. He was hurt right now, but he didn’t want Fali to know, so they obviously wouldn’t have sex tonight.

n“Fine,” Dell agreed.

n“Yay! Princess, we can sleep together!”

n“I’m going back,” Dell said, finishing his beer.

nChen Zhao walked Dell to the door. Dell only took two steps and two masked men jumped out from beside the road. One pointed a gun at Dell’s head; the other pointed at Chen Zhao.

n“Chen, is this your prank?” Dell couldn’t figure out if these two were real robbers or if it was a joke.

nChen Zhao gulped. Seeing his expression, Dell finally realized that they were really in trouble. Chen Zhao would joke with him but never about something so dangerous.

n“Hey, if you want money,” Chen Zhao said. “All the money in my wallet is yours. No reason to shoot just for that.”

nThe robber pointing a gun at Chen Zhao said through the mask, “You think we’re just hooligans? You think we’ll come to find you for a few hundred bucks?”

n“That’s the most I can give you.”

n“Go. You two go in.” The other masked robber pushed Dell.

nChen Zhao caught Dell. He didn’t dare do anything out-of-hand under the two guns.

n“Go slowly. If you do anything abnormal, we’ll shoot.”

nChen Zhao and Dell raised their hands and slowly retreated to the living room. Once there, the two robbers started looking around.

n“Where’s the woman?”

n“Who?”

n“That pretty woman in the white dress and red necklace.”

n“There’s no such woman here,” Chen Zhao said calmly.

n“Bullsh*t. We saw her come here.”

nChen Zhao looked at one of them. They knew that Fali wore a white dress and had the Redmoon Heart. They must have hidden outside the mansion and gotten ideas. They might have noticed Fali at the show.

nChen Zhao observed them. Gradually, his eyes fell on one of them. He realized the man’s identity—or rather, his face!

nThis man should be the one with slicked-back hair who’d tried to dance with Fali but gotten rejected.

nJonal seemed to notice Chen Zhao’s eyes and grinned.

n“You found me out.” Jonal didn’t keep hiding. He pulled his mask down.

n“I didn’t think the upper-class would also be common robbers.”

nJonal laughed. “My elite lifestyle is supported by my work, but I don’t like being a robber. I like to call myself the Jewel Pirate.”

n“Jonal, stop wasting time talking to them,” Bart said, annoyed. “Find the person and get the stone.”

nJonal really enjoyed the moment—the feeling of being the victor.

n“Asian, call the woman out and let us have fun. Don’t waste our time. We’ll let you two go if we feel good.”

n“Chen…” Fali walked out. She’d been busy in the kitchen and didn’t know what was happening. As soon as she made a sound, she realized something was wrong.

nThe instant Jonal turned his head, Chen Zhao moved.

nBut the next moment, Bart fired. He shot Chen Zhao’s shoulder, making him falter. He looked down to see his left shoulder spewing with blood.

nJonal looked at the injured Chen Zhao. “Ha… Don’t pull tricks before Bart. He was in Afghanistan and killed more than 30 people.”

nBart looked at Chen Zhao. He could feel Chen Zhao’s dangerous aura.

n“You’ll regret it!” Chen Zhao said, expression cold.

n“Most people fall down with a bullet, but you can stay up. Did you train in this?”

nChen Zhao didn’t speak. He just stared coldly at Bart.

n“You can’t beat me. I won’t let you get close to me. If you move again, I’ll shoot your head next.”

nJonal looked at Fali with shining eyes. “Bart, I said the girl’s pretty enough, right?”

n“Very pretty.” Bart licked his lips.

n“You, come over,” Jonal called out.

nChen Zhao shook his head. “Fali, don’t.”

nJonal scoffed. “You think it’ll be okay if she doesn’t come over?”

nFali retreated back into the kitchen.

nJonal walked toward Fali. He didn’t think Fali could pose any threat to him, especially since he had a gun.

n“Jonal, don’t kill her,” Bart said. “I haven’t had fun yet.”

n“I know. One time isn’t enough with such a pretty girl. We have the entire night.”

nJonal was already inside the kitchen. They heard a bunch of bangs and crashes.

nBart smiled at Chen Zhao. “Do you hear that? Jonal is playing with your girl now.”

nDell was nervous, but his eyes carried some sympathy. He saw Chen Zhao’s cold face and knew that he wouldn’t let this fly.

nBart thought that it was about time. He lifted his gun. He was going to aim at Chen Zhao’s head this time.

nPulling back the trigger, bang—

nChen Zhao raised his hand instantly. Pain traveled from his palm and blood flowed out.

nBart was shocked. How come the bullet didn’t penetrate Chen Zhao’s hand?

nChen Zhao opened his hand. His palm was a bloody mess with a bullet embedded inside.

nWas this a joke? Catching a bullet with his bare hand?

nBart raised his gun again, but before he could shoot, a brilliant red flower bloomed on his arm. He turned around, incredulous, and saw Fali holding a gun.

nHe suddenly noticed a black shadow behind Chen Zhao. It was like something was about to jump out of it.

n“You…” Terrified, Bart took two steps back, but he bumped into something behind him.

nWhen he turned around, he saw a huge gaping maw. Black Ma had gotten behind him at some point.

nBart fell to the ground in terror and stared at Black Ma.

nJonal was dragged out too, but White Ma was biting his neck. White Ma didn’t apply any pressure, but Jonal didn’t dare make a sound or move around. The fangs touching his veins make him truly feel death.

nWhite Ma tossed Jonal next to Bart and Chen Zhao walked over. “What did I just say? You’ll regret this…”
