Chapter 569 - Beautiful

“No, I’m already sleeping. Don’t come bother me.”

Without hesitating, Zola rejected Rasfa’s idea to come to see his grandson and granddaughter.

“Of course, if you really miss them, I can have someone bring them over.”

Zola was enjoying the sweet wine. There was no doubt that Rasfa was here for the wine.

“I’m already outside the door. I can see your light’s still on.”

“Maybe the maid forgot to turn it off.”

With that, the lights in Zola’s house were turned off.

Rasfa, Steven, and Halifa—the three elders—were barred outside like that.

“I introduced Zola to so many Hollywood clients and she treats me like this.”

“I’m her father and she won’t let me in the door. This is too much.”

“Johnny, Chen gifted me a bottle of wine. It’s so sweet. Come try it.”

“Sure, sure. I’m coming.”

When Risfar reached Dell’s house, Dell smelled alcohol on Risfar.

“How come you smell like alcohol? Did Chen gift you some too? F*ck, you already got it. Why are you here to smooch off of me?”

“Lola and I finished it already,” Risfar said. “You can’t finish it by yourself, so I’m here to help.”

“F*ck, why? Isn’t it just a bottle of wine?”

“Didn’t you have any special feelings?”

“Special feelings? It’s just really sweet.”

“Fine. Pretend I didn’t say anything.”

“Chen, when will you brew more of that wine?” Rasfa was calling Chen Zhao.

Chen Zhao thought for a moment and replied, “I’ll make a dozen or so bottles per month.”

“Did you gift us the wine so we’ll help you promote it?” Rasfa was an old fox.

Chen Zhao’s plans couldn’t fool him.

“Yes.”

“Sell me a bottle per month and I’ll help you promote it.”

“Sure, no problem.”

“You can only make a dozen bottles per month?” Rasfa asked again.

“Of course. If possible, I want to make more for you too.”

“Okay, whatever. No matter how many bottles you produce, there won’t be more than three bottles on the market per month.”

Chen Zhao also knew about supply and demand.

No matter how precious the Purple Brew was, the cost would fall once it became more common.

Whether something was good or bad wasn’t only related to its quality. It was more about the quantity.

Just think. One thousand bottles could earn $500,000 versus one bottle that could sell for $500,000. Was the profit equal?

“Steven said he wants to help promote too,” Rasfa continued.

“Oh.”

“But we need stuff to promote, right?”

“Then you shouldn’t have drunk all the wine.”

“How about you sell it all to me?”

Chen Zhao rolled his eyes. The cost definitely wouldn’t be small.

He estimated that one bottle would be around $500,000. It was fine for one or two months, but if Rasfa spent a few hundred thousand dollars to buy this wine, even he would go bankrupt.

So Chen Zhao either had to lower to price to sell to him, or Rasfa had to spend great fortunes to buy it.

Either way, it wasn’t suitable, so he’d rather gift them a bottle every month.

It was also to compensate him for promoting the Purple Brew.

Chen Zhao went home and prepared for Fali’s return.

He placed the bamboo tubes of Purple Brew neatly and took out some ice cubes.

People rarely put ice in red wine because it might affect the taste after the ice melted.

However, Chen Zhao didn’t care. He could make as much of the wine as he wanted.

It was a limited edition for the outside world but not for him.

After a while, Fali came back.

“Smells great…Where does that wine smell come from?” Fali entered the room.

For some reason, her eyes filled with tears.

“Fali, I brewed this with a recipe I found. Try it.” Chen Zhao raised a goblet and handed it to her.

As soon as she put it to her mouth, the mesmerizing fragrance created tears in her eyes.

It was too beautiful…

Fali felt moved as if seeing flowers bloom in spring and icebergs melt, allowing everything to be reborn.

She took a sip of the wine and dabbed her lip with a finger. Then she sucked on her finger.

“Chen, this isn’t regular wine, right?”

“It is for us. Oh, give a bottle to Robio tomorrow.”

Argh—

Meow—

Princess and Samuel wanted to drink too.

“Chen, can they drink?”

“Yeah.”

If Rasfa and Steven knew that Chen Zhao fed the Purple Brew to a cat, they’d probably come visit with their guns.

The Purple Brew didn’t make anyone intoxicated.

Princess drank beer often. Sometimes, she would get drunk and go crazy, but the Purple Brew didn’t pose this problem.

Kyla and Fanny came. They parked the car at the door instead of the underground garage, and came through the door.

“Smells so good. What is it?”

“I’ve never smelled wine so sweet. It’s so moving…”

“Want a glass?” Fali offered a glass.

Fanny accepted and drank it all.

That instant, an image flashed through her mind.

It was that dreamlike night.

That night, she’d been thirsty, so she went downstairs to look for water.

And then that black shadow… The snake that led her to the waterfall cave.

The voice at the end… Fanny’s head shot up and she looked at Chen Zhao.

It was him! That voice was him.

“Fanny, are you okay?” Chen Zhao didn’t understand.

Why was Fanny suddenly looking at him?

Fanny lowered her head. “No, nothing.”

“Fanny, Kyla, how come you two came over today?”

“Chen said that he made the ointment,” Kyla explained. “So I brought Fanny over.”

Actually, she’d wanted to come over herself. She had to admit that the trip was worth it.

If she hadn’t come, she would’ve missed this wine.

For dinner, they sat on the grass in the front yard, chatting while drinking.

“Mr. Chen, do you sell this wine?”

“Yes, but I can gift you two bottles,” Chen Zhao said.

“How much is one?” Fanny asked. “I want ten bottles.”

“Uh… I’ve set it at $500,000 per bottle for now.”

Spleuch—

Fali, Fanny, and Kyla all spat out their wine at the same time.

Fanny looked at Chen Zhao in shock. “Are you sure you said the right price?”

“I’m not drunk. I know what I’m saying.”

“I can’t even afford one bottle per month with that price,” Kyla said, chuckling wryly.

Even an A-list actress was stunned by that price.

But whether the wine was worth the price, it depended on the person.

It was indeed great but not to the point that people would lose their minds over it.

The price also meant that there wouldn’t be a large supply.
