Chapter 264 - Inferno Cannon
“Here they come!”
One minute after Ji Ye and Ruan Xiaoer got on the shore, the Ghostship that came after them surfaced about a hundred meters away from the shore because the water wasn’t deep to hide it anymore.
Splash!
Instantly, under the afterglow in the sky, the whole area of the sea was dyed creepy black, and the air temperature suddenly dropped. A wind was blowing at the Twin Dragon Island with noises that sounded like miserable cries.
In the devastating wind, the enormous Ghostship didn’t stop but pressed close to the people of the Twin Dragon Mount fort on the surface of the water.
The ship that was almost a hundred meters long and fifteen meters tall looked very intimidating over a short distance.
“That can’t be right. I don’t think the water is deep enough to keep such a huge ship afloat, is it?”
“It’s a Ghostship, and it doesn’t need much buoyancy to float, so it’s not limited by the depth of the seawater!”
“Watch out! It may be trying to get ashore!”
Seeing that the Ghostship was moving right towards them, the people of the Twin Dragon Mount fort easily figured out what it wanted.
Such an enormous boat could be pressed forward without launching any attacks as long as it sailed close. Also, considering what happened before, the crew of the Ghostship couldn’t go too far away from their ship, but if the Ghostship could sail on the land, that restraint would be pointless.
The Ghostship must not get ashore!
Ding, ding, ding…
Music came from Twin Dragon Island.
The seawater in front of the Ghostship suddenly rose into waves more than ten meters high and pushed at the ship!
Chu Yin and Nie Xiaoqian, protected by the special units such as the Iron Buddhas and the Silver Suit Guards, were playing a Mirage Guqin and a Jade Pipa respectively.
Together, they were playing a song that Ji Ye was rather familiar with!
Melody of the Rising Tide
Level: Extraordinary
Rarity: Superior (Rare)
Description: The special technique created by Huang Yaoshi that can control water currents remotely has been specifically adapted into a Pipa song and a Guqin song by him. They’ll be as powerful as a Perfect technique when played by the two instruments simultaneously!
Splash!
The soundwaves raged like a tide, piling the seawater which was only several feet deep into tides more than ten meters high. It hit the Ghostship and slowed it down.
Although the Ghostship didn’t count on the buoyancy of the water, it couldn’t completely ignore its momentum!
Boom!
Following that, a cannon was fired as noisily as the tides.
A cannonball with purple and red runes on the surface flew from the Twin Dragon Island across a hundred meters above the water and hit the front part of the Ghostship, causing a bunch of half-transparent flames and leaving a hole the size of a table.
Inferno Cannon
Level: Special
Rarity: Refined
Description: This cannon can add an Inferno Rune to the cannonball in its barrier with Transcendent power and cause area explosive damage after hitting the target.
That was the Transcendent item that Ling Zhen got from the City of Humans!
Squeak, squeak, squeak…
Ghost cries came out of the Ghostship where it was hit.
Since the cannon was named after inferno, it clearly could deal special damage to ghosts.
Whoosh!
Then, the sky suddenly brightened.
A pure gold arrow that looked like a beam of sunlight was shot out of the formation and hit the Ghostship over the top of the tides.
Pew!
The glittering arrow flew into the head of the ship and out of its rear, leaving a penetrative, smoking hole the size of a bowl behind it.
Yan Qing, who was standing next to Ling Zhen, was holding a golden bow that seemed to be made of sunlight. It was slowly transforming.
“The Radiant Gold Bow!”
After Ji Ye took this Radiant Gold Bow into the Battlefield of Providence, he fused it with the abundant Radiant Gold that was stored in the Eagle Man Boss’ ring and upgraded it to Extraordinary Rank-7 Superior.
He gave it to Yan Qing, who was very good with bows, after he left the Battlefield of Providence. It was now Yan Qing’s main weapon.
The power of the Radiant Gold was from the sun, and the Ghostship was clearly scared of sunlight because it had to sail underwater before sunset.
Therefore, Yan Qing’s arrow had caused even greater damage than Ling Zhen’s special “Inferno Cannon” did!
“Heave-ho!”
Following that, it was a roar from Wu Song, who obviously showed the vibe of Extraordinary Rank-7.
Hum!
The blue mantis shrimp tattoo on his arm appeared, and the Bloody Tiger Battle Tally hanging on his waist launched a streak of red light towards the Tiger Soul Saber that he slashed out.
A tiger, whose wings were ablaze with blue hellish fire yet whose body was covered in bloody redness, roared and flew out on the top of the tides. It also hit the head of the Ghostship and caused a ten-foot-tall hole.
Furthermore, the tiger’s wings that were as sharp as blades and more than ten meters wide when unfolded left a horizontal mark on the body of the Ghostship.
If they weren’t too far away from each other, and if the Ghostship weren’t so huge, Wu Song could’ve even cut it apart with one slash.
Squeak, squeak, squeak…
The damage Wu Song caused was undoubtedly greater than Yan Qing’s and Ling Zhen’s.
Since the hellish fire could directly burn souls, more miserable cries of ghosts were spreading out of the Ghostship.
“Roar!”
The shadow of the yellow Mandrill behind Lu Zhishen’s back roared and threw out the Mountainous Mark in its arms that were ten feet tall. It carried such furious momentum that it broke through the head of the Ghostship and even left a hole on the bottom. Even two chests of treasures were knocked into the water too.
Since four holes were left on the Ghostship by the four attacks, the next wave of tides boosted by the Melody of the Rising Tide found its way into the cabins on the Ghostship through the holes and caused even greater pressure on it.
As a result, the moving Ghostship finally came to a full stop about twenty meters away from the shore!
“…”
Faced with the powerful attacks of the top heroes and players from the Twin Dragon Mount fort, the Ghostship clearly realized that it was impossible for it to get ashore in its ship form!
“Hahaha…”
In the next moment, dense green eyes that looked like fireflies glittered again.
Most of the enormous black ship dismembered into an overwhelming assortment of soul creatures that swarmed at everybody on the shore.
