Chapter 454 - Some People Deserve Punishment

nFamiliar lines. Nothing new.

n“Dr. Wang, who were they?” a patient waiting aside asked.

n“Two patients,” Wang Yao said.

n“Patients? What’s wrong with them?” the patient asked.

n“Here.” Wang Yao pointed at his head with a smile. “By the way, how can I help you?”

n“Oh, I’ve been having pain in my abdomen. The doctors from the hospital couldn’t find out what’s wrong with me. Can you please take a look?” the patient asked.

n“OK, I’ll take a look,” Wang Yao said.

n…

n“That young doctor is so arrogant! Ask us to try? Alright! He thinks we don’t have the gut to revoke his license? He’s wrong,” said one of the men from the Health Department.

n“He must know people in the government, given the way he behaved,” the other man said.

n“Who does he know? Who could be more powerful than that person?” the first man asked.

nThey knew why they were sent to the clinic. They needed to find an excuse to punish Wang Yao. As for the reason why it was Wang Yao, they didn’t get it until they were kicked out of the clinic.

nThey thought Wang Yao displeased someone in the local government due to his arrogant attitude and certainly should be punished.

nThey filled out a report as soon as they returned to the Health Department to revoke Wang Yao’s business license. However, they were stopped by someone in the department.

n“What do you mean by missing documents?” the person in charge asked.

n“Oh, a large amount of herbs doesn’t have any approval,” said one of the men who had visited Wang Yao’s clinic

n“Well, which herb store has approval for all the herbs for sale? Don’t push too hard. It’s not easy to run a clinic. You’ve got to understand that,” the Deputy Director of the department said sincerely.

nWhat the hell? The man submitting the paperwork didn’t know what to say. This was not expected.

nWhat’s going on here? Maybe the Deputy Director knows that guy? Is that why he didn’t give a damn about us?

nActually, he got it wrong. The reason the Deputy Director supported Wang Yao was because Wang Yao had cured his mother’s chronic cold leg syndrome. As a result, his mother mentioned Wang Yao a lot. She was very appreciative. The Deputy Director noticed the name and location of the practice when he read the paperwork submitted. Most people knew the importance of returning a favor. Therefore, he wanted to support Wang Yao.

n“I see. I’ll leave it for now,” said the man submitting the report. He then returned to his office with the report.

n“How is it going?” his colleague asked.

n“The report was not accepted,” the man said.

n“Why?” his colleague asked.

n“Director Chen didn’t accept it,” the man said.

n“Hmm. He must know Wang Yao,” his colleague said.

n“I’m not sure. I’ll make a phone call later,” the other man said.

n“I think we should leave this to him,” his colleague said.

nMeanwhile, Director Chen received a call.

n“No, that’s not possible. Please advise Chief Liu that we have zero tolerance to any act against the regulation. I promise,” Director Chen said.

nAfter he had hung up the phone, he made another call. Then, he ran into his own office. He needed to know why Chief Liu’s secretary had called him.

nWang Yao’s license was revoked the next day. The same two men came to give Wang Yao the notice. They were rude and arrogant.

n“You refused to obey our order. You asked us to try,” one of the men said. “See?”

nWang Yao didn’t say anything. He just smiled.

n“I’m sorry, everyone, my business license has been revoked. So, I can’t continue to see you,” Wang Yao said to those who had been sitting in the waiting room.

n“What? We came all the way here,” said a patient unpleasantly.

n“Why did you revoke his license?” asked another patient.

n“Exactly! Are you blind?” a tall man asked.

nIt was finally his mother turn to see Wang Yao. He was upset with the two men’s sudden visit.

nIt was like a person who had been waiting since midnight to purchase a train ticket. When it was finally his turn, the ticket seller told him that all the tickets had been sold out, so he had to wait until next year. No one would be happy with such a result. The person would probably have the urge to burn the ticket agent.

n“You, what did you say?” one of the men from the Health Department asked.

n“So what? You are blind!” The tall man stood up. He was about 6-foot-2 and very strong. “What are you staring at me for?”

nThe two men said no more and left in a hurry.

n“Damn it! I forgot to ask him to pay the fine,” one of them said.

n“Forget about the fine. We’ll just report that he refused to pay the fine. Leave it to someone else,” the other man said.

nHe didn’t want to go back into the clinic because he was scared of the tall guy.

n“Dr. Wang, why did they revoke your license?” a patient asked.

n“They said some documents are missing,” Wang Yao replied.

