Chapter 353 - “Critical Attack” Talent!
“Big Brother Feng?”
Colorless Azure, the female Doctor player who was recovering his condition, saw Watermelon Skin’s delighted expression and paused before turning to follow his gaze!
“Watermelon, Azure? So it’s all of you!” Seeing the two players outside, Feng Luo’s expression was similarly surprised. He certainly did not think that the Watermelon Skin that Skynet had previously mentioned was a team member of My World and the others whom he had just met yesterday.
“Big Brother Feng, you still remember!”
At that moment, Watermelon Skin had already walked in together with Azure, suddenly excited upon hearing Feng Luo’s words. It was almost the same feeling of honor and joy as having one’s name remembered by an idol.
After all, from the situation before, Watermelon Skin was determined to practise his shooting until he was as good as Feng Luo because of that Scout. He never thought that in the next moment, he would actually “see” his motivation in person!
“Big Brother Feng!”
Azure also had delight on her face — since the Scout was previously arguing with Watermelon Skin with all sorts of disgusting tones, she, as a friend, similarly had felt wronged for Watermelon Skin.
But with their team’s peasant equipment, facing an opponent with much more luxurious equipment would be quite difficult, even if they all were to PK. After all, the advantage of equipment in the game was still, to a certain extent, dependent on personal technique.
However, Feng Luo was not only top notch with his technique, but he also owned the most top notch in equipment. Especially after everyone had fought monsters together the day before, considering the Scout today who could only rely on good equipment for output, Azure knew that Feng Luo definitely had the ability to toy with that Scout.
“Hey, Big Brother Feng, why’re you wearing Light Armored Warrior equipment?”
Thinking to this point, Azure looked closely and realized that what Feng Luo was wearing now was not the Rare-Grade combat uniform from yesterday, but actually a set of blueish-black light armor.
“I’ll explain later. The situation is tight, I won’t talk to you all any longer. I’m already close by and will get to where you all are at in a moment!
“These three people are all my shop staff. Please help to take care of them and you must not let them get into any trouble. After we leave Silvermoon City, I’ll definitely thank you!”
Seeing that all three NPCs were completely unharmed, Feng Luo was already relieved, but he was not completely relaxed as he still had to rush there in time.
“Big Brother Feng, don’t be so courteous. If it wasn’t for you yesterday, we definitely would’ve had two people dead…We’ll definitely protect—” Watermelon Skin fought to speak before Azure could open her mouth, but his words were cut off halfway as the image flickered and Feng Luo had vanished.
“The signal isn’t good. It’s been cut off.” Azure creased her forehead, then complained as she glared at Watermelon Skin. “Watermelon, what’s up with you? You think I’ll agree to Brother Feng’s reward?”
“Hehe, no. I just…” Watermelon Skin shook his head, his mood that was initially ruined by the scout player was now strangely relaxed.
“Azure? Where are you? Someone needs a Buffing Potion!” My World yelled from outside the platform.
“Alright!”
Azure glared once more at Watermelon Skin before picking up her medical kit and hurriedly walking out, leaving the Watermelon Skin inside to chat with and get to know the three players. When they had accepted this mission previously, they had also met Skynet and the others in the mission but had never actually asked the three NPC players who their shop owner player was.
“Never thought it’d be so coincidental that it’d be Brother Feng’s shop…”
While applying a lasting Combined Buffing Potion on another casual player, Azure told My World about this interesting matter.
“Such a coincidence! Initially I had regretted accepting this mission. If not for it, Orange the two of them wouldn’t have…” My World also had surprise on his face.
“Big Brother World, don’t blame this on accepting the mission. It was the two of them who couldn’t handle it themselves and forcibly went offline. Although I’ve switched off my gory visual mode and reduced my realism level by 50%, the plot indeed makes people uncomfortable. If I weren’t personally studying Medicine, I probably wouldn’t be able to stand it either!”
“Honestly speaking, I actually doubt such a strange plot in this game. Not mentioning anything else, a plot of such subjective taste, no matter what, shouldn’t be appearing on a Federation-promoted nationwide game!”
Azure looked across to the linkway full of bloodstains at the zombie corpse which had thousands of holes from being shot by skills and bullets, her face uncontrollably turning pale once again.
