“I think we should notify Dr. Wang,” Uncle Lin said after thinking for a moment. “What if there is an incident?”

No one could guarantee that no incident would happen. If any one of Wang Yao’s family was injured, or his clinic was damaged, how would they explain to Wang Yao?

Sun Zhengrong didn’t say anything. He tried to make a decision. “Well, I’ll call him.”

He picked the phone and dialed Wang Yao’s number. He then told Wang Yao everything on the phone.

“What?” Wang Yao was shocked. He started to worry about his family.

After he hung up, he called his parents right away to make sure they were fine. He asked his parents to leave the village immediately. Then, he went to talk to Chen Ying.

“I need to go back to my village as soon as possible. Can you arrange it for me?” Wang Yao asked.

“Sure. What happened, Dr. Wang?” Chen Ying could tell something was happening in Wang Yao’s village since he looked so anxious.

“There might be criminals coming to my village today. I’m concerned about my family,” Wang Yao said.

“I’ll arrange the trip for you right now,” Chen Ying replied.

She went out without thinking and arranged Wang Yao’s trip as fast as she could.

“Dr. Wang, I’ve arranged your trip. You will take the train to Wei first. When you arrive in Wei, a car will pick you up and drive you back to the village. The whole trip will take about five and a half hours,” Chen Ying said.

“Thank you,” Wang Yao said.

Chen Ying reported Wang Yao’s trip to Song Ruiping.

“Criminals? What is exactly happening? What is the police department doing over there? Why should he deal with those criminals in person?” Song Ruiping asked. Wang Yao had finally came to see her daughter, who was getting better and better every day. Why wouldn’t she be upset that Wang Yao had to go home in such short notice?

“Apparently, it was an urgent situation. I didn’t have time to ask him for details,” Chen Ying said.

“OK. I’ll leave you to deal with it. Call me if you need me,” Song Ruiping said.

“Yes, Ma’am,” Chen Ying replied.

Wang Yao got onto the earliest train. He looked through the window. It was getting dark outside. He called his parents again. Zhang Xiuying and Wang Fenghua had gone to his grandparents’ house. He breathed a sigh of relief.

“What is happening?” Wang Fenghua asked on the other side of the phone.

“It’s complicated. I’ll explain to you when I’m back,” Wang Yao said.

While Wang Yao was on the train, a number of cars were speeding along the highway from Dao to the village.

In the evening, a few villagers taking a stroll outside noticed several cars with Dao number plates enter the village. A number of people got out of those cars. They were all strong male adults carrying suitcases.

“What are they doing here?” The villagers were surprised.

Then, they saw most of those people went into Sun Yunsheng’s house.

“Master, our men have arrived at Yunsheng’s house. Dr. Wang’s parents have left the village,” Uncle Lin said.

“Good,” Sun Zhengrong said.

It was getting late. A car was running on the pathway to the village. Ahem! Ahem! A person was coughing in the car.

“Are we close to the village?” an old man asked.

“Yes,” the driver said.

“Stop the car here,” the old man said.

The car stopped. Several people got out of the car.

“Let’s walk there,” the old man said.

“Teacher, are you OK to walk that far?” Zhao Yinghao asked with concern.

“I’m fine with a bit of walk,” the old man said.

It was a cold and windy night. The old man and his students were walking toward the village.

There were not many cars and pedestrians on the road in such kind of weather, let alone the village was quite isolated.

The old man was walking slowly, but for whatever reason, he didn’t cough that badly.

“Teacher, the village is just in front,” Huang Chaoyang said.

“Chaoyang, you go and take a look at the village first,” the old man said.

“OK, please wait here for me.” Huang Chaoyang didn’t take the common route. He went into the bush next to the hill. Following some rustling sound, he disappeared.

The lights were on in most households in the village. Sun Yunsheng’s house was quite distinguished among all the other houses. His house was like a red flower among green leaves.

That’s it! Huang Chaoyang followed the small paths in the hill to enter the village quietly.

Woof! Woof! Woof! Dogs started to bark.

“Keep quiet!” The dogs seemed to understand him. They immediately stopped barking.

Um? He stopped next to Sun Yunsheng’s house.

“You are here!”

He saw the hidden bodyguards outside the two houses. He turned around and entered the bush again.

At the same time, another car was running fast on the highway.

“Can you drive a bit faster?” Sun Zhengrong asked.

“OK,” the driver said.

The car was like a leopard hunting at full speed in the dark.

“Master, you don’t have to put yourself in danger. I can stay with Yunsheng,” Uncle Lin said.

“I’m worried about Yunsheng. Plus, what happened was because of me,” he replied.

The recent dealing with his enemies made him realize how horrible those people were. If he couldn’t get rid of them completely and allowed them to recover, they would cause bigger trouble next time. They would probably be able to kill him in one shot.

One must be thorough in exterminating evils. Sun Zhengrong knew this.

