Chapter 399

As Gu Ren lowered his eyes, it scorched Ye Zhi’s heart and made it beat as loud as thunder.

Gu Ren didn’t mind Ye Zhi’s teasing at all, evident by the way he fixedly stared at Ye Zhi for a few seconds before bending down suddenly.

The two were already very close to each other. With this action, the distance between the two instantly became a little closer and their noses were practically centimeters away from contact.

There was only a thin layer of air between their lips.

Gu Ren looked at Ye Zhi and said in a low voice. The corners of his eyes were shaped into a bewildering arc, “So, what are you going to do?”

The tone of his words were teasingly raised and it was like a bright rose blooming in the dark night—clearly it was as cold as snow, but it caught everyone’s attention around him and made them pay attention to him alone.

Ye Zhi couldn’t take her eyes off Gu Ren’s face at all as she clearly noticed the heat gradually rising on her face. Her cheeks were so hot and she knew that her heart was also thumping loudly thanks to him.

Ye Zhi was the one who initiated the sultriness and she was also the one who touched him first. However, Ye Zhi felt that Gu Ren was now the one taking the lead.

Ye Zhi was a little dissatisfied at the sudden change of situation. Under the pretence of an impulse, she made a decision.

Ye Zhi’s eyes were also black and clear. She stood on her tiptoes and leaned towards Gu Ren slowly, closing the already minute distance that once existed between them.

Ye Zhi saw her face clearly reflected in Gu Ren’s eyes and she moved forward.

When Ye Zhi kissed Gu Ren, she closed her eyes.

Gu Ren could sense the feather-light sensation that quickly left his lips and barely lingered.

After that, Ye Zhi moved back slightly. But even so, she was reluctant to leave, so she was still very close to Gu Ren.

Ye Zhi raised her eyelids slightly, staring at Gu Ren with her eyes half-opened.

Her line of sight was clear and a sentence escaped her lips very faintly, “Young Master Gu, do you know what my answer is now?”

Ye Zhi’s voice was very soft and her tone was also very light. She seemed to be calm and collected, but her face that was usually as pale as snow was now flushed in a hue of red.

Gu Ren’s darkened eyes flashed with extremely deep emotions before his pupils focused themselves on her lips for a few seconds.

After a while, Gu Ren shook his head. His thin lips moved slightly and his voice was slightly hoarse, “You could have been a little more sincere.”

Ye Zhi didn’t speak and Gu Ren didn’t speak either. They looked at each other, their shadows melding together with the increasingly evident darkness.

After a while, Gu Ren let out a laugh in his throat before he murmured a word between his lips, “Let me teach you…”

Ye Zhi’s ears were burning hot.

The spring wind was still a little chilly as it swept past them, carrying a cool and chilling sensation.

But for some reason, Ye Zhi felt that her face was astonishingly hot. No matter how cold the air was, the temperature that suddenly rose on her face couldn’t seem to go away.

Gu Ren raised his slender hand and supported Ye Zhi’s shoulder. His fingertips inadvertently covered her collarbone as if snowflakes fell on a pair of fluttering wings that were about to spread.

Amidst the still air, Gu Ren opened his mouth and said hoarsely, “Close your eyes.”