“What’s strange about the game having such a plot?” she asked. “Isn’t the point of playing such a highly realistic game to stimulate the senses? If not, why play a simulation game at all? Besides, it’s not that there are no restrictions; players of 14-years-old and below wouldn’t be able to enter specific regions without passing some tests.”
“Furthermore, sight and senses are adjustable. You just have to make these characters pixelated and you wouldn’t have such a huge reaction, Little Sister Azure!” Just then, the arrogant Scout from before walked over with a smile on his face. Meeting the beautiful Azure in a doctor’s uniform, his expression was completely different from earlier.
“What have you come over for?” Azure creased her forehead, greeting the Scout with cold eyes.
“This platform is so big. I’m just walking up and down, using my Recon Meter to check if there are hidden zombies. Is that so bad? After all, typical Normal Recon Meters might not be capable of detecting some organisms with hiding ability… But as for that Sniper of yours, why do I still not see him?”
“Don’t you feel that you’re so great and think that Watermelon was lying? Wait and you’ll see what a true Sniper expert is!” With a cold face, even though Azure was not willing to bring out the true Sniper expert, she could not help mentioning it once more.
“Oh? Little Sister Azure, your words have made me believe it. It seems like you all really know an Expert-Grade Sniper player! But if he wants to kill me with output, that’s practically impossible. My Talent is Critical Attack — you can search up what it means on the forum.”
The Scout player did not look surprised but smiled once again instead.
“Critical Attack (Talent)”
“When causing damage to monsters of Commander-Grade and below, there will be a 10% rate of activating doubled critical attack damage, 5% rate of activating tripled damage, 1% rate of activating quadrupled damage, and 0.5% rate of activating five times the damage.”
Overall Evaluation: A
This was an extremely powerful Talent. In most cases, players needed to depend on their hidden luck attribute, whereby there was only a very small rate of being able to cause a golden critical attack coefficient. With this Talent, it was equivalent to having a 10% chance of hitting a golden critical attack coefficient, and there was even a chance to hit a supreme five times damage. If it were not for the fact that this Talent was only effective against monsters of Commander-Grade and below, it would have possibly even been an S-Grade Talent!
“You think your Talent is great? Well, Watermelon’s Talent is—”
“Azure!” Beside her, My World, who was similarly cold-faced, interrupted her.
“Hmph!” Azure stopped herself as if she had thought of something.
“My Talent is still not considered great? You mean the Talent of that Sniper of yours out there is greater than mine? Don’t tell me he has an S-Grade Talent…haha…” The Scout player laughed loudly, clearly unbelieving.
“F*ck! There’s something big nearby!”
After a Scout among the four casual players used Detection, a warning yellow light suddenly flashed on the Recon Meter, indicating a Commander-Grade monster. It was located only one level above where they were standing!
“Something’s off… Why are there suddenly so many threatening targets appearing? Its position is not far above us!”
Furthermore, besides the yellow light, there were also many yellow dots similarly representing mutant non-human monsters. In a hotel in Silvermoon City, how could there be such a huge number of monsters?
…
More than 700 meters from the Romanti Flower hotel, at the top of a low-level room, beside a Licker corpse with its heart pierced through by a military knife, Feng Luo had immediately held up his Eye of the Thunder the moment the Communicator was cut. Using its skill, he had already locked on the eye-catching flower-themed hotel building. Ultimately, the three NPCs were all safe and sound; even though he had wasted a little more time than he had estimated, at least he would still be able to make it on time.
Lowering his head, Feng Luo looked at the slow-moving, wandering zombies covering the entire street below. In a few spots, there was light from the skills of some players who were still battling.
After that, he disassembled the Eye of the Thunder and hung it on the weapon chain at the back of the Thunder equipment set. Lastly, he applied an MP potion and a Stamina Potion on himself before he jumped down like a bird.
“Thud!”
As he landed, his alloy combat shoes influenced by the mini-sized Energy Chip and the Biochip within his body absorbed a huge part of the force, and so his legs only bent slightly before standing firmly on the ground filled with bloodstains and all sorts of junk.
Then…Raging Charge, engaged!
The Level 35 Rare Charge skill with all-out speed, enhanced by Feng Luo’s super-high Agility, allowed him to speedily navigate between the ground and the tops of levitating hovercrafts. Along the way, the slow-moving zombies had only just felt that someone alive had come close before they had already vanished in the next instant.
There were even some group attack players with weaker sight who doubted their own eyes as he passed by.