“Teacher, I’ve found where Sun Yunsheng is,” the skinny man said after he followed the same pathway back to meet with his teacher and junior fellow.

“OK, let’s go and have a look,” the old man said.

“Are we taking the pathway on the hill?” the skinny man asked.

“Yes,” the old man replied.

The old man seemed to walk slowly due to his age, but he was very steady. His speed was not affected by the uneven pathway on the hill. On the contrary, he walked faster on the hill. It was late at night. The pathway on the hill was different to the roads outside. It was uneven and surrounded by trees and rocks.

They soon arrived at a corner of the village. Looking from where they were, they could see Sun Yunsheng’s house clearly.

“Can you see the bodyguards?” the old man asked.

“Yes, some of them were hiding. I can see at least seven people,” the skinny man said.

“Did you alarm them?” the old man asked.

“No,” the skinny man said.

The old man didn’t take any action. He just stood quietly under a tree.

“Teacher?” the skinny man asked.

“Do you think it’s a trap?” the old man asked in low voice.

“A trap?” the skinny man asked. “That’s possible. Let me go and check.”

“Be careful. They probably brought guns with them,” the old man said.

“Sure,” the skinny man said before disappearing in the darkness.

Ahem! Ahem! Sounds of coughing came from the hill. The old man took out a small bottle out of a sack. He took several pills out of the bottle and swallowed them.

“Hao, what’s next?” one of Sun Zhengrong’s men asked.

“They are here. Let’s wait,” Hao replied.

“OK, let’s wait,” the other man said.

The village seemed to be peaceful. Most of the villagers were lying on their bed and chatting or watching TV. None of them had the faintest idea of what was going on in the village.

“Someone’s here,” Hao said alertly.

“Where?” one of Sun Zhengrong’s men asked.

No! A shadow flashed in the lane and moved toward the bush rapidly. It suddenly disappeared. It was as fast as a running rabbit.

“Teacher, they saw me,” the skinny man said.

“Well, let’s see what they are going to do,” the old man said.

He and his two students saw a dozen of people rushing out of Sun Yunsheng’s two houses. All of the people were armed.

“Look at them. Sun Zhengrong really took us seriously,” the old man said.

No one could imagine that so many people in an isolated village had guns with them. Even if anyone reported this to the local government, the Police Department would definitely be in trouble.

“Action!” the old man exclaimed.

Two people came out of the woods and lit something. Suddenly, the air was full of mild scent.

Plump! Plump!

People, dogs and cows fell to the ground in the dark.

“No. 3, speaking! No. 3, speaking!” a person shouted at a walkie-talkie.

“No. 3, speaking! No. 5, speaking!” He kept shouting. “Hao, they are here and have knocked a few of us down.”

“They were using the fan. Ask them to be careful and wear the masks,” Hao said.

They were well-prepared and took out masks.

Om! Something flew out in the dark.

“Watch out! The poisonous insects are everywhere!” Hao yelled.

“Chaoyang, you’ll hurt innocent people,” Yinghao said.

“Since when you’ve become so soft? My dear junior fellow, they’ve got guns,” the skinny man sarcastically said. “How about I just watch you handle them?”

“Humph!” Zhao Yinghao and Huang Chaoyang separated in the dark.

In a few minutes, a dozen of Sun Zhengrong’s men all fell to the ground and passed out.

“Incredible!” Hao had no facial expression.

“What can we do next?” Sun Yunsheng was worried. Most of their men had been knocked down. They didn’t have many people left.

“Wait,” Hao said. He didn’t seem to have anything else to say.

A person hopped over the tall wall o and landed in the yard without any sound. Two strong men were knocked down in the yard. The person went to check their breath. They were still breathing. They just had passed out.

The lights were on in the house. Crackling! The door was pushed open slightly as two sparks were thrown into the house.

The person stood at the corner of the wall and waited. After counting to 10, he pushed the door and entered the room.

Crackling!

Who are you? Who are you? Are you my silly girl? I can’t see your red face… The person could hear the classic tune from the radio.

Two people were lying on the ground. He took a look at their faces, but they were not the person he was looking for. He entered another room.

Puff! He heard a muffled sound. No! His face changed.

Pitta-patter! He broke the window to get out of the room. However, he was losing his strength before he landed on the ground.

Poison! He knew something was not right immediately. He didn’t expect his enemies would poison him.

The same thing happened in another room of the house. The skinny man quickly took a pill out of his pocket and swallowed it. “Gee, you are so low,” he said.

Plump! Zhao Yinghao fell onto the ground.

“Have they gone?” Sun Yunsheng asked.

“Yes,” Hao replied.

“How about our men?” Sun Yunsheng asked.

“Most of them have passed out,” Hao said. “Master Sun, let’s go to a different place.”

“A different place?” Sun Yunsheng asked.

“Yes, it’s too dangerous here,” Hao said.

In the field, Zhao Yinghao woke up and saw a face with a scary smile.

“Hi, my junior fellow, you are finally awake.”
