nIn the palace hall where Huangfu Chaoge was, Foundation Deity City:
nGu Hai chatted with Huangfu Chaoge, who was in the pool of ice, about the battle at the frontlines.
nWhen Huangfu Chaoge heard that Gu Hai had brought Long Wanyu to the lifespan ritual array, he suddenly became excited.
n“You met Mister Dongfang? What did he say? Are Long Xiaoyue’s heavenly soul and earthly soul still around? Can she be revived?” Huangfu Chaoge stood up in excitement.
nGu Hai remained silent for a while.
nHuangfu Chaoge seemed to have guessed the results already. However, anticipation still filled his eyes, the hope that Gu Hai would give an unexpected answer.
nUnfortunately, that was the truth, so Gu Hai did not hide it. Hence, he described what happened in detail.
nSplash!
nHuangfu Chaoge dropped back into the pool of ice in disappointment.
n“Ha! Her souls got destroyed? Long Xiaoyue’s souls got completely destroyed? Duke Lu Yang? Lu Yang…!” Huangfu Chaoge clenched his teeth, his eyes wet.
nIt seemed like Huangfu Chaoge could no longer hear anything else, so Gu Hai stopped, as he understood that Huangfu Chaoge needed time to digest this information.
nHuangfu Chaoge’s eyes reddened, brimming with tears.
n“Mister Gu, I would like to be alone,” Huangfu Chaoge said, his voice quivering.
n“Alright!” Gu Hai nodded and stepped out of the palace hall.
nCreak!
nThe palace hall’s doors closed.
n“Wah!
n“Xiaoyue…!”
nOnce alone, Huangfu Chaoge cried in sorrow and despair.
n——
nOutside, the Divine Foundation Royal Dynasty generals were still beating up the Fire Locust Deity, wanting to force out the method to treat Hanba’s poison, but they got nothing so far.
n“Let me do it.” Gu Hai walked over.
n“Mister Gu!” The generals respectfully made way.
n“Ensnaring Performance, come over!” Gu Hai called out.
n“Master?” Ensnaring Performance looked at Gu Hai, feeling puzzled.
n“Sing to the Fire Locust Deity; torture it. Force out the treatment method to save Huangfu Chaoge,” Gu Hai instructed.
nEnsnaring Performance immediately showed an unsightly expression. “Master, that is not torture. That is a pleasure!”
n“Just go. Hurry!” Gu Hai kicked Ensnaring Performance in the butt.
n“Alright!” Ensnaring Performance walked over unhappily to sing to the Fire Locust Deity.
n“Oh, right. Set up a sound barrier for everyone else. Make sure that only you and the Fire Locust Deity can hear you,” Gu Hai instructed.
n“I’m not happy about this at all.” Ensnaring Performance nodded while feeling depressed.
nThe Divine Foundation Royal Dynasty officials could not understand. However, since Gu Hai gave the instruction, they had full confidence in it.
nMany chains held down the Fire Locust Deity, and its dantian was sealed. It could not commit suicide even if it wanted to.
nHowever, it had stubbornly endured the Divine Foundation Royal Dynasty generals’ beating earlier.
n“Humph! His Majesty will take revenge for me. You want me to speak? In your dreams!” the Fire Locust Deity said coldly.
n“Not to mention that I don’t know, even if I did, I wouldn’t say it. Humph! Kill me if you can. Hahahahaha!” the Fire Locust Deity laughed with a ferocious expression.
n“Aren’t you very stubborn? Let’s see how long you can last!” Gu Hai said coldly.
n“Humph!” the Fire Locust Deity snorted coldly.
nEnsnaring Performance approached and set up a sound barrier for everyone with a wave of his hand. Then, he started singing to the Fire Locust Deity.
nSinging?
nMany of the officials did not understand. However, some of the generals’ expressions changed drastically; those generals had been at the Heptagold Sect and knew how Ensnaring Performance had worn down the sword-toothed tiger.
nThe Fire Locus Deity looked at Ensnaring Performance with disdain, showing a cold smile.
nHowever, the moment Ensnaring Performance opened his mouth, the Fire Locust Deity’s cold smile suddenly froze. Then, it promptly shivered as all its bristles stood on end.
