nZhuo Junli couldn’t hear what the two of them were talking about, but he could see that Shi Qing was smiling in satisfaction with his face very close to Lu Tao’s.

nHe even patted Lu Tao on the shoulder with his right hand.

nThe youth’s eyes darkened. He watched silently as Shi Qing walked over after finishing his conversation.

nThe school bully had an easy smile on his face. “It’s settled then. Counting me there’s almost seventeen people coming to class. You can handle it, right?”

nZhuo Junli shook his head. “No worries.”

nHe casually took Shi Qing’s right hand and gently wiped it with a tissue.

n“It’s a bit dirty. Let me wipe it for you,” said Zhuo Junli as he glanced at Lu Tao.

n“He doesn’t seem to be very clean. Don’t touch him so much in the future.”

nThe school bully didn’t doubt him at all. He even turned around to yell at the despondent Lu Tao, “Can’t you be cleaner?! My hand’s so dirty from patting you!”

nLu Tao dazedly stared at his clean school uniform. …Wuwuwu.

nAnd so, the tutoring sessions were set.

nThe next day after lunch, Shi Qing announced that all the boys who hung out with him were to bring their books and come to tutoring.

nThey had a group chat, but only a select few could hide their phones under the sharp eyes of the teachers.

nIt wasn’t hard to smuggle in a phone; the difficulty came from not being able to bring it to class.

nAll of the lackeys reacted in the same way when they heard that their boss was actually taking them to be tutored.

nLackey One: …

nLackey Two: …

nLackey Three: …

nLackey One: …

nLackey One: Ma Qin got his phone confiscated. He took my phone to send that message.

nThe group chat was filled with howls of despair.

nThen, one of the smarter lackeys asked a question.

nShi-ge, there’s no room big enough to fit all of us at lunch. Why don’t I step out of the plan so it’s easier to find a room?

nYeah yeah, maybe I shouldn’t go as well. The classrooms are all quite crowded at lunchtime.

nRight right, I’m not going either. Shi-ge can just take the rest of them. Don’t worry about me. I’m willing to make the sacrifice.

nWe don’t get much time at lunch to begin with. I eat extra slow so it takes me over an hour to finish.

nShi Qing laughed.

nLaozi’s the Number One Boss: Fine. Come to the rooftop everyday after school then. There’s no need to eat because I’ll have someone deliver food.

nBring all your textbooks as well. Don’t forget about pencils and paper. We’re having an assessment today. If anyone dares to get a big fat zero, I’ll beat you up until your head looks like a big fat zero!

nIt’s settled then. Tell the others. I’ll personally take any stragglers to the roof. You all know how well I can fight. If it comes to that, the roof wouldn’t be a place of learning anymore.

nThe lackeys: …

nRooftops weren’t meant to be a place of learning in the first place, okay?!

nAs we all know, throughout the years, the rooftop has always been the place where they all meet up to fight!

nYet in a twist that no one expected&#k2026;

nThis year, Chang Yin High’s school bully wouldn’t go to the roof to fight, but to study?!

nWhere was his sense of human decency?!

nNo matter how much they pleaded and whined, they were helpless against the boss’ absolute (martial) authority (ability). At lunchtime, a group of people in mourning gathered at the door to Shi Qing’s classroom.

nSo the following scene appeared in Chang Yin High School’s second year building.

n

n

nOutside a certain classroom, there were more than a dozen students standing.

nThese students were very distinctive from the rest.

nTheir school uniforms were poorly worn and tucked at their waist.

nSome had colourful dyed hair and sticks stuck in their mouths.

nSome had intimidating tattoos on their necks.

nThe most important thing was that they all radiated an oppressive aura.

nIt was frightening to even look at.

nThe students in Shi Qing’s class who didn’t go downstairs quick enough to eat were now too scared to do so. They warily considered the delinquents blocking the doorway. No one dared to get up.

nHowever, the instigator, Shi Qing, was slowly packing his bag. Then he put his arm around Zhuo Junli’s shoulders.

n“Okay, everyone’s here. Let’s go.”

nTo the students who remained in the class, it looked like the pitiful Top Student Zhuo Junli, who was constantly harassed by the school bully, was wordlessly being dragged out of the classroom.

nHe was even holding a book in his hand!

nThis was insane!

nBefore, Shi Qing only brought three or four lackeys with him at most if he didn’t just go himself.

nBut he’s gone too far this time! Why bring more than a dozen people to attack?!

nAs soon as the group left, the students who didn’t dare to even squeak, came out of the classroom and crowded around the railings to look downstairs.

nIt was only after a while that they saw the group walking across the school’s courtyard.

nThey saw around twenty people huddled together. Every single one was carrying a heavy looking bag, filled with who knows what tools of evil.

nWithin the tall group of fierce delinquents with colourful hair and tattoos, the uniform-wearing, book-holding, white and clean Zhuo Junli was unusually conspicuous.

nTo describe it in one sentence, it was like a group of big bad wolves walking together with a little white rabbit.

nThe students felt a chill run down their spines as the group headed towards the building across the street where students often fought on the rooftop.

nZhuo Junli was going to be turned into rabbit meat!

nImmediately, the most righteous student in the class flew down the stairs….

n—He had to tell the teachers!

nWhen he arrived at their office, there was a group of people arguing inside. Some of them looked like parents. There were a few boys wearing the uniforms of other high schools arguing as well.

