nShe was Allowed to Hunt

nLin Xiaoyue quickly supported her mother.

nLiu Shi composed herself and looked at Lin Xiaoyue with a pained expression.

nShe couldn’t believe her husband let their daughter do such a dangerous thing!

n“I forbid you to go!” Liu Shi immediately said.

n“Mom, don’t worry. With the weapon given by my master, I can shoot that beast to death from far away. It’s not dangerous at all,” Lin Xiaoyue hurriedly said.

nBut her mother still held her arm and refused to let go.

nLin Xiaoyue felt helpless.

n“How about this… mom, I’ll just hunt for a few months at most. I’ll stop before winter comes!” Lin Xiaoyue promised.

nLiu Shi still didn’t let go, but her face looked better now.

n“Mom, with our situation, do you think this shabby house can help us survive this winter?” Lin Xiaoyue asked Liu Shi patiently.

nSeeing the hesitation in Liu Shi’s eyes, Lin Xiaoyue quickly promised, “Don’t worry. For your sake, I won’t put myself at risk.”

nLiu Shi hesitated.

nAfter a long while, she finally sighed.

n“Just three months. After September, I won’t allow you to enter the mountain again,” she continued.

nLin Xiaoyue’s eyes lit up.

n“Thank you, mom!” She quickly said.

nThey used the lunar calendar in ancient times. September was actually October in the modern calendar. After October, there was actually still one month before winter.

nThe reason her mother only gave her three months was because she was worried that there might be fierce beasts roaming around the back mountain in the late autumn.

nA month less was actually not a big deal. It just so happened that a month could be used to build a house.

n“Mom, let’s eat first! I’ll cook some meat in the afternoon to satisfy your cravings!” Lin Xiaoyue said. As she spoke, her mouth was salivating.

nShe was craving it too. There was a shortage of food in the post-apocalyptic world. They couldn’t even have a full meal with vegetables, let alone meat.

nWhen the little boy heard that they were going to eat meat, he immediately tugged on Lin Xiaoyue’s hand.

n“Ziaozhi also has to eat meat!”

nLin Xiaoyue smiled, stood up, and patted Lin Xiaozhi’s head again.

n“Okay, I will cook meat for us!”

nLiu Shi looked at the scene and smiled.

n“Let’s eat!” She said and got up to go to the stove.

nThey made white rice. The dishes were fried eggs and wild vegetables. With the addition of chili oil, the taste was good.

nThen, because there were only three people at home, Liu Shi did not put the dishes into a sharing bowl. Instead, she divided them into three bowls filled with rice, one bowl for each person.

nAround the shaky small table, the family ate happily.

nAfter the meal, Liu Shi cleaned up the dishes.

nLin Xiaoyue took out two pheasants and started to clean them up.

nThe little boy was also called over to pluck the feathers of the pheasants that had been scalded.

nLin Xiaoyue soon realized that her mother did not know how to clean pheasants, so she said, “Mom, you go and sew purses. I can do this alone.”

nLiu Shi saw that she could not help, and her daughter was quick, so she was relieved.

n“Okay.” Then she went to get the needle and thread.

nThen, not long after, Aunt Wang came with Wang Er’ya.

nSeeing that Lin Xiaoyue was cleaning the two pheasants, Aunt Wang was shocked.

n“Hey, you’re cooking all of them?!” Looking at the two pheasants, Aunt Wang’s face was full of heartache.

nAlthough she didn’t know where Lin Xiaoyue got the second pheasant, eating two pheasants at once was really a waste!

n“Hehe, not all of them! There are still three left, and there are rabbits too!” Lin Xiaoyue said as she pointed at the basket on her back not far away.

nAunt Wang looked in the direction that Lin Xiaoyue was pointing at, and her eyes immediately widened.

n
