nChapter 52: The Threat of Mutated Zombies

nOn a floating island…

nThere were at least 100 zombie corpses piled up on said island, and among those were a few special ones.

nFor example, there was a huge zombie, at least 3 meters tall, and had greenish-gray skin that looked like a rock.

nThere was also a zombie with a kitchen knife. It looked like a middle-aged woman, but it was extremely ugly and ferocious.

nThere was also a Fire Launcher, which had caused quite a bit of trouble to Enoch.

nThese were all special zombie corpses!

nThese zombies were all dead now, and each one of them had a wound on their necks. Their heads were severed, but the last bit of skin on the back of their necks held them together, and they didn’t fall off.

nThis was an excellent level of swordsmanship. That person must possess rich combat experience and swordsmanship before becoming a Divine Tree Master!

nA blond man in cold armor, who looked like a knight from the Middle Ages, was standing before the zombie corpses on this floating island. He was holding a longsword with exquisite patterns carved on the blade while attentively reading messages in the chat channel.

nThis man was the one who had been appearing in front of all the Divine Tree Masters as the Salvation Alliance.

nMoreover, he was the one who had killed all the zombies, using the sword in his hand!

n“They are all ordinary people. There are even liars who want to get information from us. Can such a method really win over strong people?” Ton muttered in confusion as if he was very unhappy with this method.

nEvidently, he was only following orders to do these things.

n“Huh? I seem to see a familiar name.”

nAs Ton was muttering, thinking about how to fool these people who did not want to talk, he suddenly found a familiar name in his private message folder.

n“Enoch? Isn’t that the fellow who cleared the dungeon first?” A smile appeared on his face. “That’s right! He should be one of those strong players!”

nEnoch’s initiative to communicate seemed to make Ton happy, and he even smiled.

n“I’ve already explored 80% of a certain area. May I ask how I’ll be targeted next?”

nIt was a very vague question. If not for the fact that the person who had asked was Enoch, perhaps Tonn would have closed the conversation.

nSince it was Enoch, Tonn had to think about how he should talk to him.

n“Enoch has already gotten the first clear of a dungeon, and his exploration rate is only 80%? He should be lying, right?”

nAfter thinking for a moment, Ton understood that Enoch was lying.

nHe definitely wouldn’t have only explored 80% of an area.

nHowever, Ton wasn’t angry because this was within their expectations. After all, the Salvation Alliance was an organization that had suddenly appeared, even though they proclaimed they were doing everything in the name of the entire human race.

nNot all Divine Tree Masters were idiots. There were quite a number of people who could see through the Salvation Alliance’s actual purpose. Thus, even if they wanted to probe the Salvation Alliance, they would definitely not tell the truth.

nNaturally, the Salvation Alliance had long been prepared for this. They would not show too much of an emotional fluctuation because of Enoch’s lie. This was something they had already foreseen.

n“As expected, those who are truly capable will be on guard against us, just as the leader predicted.”

nWith an expression of ‘as expected’, Ton nodded lightly.

nIt seemed that there should be at least one more decision-maker above Ton.

nTon did not care so much. He immediately sent a message back to Enoch.

n“You’re so respectful, Mr. Enoch. I knew that a person like you would not rely entirely on luck to conquer the dungeon like they said.”

nEnoch, who was waiting for Tor’s reply on his floating island, was stunned the moment he saw the message.

n“What is he doing? Is he trying to chat with me!?”

nEnoch could not help but frown. He did not have much time now. If Ton continued wasting his time chatting with him like this, Enoch would immediately close the private chat window.

n“Thank you for your approval. I’m also very honored by this. I wonder what exactly you mean by saying that the Netherworld will target us. I hope to get a clear answer. Thank you.”

nEnoch suppressed the various guesses in his heart and sent another message to Ton.

nAlthough this message didn’t state it clearly, Enoch believed that Ton should be able to feel his seriousness and satisfaction from this message. He also hoped that Ton would get the hint to stop beating around the bush, get to the point as soon as possible, and not waste his time with meaningless chit-chat.

nSoon, Enoch received an answer from the other side.

nTor could sense Enoch’s dissatisfaction, so he immediately shared everything he knew, not wasting their precious time with chit-chat.

n“Any Divine Tree Master that has explored 80% of a Netherworld area will be targeted by the Netherworld. When the exploration of an area reaches 100%, the Netherworld will lose control of that area, which will greatly weaken its power.

n“Therefore, all Divine Tree Masters who have explored 80% of an area will be targeted by the Netherworld. Not only will a large number of zombies attack the Divine Tree Masters, but they will also send some powerful mutated zombies to try and kill those Divine Tree Masters.

n“And once the hunt is successful, the Divine Tree Masters’ floating islands will become the Netherworld’s property, increasing the Netherworld’s power. As such, the Netherworld will undoubtedly target those powerful Divine Tree Masters.”

nAs expected, this was something Enoch didn’t know!

nEnoch immediately frowned. Being targeted by the entire Netherworld was not a good thing.

nMoreover, mutated zombies were a sign of danger!

nHe had only encountered mutated zombies once, but the level of danger was the greatest among all the zombies he had ever encountered!

n“Thank you.”

nEnoch sent a message before turning around and starting to contemplate his strategy.

nOne mutated zombie was not the main point. The main point was that many other zombies would move together with the mutated zombies. That was the most important matter.

n“Lightning, get ready. We’re in danger now!”

n