n“What’s wrong? Why is the Fire Locust Deity showing such a reaction?” The officials appeared confused.
nThose generals who knew what was going on did not find it convenient to explain. Right now, Ensnaring Performance was helping to save the emperor. Could they reveal that Ensnaring Performance’s singing was terrible? That would be a slap to Ensnaring Performance’s face, so they could only hold back this information.
nSoon, Ensnaring Performance became engrossed in his singing.
nAs the Fire Locust Deity listened, its mind crumbled.
n“Stop singing! Stop singing! I surrender! I surrender! Alright?!” the Fire Locust Deity immediately called out in despair.
nHowever, since Ensnaring Performance had set up a sound barrier, the others could not hear the Fire Locust Deity; only Ensnaring Performance could.
n“Of course not. I am not done singing yet. I have prepared twenty songs for you. Continue listening,” Ensnaring Performance rejected, appearing unhappy.
n“What?! There are twenty songs?” The Fire Locust Deity showed horror in its eyes.
nThe Fire Locust Deity gazed at Ensnaring Performance in despair. However, how could Ensnaring Performance let it go before he finished singing?
nThus, Ensnaring Performance continued singing. The Fire Locust Deity gaped in horror. It turned its head to look at the officials outside the sound barrier with a pleading expression.
nThe officials pointed excitedly.
n“Quickly, look! Quickly, look! Look at the Fire Locust Deity’s expression. It is afraid!”
n“He really is afraid. Ensnaring Performance is really incredible!”
n“There should be no problems, then!”
nThe Fire Locust Deity cried out in despair, “I’ll speak! I’ll say everything! Quickly stop him! Stop the singing!”
nThe officials just smiled excitedly, unable to hear the Fire Locust Deity’s voice.
nBlargh!
nWhen Ensnaring Performance reached the fifth song, the Fire Locust Deity vomited, completely weakened.
nAs a professional, Ensnaring Performance naturally would not get affected by the Fire Locust Deity. He continued singing.
nBy the ninth song, the Fire Locust Deity’s eyes had already lost focus, and it started foaming at the mouth.
n“Alright. Ensnaring Performance, you can stop!” Gu Hai could no longer keep watching.
nWhile those outside the sound barrier could not hear the sounds inside, those inside could hear the sounds outside.
n“Master, he is not done listening yet!” Ensnaring Performance said, feeling somewhat reluctant.
nAfter a few songs, Ensnaring Performance’s mood had improved from the initial unhappiness. He truly could not bear to stop singing.
nGu Hai: “…”
nEnsnaring Performance finally stopped after Gu Hai insisted.
nWhen the singing stopped, the Fire Locust Deity shivered but immediately felt better.
nThen, Ensnaring Performance removed the sound barrier.
n“Fire Locust Deity, are you willing to speak now?” Gu Hai asked indifferently.
n“I’ll speak! I’ll speak! I’ll answer any questions you have!” the Fire Locust Deity said in fear.
nThe generals felt speechless. Does only the soft approach work on the Fire Locust Deity? We beat it up for so long, but it refused to speak. Ensnaring Performance only sang for a while, and it is willing to spill everything?
n“How do we treat Hanba’s poison in Huangfu Chaoge?” Gu Hai asked.
n“I…I don’t know.” The Fire Locust Deity shook its head.
n“Ensnaring Performance!” Gu Hai called out.
n“Don’t! Don’t! Don’t! I’ll speak. There’s a Grave Valley of Death in my Huang Royal Dynasty. Every century, a wisp of Hanba’s fire poison appears in the Grave Valley of Death. I managed to collect that wisp by coincidence. I know nothing else about it,” the Fire Locust Deity blurted out in horror.
n“Oh? Grave Valley of Death? What is in there?” Gu Hai asked in a heavy voice.
n“I don’t know!”
n“Huh?” Gu Hai said coldly.
n“I really don’t know. All who entered the Grave Valley of Death died. There is black energy covering it; we cannot look inside at all. Back then, His Majesty used the dragon vein to try and scout it. However, even the dragon vein got injured. We do not dare go in. I really don’t know!” the Fire Locust Deity protested in horror.
