nOver the next few days, Chen Chen had officially signed the agreement with the Namibian officials.
nAccording to the 20-year National Energy Policy drafted by the Namibia Ministry of Mining and Ministry of Energy Resources, Blacklight Biotechnology Ltd. had the right to supply electricity resources to any Namibian citizen by way of direct commerce. They were hereby permitted to bypass the national power corporation to do so.
nFor the next three years, Blacklight was exempted from any form of taxes from the Namibian government. After that period, they would be subjected to halved taxes before finally being taxed at a regular rate by the eighth year.
nAs for the uranium required for generating nuclear power, Chen Chen did not agree to the Namibian government acting as the supplier. This could later be used as a bargaining chip in negotiations with Mainland China.
nAfter all, Mainland China would jump at the golden opportunity to act as the uranium supplier for the only nuclear power plant in Namibia.
nThe largest tree was always the perfect place for shade. With Mainland China’s position as one of the five leading nations in the Earth Federation, securing a nuclear supply chain deal with a corporation from the Mainland would prevent Blacklight from being predated upon by other countries. However, Chen Chen also had to consider the fact that the nuclear power industry and the country itself were separate entities. He had to proceed cautiously to avoid being devoured completely.
nAfter the contract was signed, Namibia was “eliminated”. From this point on, it was a three-way battle between the Blacklight, the nuclear power corporation in Mainland China, and the nuclear power sector in Mainland China.
nAs a display of how crucial the development of this project was, the head of the division of two nuclear companies came to Namibia in person to lead the negotiations.
nThe issue was not that Mainland China had never considered the prospects of investing in a nuclear power plant in Namibia. The problem was that at the end of 2015, Rainbow Nation had signed a nuclear power plant order worth 50 billion U.S. dollars with Mainland China. Ever since then, Mainland China took caution to never make any mentions of investing in a nuclear power plant in Namibia.
nAnother thing to consider was that compared to the Rainbow Nation, the number of people in Namibia who could afford electricity bills was still uncertain. Investing in the nuclear power sector in this landscape was inherently a risky maneuver. If things did not go well, there was a chance of losing more than you came in with.
nOnly someone like Chen Chen would throw in two billion without blinking.
nAfter all, Chen Chen had never received even a month’s salary ever since he began working. He hardly touched them if at all and had minimal interest in such things…
nAs for the handling of the “Foreign Investment Loans”, Chen Chen had wholly entrusted the duties to Xia Yin. Xia Yin appeared to be quite busy recently. As word of the translator got out, a pair of jackals seemed to have been attracted by its scent.
nFor now, the jackals remained hiding in the safety of their shadows without approaching the bonfire. All Chen Chen could see were countless pairs of hungry eyes.
n“I got it, I’ll go ahead and apply…”
nWhen the matter was entrusted to Xia Yin, she accepted the task immediately. She seemed to be having a difficult time catching her breath when she spoke, all signs pointed to a lack of sleep, “Right, what’s the deal with the real-time translator anyway, I don’t think I can handle it all by myself…”
n“Do as you see fit, just maximize the profit margin,” Chen Chen said without a care, “I’ll leave it to you, that’s all.”
n“Wait, wait!” Xia Yin quickly stopped him from hanging up before asking carefully, “Will you blame it on me if it turns out I can’t hold it down that well?”
n“Did I blame you for leaking the experiment thesis back then?” Chen Chen turned it around on her.
n“No…” Xia Yin fell silent for a moment. She suddenly inhaled sharply before continuing. “Thank you, Chen Chen.”
n“That’s all.”
nOnly then did Chen Chen hang up the call. He pondered for a moment before suddenly taking out the dismantled Gantz Suit and extracting the electrical spine inside it.
nAfter that, Chen Chen configured his computer’s operating system to Linux and dismantled the electrical spine. He took out the motherboard and connected it to the computer which was disconnected from the Internet by using a USB to TTL cable.
nChen Chen took around fifteen minutes after that to write a serial port program and configured its baud rate using its serial debugging assistant tool. After ensuring the connection was a success, the next part should be easy.