n“So what? As long as you are a good doctor,” the patient said. “I know someone working in the Health Department. I’ll get him to ask for you.”

n“No, thank you,” Wang Yao said. “I’ll see all of you this morning so that you don’t waste your time here.”

nAll the patients and their family members were happy. They had come all the way here just to see Wang Yao.

nWang Yao checked out every one of his patients and provided treatment and prescriptions. All his patients left with content.

n“Dr. Wang is such a nice person and extraordinary doctor. It would be a shame if he couldn’t continue to be a doctor,” one of the patients said.

n“You are right,” another patient said.

nThe patients were still chatting after they had seen Wang Yao. However, they felt a bit regretful.

n“Almost done!” Wang Yao checked the system control panel after all the patients had gone. He could almost upgrade.

n“What happened?” Tian Yuantu came to meet Wang Yao in the afternoon. He happened to overhear the conversation between Wang Yao and two patients.

n“The Health Department canceled my license,” Wang Yao said.

n“Why?” Tian Yuantu asked.

n“I’m not sure. Maybe I pissed someone off,” Wang Yao casually said.

n“Dr. Wang, we came all the way here to see you. Could you take a look at us? We are not going to tell anyone.” Two more patients came to see Wang Yao.

n“Yes, we are not going to tell anyone,” one of the patients said.

n“OK, please take a seat,” Wang Yao said.

nBoth patients were elderly people. Wang Yao didn’t want to waste their time.

n“I’ll wait here,” Tian Yuantu said. “Take your time.”

nTian Yuantu made himself a cup of tea and sat in the corner of the clinical room watching Wang Yao treating patients. One of the patients suffered from a headache. The other suffered from cold leg syndrome.

nWang Yao provided massage and Qi therapy to the patient suffering from a headache. He prescribed a formula to the other patient, as well as offering massage therapy.

nAfter Wang Yao had finished treating the two patients, he heard a prompt from the system that he could upgrade.

nHuh! Finally!

n“Tell me what happened?” Tian Yuantu asked after the two patients had gone.

nWang Yao told Tian Yuantu everything.

n“I see. Let me make a phone call,” Tian Yuantu said. He called someone right away.

n“OK, thank you,” Tian Yuantu replied on the phone.

nAfter he had hung up, he made another phone call.

n“Hello, Mr. Dai. It’s me, Yuantu. Sorry to trouble you,” Tian Yuantu said. “Right, Dr. Wang has been compliant with all the medical regulations. You know, he has seen Secretary Yang’s mother.”

n“I see, ask Dr. Wang not to worry. Leave it to me.” Deputy Chief Dai dialed another number after he had hung up.

n“Is Zhang Zaicheng in? Ask him to come to my office now,” Deputy Chief Dai said.

nA chubby middle-aged man trotted downstairs in the Health Department. He got into the car waiting outside.

n“Go to Deputy Chief Dai’s office, and hurry up,” Zhang Zaicheng said.

nHe didn’t know why Deputy Chief Dai wanted to see him. Deputy Chief Dai didn’t sound happy on the phone. He tried his best to recall what he had done at work recently but couldn’t find any problem.

nDeputy Chief Dai was in charge of The Health and Education departments. The decision had been made at a higher level that he would be the next chief of the county. Zhang Zaicheng knew it, so he was keen to impress Deputy Chief Dai.

nZhang Zaicheng went into Deputy Chief Dai’s office and knew immediately why he was there.

nOh, I see, it’s because of him!

n“Leave it to me,” Zhang Zaicheng promised. He made a phone call as soon as he returned to the Health Department.

n“My office, now,” Zhang Zaicheng said on the phone.

n“Do you two have brains? Why should I spoon feed you everything!” Zhang Zaicheng reprimanded the two officers who canceled Wang Yao’s business license.

nDeputy Chief Dai was a standing committee member of the local Communist Party. The other deputy chief was just a senior officer not worth mentioning. Zhang Zaicheng surely knew who he should impress.

n“What should we do then?” one of the officers asked.

n“Give him the license back!” Zhang Zaicheng shouted. “And, apologize!”

n“What?” the officer said in shock.

n“You can’t do it?” Zhang Zaicheng asked.

n“Yes, we’ll do whatever you ask us to do,” the officer said.

n“Do it right now! Let me know the outcome before you are off duty,” Zhang Zaicheng said.

nThe two officers took out the revoked business license and drove to the village. It was now after 4 p.m.

n“What the hell is going on?” one of the officers cursed.

n