n“You describe it. You lot, take charge of making a map!” Gu Hai ordered.
n“Yes!” the generals answered.
nSoon, a map of the Grave Valley of Death appeared before Gu Hai.
n“Mister…Mister Gu, what about His Majesty’s poison?” one of the officials asked worriedly.
n“We can only do our best,” Gu Hai sighed softly as he clutched the map.
nAfter that, some of the officials continued questioning the Fire Locust Deity, getting information on various things.
nAfter all the questions were done, Gu Hai looked at the Fire Locust Deity.
n“Fire Locust Deity, I’ll give you one chance to live,” Gu Hai said.
n“Oh? You are not going to kill me?” the Fire Locust Deity exclaimed.
n“I can spare you. However, I need the fire deity. Cooperate with me and use your fire deity to open my heart aperture. Then, I can spare you from death,” Gu Hai said gravely.
n“You will spare me from death? That’s impossible. Hahaha! That’s impossible!” the Fire Locust Deity laughed skeptically.
n“My—Gu Hui’s—word is as good as gold,” Gu Hai said seriously.
nThe Fire Locust Deity stared at Gu Hai as though trying to make out whether Gu Hai was lying or not.
n“In fact, I don’t need your agreement to force out your fire deity. I have Ensnaring Performance; he can slowly force your fire deity out. However, I am giving you a chance now. I won’t kill you. I only want the fire deity. Get it to cooperate with me,” Gu Hai said seriously.
nThe Fire Locust Deity stared at Gu Hai for quite a while before eventually nodding. “Alright, alright. The fire deity? Hahaha! I’ll give it to you.”
nGu Hai nodded.
nThe Fire Locust Deity’s forehead gave off a faint flash.
nBuzz!
nRed energy poured out of the Fire Locust Deity’s body.
nWhen the fire deity came out, a fiery light illuminated the surroundings. The heat immediately forced the officials to back away.
nAfter coming out, the fire deity immediately entered Gu Hai’s body. Gu Hai did not resist, letting it enter.
nThe instant the fire deity entered Gu Hai’s body, the Fire Locust Deity showed a ferocious expression and laughed, “Hahahaha! You still want my fire deity after you exterminated my entire race? Gu Hai, do you think I will believe that you will spare me? The fire deity has been passed down in my fire locust race for close to twenty thousand years already. How could I just give it to you? After killing my locust descendants and wanting to kill me, do you think I will agree to that? Fire deity, after you enter Gu Hai’s body, burn him! Take revenge for my descendants. Kill him! Kill him!”
nThe Fire Locust Deity gave a savage roar.
n“You dastardly thing! Mister Gu is sparing you, but you harm him instead?”
n“Beat this bastard to death!”
n“Kill him!”
nThe Divine Foundation Royal Dynasty generals showed great hatred on their faces as they attacked the Fire Locust Deity together.
nBoom!
nThese generals heavily struck the Fire Locust Deity, further injuring it. It looked like it would die soon.
nHowever, the Fire Locust Deity kept its eyes fixed on Gu Hai, hoping to see him burned before it died.
n“Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar!”
nSuddenly, five dragon roars came from Gu Hai’s body. Then, five huge dragon images appeared and suppressed the red light at his heart.
nGu Hai did not evince any pain. Instead, he said coldly, “Fire Locust Deity, I gave you an opportunity, but you did not treasure it. Burn me to death? Haha! Your fire deity is incredible, but do you think that it is undefeatable?”
nGu Hai ignored the Fire Locust Deity and walked away, then sat down cross-legged nearby.
nThe area around Gu Hai’s heart gave off heat and a fiery-red light. The fire deity’s consciousness was not gone yet; it kept trying to burn Gu Hai. Unfortunately, there were five other energies in his body that were no weaker.
nThis was especially so for the purple dragon’s Spiritual Progenitor and the blue dragon’s water-attributed Veritable Essence. Water countered fire, and the Spiritual Progenitor suppressed everything.
nThe five dragons suppressing the fire deity destroyed its consciousness immediately and forced the fire deity to the heart.
nBoom!
nThe heart aperture burst open with a loud report.
n
