Chapter 542 - The Effect of $200,000

“I want two bottles.”

“Sorry,” Chen Zhao said. “I gave you and Marian each one bottle. Now, I only have one.”

It was practically impossible to produce the ointment in the human world. He could only get some ingredients when he went to Hell.

This was why Chen Zhao didn’t produce that many. After all, there were other ointments.

He couldn’t use it all to produce one type.

“How long will it take to produce one bottle?”

“At most two or three per month,” Chen Zhao replied after calculating.

Unless he went to Hell, he would have no way to get the ingredients.

“That little?”

But Kyla didn’t doubt this. If he could mass-produce this kind of ointment, Chen Zhao would probably be the world’s richest man.

“Are you at home now? I’m in a hurry. I’ll go over to get it.”

“I’m not home,” Chen Zhao said. “Here, tell me where you are. I’ll bring it over.”

“Okay.” Kyla recited her address.

“Gaia, turn around. Go to Beverly Hills.”

Chen Zhao hurriedly sent the ointment to Kyla’s hands and received a check in return.

Looking at the check in Chen Zhao’s hands, Gaia said meaningfully, “I’m starting to regret not choosing medical school.”

“Professor Carlo, we’ve pretty much gathered everyone. We should be able to enter again, right?”

Carlo nodded.

Ever since that last mountain expedition, he’d gathered a new group, but he still wanted Chen Zhao.

He knew that there was no way though.

What could he do if Chen Zhao was unwilling?

He couldn’t even force the man.

Last time he’d tried a trick, he even lost a man.

Carlo had placed great value on Murphy.

After all, that special bloodline was very important to his team.

“What about our equipment?” Carlo asked.

“We had a weapons expert from L.A. help us modify them,” Tyler said.

“Did you try it?”

“Yes. It’s much stronger, but can it kill the male Crypt Demons?” Carlo asked.

“I tested the new weapon on that male Crypt Demon body. It’s unable to damage the outer bone, but it can still cause damages if it hits muscle.”

Carlo thought for a moment. The male Crypt Demons didn’t actually have that much outer bone matter. They were quite scattered too.

As long as they had the modified weapons, they could be fatal for the male Crypt Demons.

Plus, they had a lot of people. He believed that they wouldn’t escape pathetically like last time.

“Then, let’s get ready today and leave tomorrow,” Carlo said.

“Okay. I’ll bring the newbies to relax today.”

“Don’t go crazy. We’re leaving tomorrow.”

“Okay.”

“Fanny, this is the ointment.” Kyla brought the ointment to Fanny again. “Don’t lose it again.”

“I know.” Fanny was quite embarrassed.

Kyla had gone through the trouble to bring her medicine, but she hadn’t treasured it.

“Where’s Aunt Dolin?”

“She went to the hotel,” Fanny answered.

“Oh, apply the ointment once every hour.”

“I know.”

After sending Kyla off, Fanny impatiently applied the ointment on her palm.

The familiar cool sensation traveled from her palm again.

“Oh…so nice.”

Without realizing, Fanny fell asleep.

After a long while, she felt an itch on her palm.

When she opened her eyes, her palm was stinging.

The bed was also covered with dark red dead skin.

She discovered that some of the burned parts on her palm actually had the color of normal skin.

“Huh?” Fanny looked back and forth. She pulled off some of the scabs and saw that new skin had grown over many of the burned parts.

“Is it the ointment? Is it really that effective?”

Fanny was still a bit hesitant, but she wouldn’t throw the ointment away anymore.

She picked it up and applied more after an hour.

When she felt the pain come back, she applied it again.

After repeating this three times, she discovered that a large patch of new skin had grown over the injured area.

However, the new skin was still red. It had an obvious difference from normal skin.

Her entire left hand didn’t hurt as intensely as before either.

It still stung, but it was bearable now.

Fanny applied ointment again, but halfway through, she discovered that it was empty.

There was no ointment left! None left?

This quickly?

“Kyla, I need more ointment. I need more. Give me another bottle… No, two bottles.”

“Sorry, Fanny. I don’t have any.”

“You don’t have any? Why?”

“My friend gave it to me.”

“Then what about your friend?”

“He only makes three bottles per month. Do you know the price of each?”

“How much?”

“Two hundred thousand dollars.”

“But I really need it. I realized that it’s really effective for for burns. It can heal without surgery, but I need more now.”

“He said he doesn’t have any more ointment, but he’s a doctor too. Maybe he can help treat your burns.”

“Okay, okay, hurry and call him.”

Now, Fanny finally believed Kyla.

Before, she’d thought that Kyla had gotten scammed.

Now, she truly regretted throwing out the first bottle.

She’d actually tossed out $200,000.

It wasn’t just the money either. More importantly, the ointment’s effect on her injury wasn’t comparable to $200,000.

She was willing to pay even $500,000.

“Hello? Mr. Chen, I have a question.”

“What is it?”

“My sister’s palm was burned with acid. Do you have any solutions for that?”

“Did you buy the ointment from me for her?” Chen Zhao asked.

“Yes.”

“Is it effective?”

“Yes, but she used it all up already.”

“I see. I’m not sure if I can heal her before seeing her.”

“Can I bring her over to you?”

“Yes,” Chen Zhao said.

“Are you home now?”

“Now?” Chen Zhao glanced outside. It was already seven at night.

If Kyla came over now, it would be around nine.

“Are you not free… My sister is really manic right now…” Kyla purposely exaggerated a bit.

In reality, she could tell from the earlier phone call that Fanny was feeling much better now.