n“Look at my hand, my leg, and my butt! It hurt so much that I couldn’t sleep last night!”

n“Yeah! We didn’t do anything to him! But he made up an excuse to jump us!”

nThe parents were heartbroken over their children as their anger became fury.

n“Look at that! Look what he did! My kid’s been beaten like this, ah! You can’t just ignore my kid because he’s not from this school!”

n“You have to expel him! He’s a student so he’s supposed to be studying! Not going around beating people up! If you don’t expel him, I’m putting in a complaint with the Board of Education!”

nThere were also helpless teachers trying to fend them off. “Calm down first. Calm down, okay? Let’s try to resolve things peacefully.”

n“Peacefully my ass! Look at what happened to my child!”

nThe student who came to alert the teacher looked at the chaos in front of him. He mustered the courage to go to his homeroom teacher who was talking to the parents.

n“Teacher…”

nThe homeroom teacher took a moment to turn to him. “Wait a moment. Whatever it is, it can wait.”

nThis student was obedient, so he patiently waited for five minutes, but they continued to argue. He was afraid that the good-natured Zhuo Junli who let his classmates copy his homework would be crippled if he waited anymore, so he carefully poked his homeroom teacher.

n“Teacher, Shi Qing gathered a dozen people and took Zhuo Junli to the rooftop across the street…”

n“What?!”

nThe voice of the frazzled homeroom teacher suddenly became eight times louder.

nThe parent who was tearing into them froze, then rejoiced. “Shi Qing! It’s Shi Qing, right?! My son said it was this Shi Qing who beat them!”

n“He’s taken more than a dozen students to beat someone up, so what else is there to say? Even if you want to cover for him, you have to be reasonable!”

n

n

nThe injured brats spoke up too, “Yeah! Look at how overbearing he is!”

n“Mom, I’m telling you, Shi Qing was already good at fighting before he transferred. Nothing is off limits to him!”

n“But this is a new low even for him. He’s ganging up on a single person to this degree!”

nThe student who complained was also shocked.

nHe never thought that he would meet others that also came to complain about Shi Qing.

nOne of the smarter parents was already pulling on his arm. “The rooftop you’re talking about, is it the one across the street from here?”

n“If your school won’t deal with it, we’ll take matters into our own hands! I’m going to record that student fighting and bullying his classmates right now! We’ll see if you guys will still stand there idly when I post it online!”

nWatching these parents from other schools run off with their kids, the homeroom teacher felt like he was going crazy.

n“Eh?! Wait a minute!”

nHe rubbed his bald spot and hysterically questioned his student. “What’s going on? Weren’t Shi Qing and Zhuo Junli getting along? They seemed just fine in class everyday! They even come in and go out together!”

nHe was just thinking recently that his job had become much easier now that Shi Qing was on good terms with Zhuo Junli. The top student’s good habits seemed to rub off on the school bully, who now listened well in class, and did all his homework too.

nHow did it become like this?!

nThe student also didn’t know. He took a flustered step back. “The only thing I know for sure is that Zhuo Junli was taken away. Shi Qing’s long-time followers were all there. That’s almost twenty people.”

n“Twenty?! Fuck me, why can’t these brats just behave themselves for once?!”

nThe homeroom teacher freaked out and quickly called his colleagues to go after those parents together.

nHe couldn’t imagine Shi Qing actually beating anyone, let alone Zhuo Junli.

nThe two of them were obviously quite affectionate. Shi Qing even teased Zhuo Junli under their desks during class by tugging on his hands and what not.

nBut the most important thing was to suppress this matter before it gets big.

nIf this was blown out of proportion, their school was finished.

nSo the following scene appeared in the school:

nThere were almost ten parents running in front, with nearly ten teachers chasing after them while shouting.

n“Wait a minute! Let’s just calm down okay?! This is our school’s business, we’ll handle it ourselves!”

nHowever, in the end, the two groups reached the rooftop one after the other.

nThe leader delinquent was gleefully waiting for his revenge to be complete.

nHe squeezed to the front. “Mom! Watch me kick the door down!”

n—Boom!!!

nThe rooftop door was kicked open.

nThe same way it had been kicked in countless times before by students looking for a fight.

n“It’s over…”

nThe homeroom teacher rubbed his soon to be completely bald head and sorrowfully covered his eyes.

nIt was over.

nBut for some reason he didn’t hear anything.

nHe dropped his hand in a daze and took a look.

nHe saw the students, parents, and teachers staring ahead in utter silence.

nIt was tradition for fights to take place on the rooftop. No matter how many times the door was locked, students pried it open to meet up. Now there were more than a dozen students sitting on the floor with books in their hands and lunch boxes next to them.

nSome of them still had food in their mouths. Others were nibbling on a pen.

nWhen they heard the noise, they all turned their heads and looked over with puzzled faces.

nIn front of them was Zhuo Junli. He was standing next to a small blackboard with a math problem written on it. His left hand had a book and his other hand had a piece of chalk. His white and clean face stared blankly at them.

nTime seemed to stand still.

nA few seconds later—Shi Qing—who was seated in the very middle of the pack, was the first to react. He stood up with his book and a displeased expression.

n“What’s all this noise for?”

n“Can’t you see we’re studying? Shame on you for polluting our learning environment.”