nFor the next step, Chen Chen performed an interactive debugging sequence on the Gantz Suit motherboard. Upon ensuring there were no issues with the motherboard, he connected the computer to his phone and had Little X access the Gantz Suit’s motherboard using the phone.
nWith Little X’s knowledge, the Gantz Suit’s electrical sequence was very quickly decoded. Little X promptly inserted Chen Chen’s biological information into the Gantz Suit. Thus, the Gantz Suit was completely under Chen Chen’s possession.
nBy replicating these methods, Chen Chen extracted two more Gantz Suits from the USB drive. One of them belonged to the protagonist, Kei Kurono, while the other one belonged to another character, Kato Masaru.
nKato Masaru’s measured height in the movie was 190cm, which perfectly matched Cheng Cao’s height. After transmitting Cheng Cao’s biological information into the suit, Chen Chen called Cheng Cao over.
n“I have an important task for you.”
nChen Chen tossed the Gantz Suit to him. “See if it fits.”
n“Ok.” Cheng Cao nodded and proceeded to take off his jacket.
n“The bathroom.” Chen Chen added.
n“Oh…”
nCheng Chao scratched his head, embarrassed, before he walked into the bathroom with his clothes in between.
nAfter a little over ten minutes, Cheng Cao came back out.
nBefore Cheng Cao barely stepped foot out of the bathroom, he saw a black figure approximately the size of a human head coming toward him. He quickly reached for it with his hand. Unexpectedly, the black figure carried a tremendous amount of force as Cheng Cao felt the blunt impact on his hand!
nJust when Cheng Cao thought he could not brace the impact, he suddenly felt an extra force emerging from his arm. He felt a sudden lightness in his palms as he firmly gripped the object in his hand.
nIt was only then when Cheng Cao noticed that the item which he gripped firmly in his grasp was the armguard of the PK Armor!
n“Good reaction time. Did you feel any form of external force?” Chen Chen asked. It was him who had thrown the PK Armor.
n“I did. It felt like it came from this suit I’m wearing?”
nCheng Cao took the time to feel the boost of physicality originating from the combat suit and remarked with interest, “It’s not just my strength, it’s even enhancing my mobility!”
n“That’s normal.”
nChen Chen nodded. “I’m sure you’re also aware of the defensive prowess of this combat suit. But its greatest value lies in the fact that it can significantly boost a person’s strength and speed.”
nChen Chen thought for a moment before declaring, “Let’s give it a name, how about… GS Combat Suit.”
n“You’re saying?” Cheng Cao had a difficult time reading Chen Chen’s intentions.
n“This combat suit belongs to you now.”
nChen Chen snapped his fingers. “I’m going to entrust you a mission. You have to make a trip back to Mainland China to protect Xia Yin, the head of the company. I’m worried there might be some who harbor harmful intentions towards her during this period.”
n“Got it.” Cheng Cao accepted the task without hesitation.
nChen Chen smiled. This was what he liked about Cheng Cao, his fervent attitude of accepting his duties without any further questions.
n“Right, there’s this one as well.” Chen Chen pointed at the PK Armor which Cheng Cao had in his hand. “Put it on!”
nCheng Cao strapped the armguard on his arm without a word.
nIn an instant, a flash of blue light emerged from it. Within ten seconds, Cheng Cao morphed into an armored combatant standing over two meters tall.
n“There’s something located around your left arm. Take it out,” Chen Chen informed.
nCheng Cao raised his arm in response. Just as he was about to ask how he could access it, a longan-sized silver-white metal ball dropped out the very next second and produced a light “ding” against the surface.
nCheng Cao caught it by instinct.
n“Alright, you can take it off now,” Chen Chen informed again.
nCheng Cao nodded and promptly removed the PK Armor.
n“This metallic ball is a cloaking device. Even though I haven’t quite figured out the workings behind it, that won’t hinder its usefulness,” Chen Chen explained, “keep the GS Combat Suit on and head back to Shangdu with the cloaking sphere.”
n“Understood.” Cheng Cao gave a firm nod. “I’ll take a flight tomorrow back to Shangdu.”
nCheng Cao put on a jacket over the combat suit and left the room after that.
n
