Chapter 1055: 16.101 First Red Star - Illusionary Forest (VI

The perspective of the last couple, Conri Lycaon and Carnelian Dawn…

The two individuals, Conri Lycaon and Carnelian Dawn were separated from each other, unlike the previous couple. Before entering the forest, Conri hugged Carnelian as they both knew the rules of the final trial. However, it was unfortunate that they couldn’t maintain a certain distance between them. This was especially difficult for Carnelian as his soul was injured and his body and soul were not perfectly synchronized.

Fenrir Skoll saved Carnelian Dawn’s injured soul by temporarily binding it to Conri Lycaon’s soul, preventing it from perishing. However, Carnelian’s current vessel is not well connected to the world, as it originally belonged to a child named Athan Vladimir who died in another world. To establish a stronger connection, Carnelian decided to bond with one of the world’s children, and Conri Lycaon agreed to help. This is why they embarked on the trial of mateship.

Conri Lycaon and Carnelian Dawn share a common tragic childhood. One of them suffered the loss of their entire tribe due to the orders of Pope Kenan Light, while the other had to endure the separation of their family with their elder brother leaving to seek protection for them. The burden of their greedy relatives fell upon them, causing intense stress. They blame themselves for not being able to protect their loved ones. Perhaps if the situation were different and their roles reversed, they wouldn’t have to bear the pain of their past.

When they first met, things weren’t good between them. They couldn’t even recognize each other because Amber Dawn had Carnelian Dawn’s Imprint Crest on her body after his sister took over and Carnelian Dawn got lost in time and space. Carnelian Dawn’s soul got lost in time and ended up in the past, taking over the dead body of Athan Vladimir. To avoid being discovered as someone else, he sealed his original memories and grew up thinking he was Athan Vladimir. As the chosen heir of the Blood Race, he saw Conri Lycaon as an enemy, but he never fought against him. Instead, he always clashed with Asher Light. Despite being attracted to Conri Lycaon at first sight, he never treated him as more than an enemy.

In contrast, Conri Lycaon witnessed Asher Light stab Athan Vladimir in the chest. He would have succeeded in assassinating Athan Vladimir if it hadn’t been for the fact that the man sleeping in the coffin awoke at the last minute. If that happened, wouldn’t he have lost Carnelian Dawn for good? Conri Lycaon’s grip on Carnelian Dawn’s hand tightens as he is terrified by the scene, despite the fact that his partner has not complained about the pain.

Carnelian Dawn whispered in comfort, “It’s okay. All of this had happened already. I’m still alive, aren’t I?”

“I know. I also know I cannot blame Asher for this. He was only doing his mission and he didn’t know who you were. No… None of us realized who you are. I feel so useless. I also mistook your sister for seizing your body and was going to wait for you to reincarnate. Who would have thought you had always been by my side? You also had to suffer the life of Athan Vladimir which wasn’t for you.” Conri Lycaon said.

Carnelian Dawn held his lover’s face and stared into each other’s eyes, “You cannot be blamed nor the Gods of our world. That time when I fell into Space and Time, I’ve seen a lot and also knew how many had failed to return. But because our Imprint Crest retains that my soul was pulled back in our world though in the wrong timeline. Even so, I am still grateful. I was still able to live in the same world in which you exist and my family exists.”

“I promise. After all this time, I will never let you go alone. I will accompany you anywhere in the end whether in heaven or in hell, I will be by your side.” Conri Lycaon said.

As they walked through a seemingly never-ending mirrored path, memories of their past flashed before their eyes. Eventually, they reached the end and were greeted by their family – Asher Light, Amber Dawn, Esther Dawn, and Mayonaka Yoru – all with smiles on their faces. It felt like they had finally returned home after being lost in the forest.

Asher Light said, “You guys sure took your time? Did you meet in the forest? How lucky.”

“Are you hurt somewhere? Your body is a bit weak right now. Wear this scarf, Car.” Amber Dawn said.

Esther Dawn said, “It’s good that you two weren’t separated. Car’s soul is weak without Conri around. The Gods must have noticed and let them walk the forest together.”

“Maybe the God of our world would help as he knew Carnelian’s situation which is better. You two take a flower so we can leave the forest right away. For some reason, I’m having a bad premonition. I hope nothing happens in our world while we aren’t around.” Mayonaka Yoru said.

Esther Dawn frowned for a moment and said, “It should be fine. Even though Lord Fenrir might choose to not get involved with Kenan Light, at least he will keep the Academy safe after all the headmaster is still there.”

“But this also means that he wouldn’t care anything about what happened beyond the barrier of Genus Academy. We should return as soon as possible.” Conri Lycaon said.

Asher Light said, “I heard the Blessing Ceremony is done together. We should leave as soon as we finish.”

“I want to say goodbye to Leafy and Brother Baishi.” Carnelian Dawn said.

Amber Dawn smiled and said, “Okay, we will say our goodbyes together. After all, we might not be able to come to this world anymore after leaving.”

It is commonly understood that travel between worlds is only possible for deities. The task of facilitating such travel must be difficult and require immense power, like that possessed by Lord Fenrir Skoll. Mortals would be unable to withstand the journey without Lord Fenrir’s protection of their bodies and souls. Despite the challenges, the travelers’ experience of this new world was memorable and will remain with them for life.

At the Beast God, Shou’s Domain…

Beast God Shou and Elemental Light God Mikaela had overheard the conversation between those who had passed the final test, as well as what Amber Dawn had said. The words Amber spoke were true. Bringing mortals to other worlds is impossible, even for Mikaela and Shou. Only God’s Body can birth the path of space and time, and mortals perish in it.

It is evident that Lord Skoll employed certain methods to achieve his goal. His ability to manipulate elements of space and time played a crucial role in his success. While he lacked a natural talent for controlling space elements, his wife was a prodigy in this area. Lord Skoll borrowed her talent and created a portal that connected two different worlds. To safeguard the children’s bodies, he halted their time temporarily. As a result, they were considered immortal objects by space and were not destroyed.

Beast God, Shou asked, “What do you think, Mikaela?”

“Connecting to worlds is impossible with just the two of us. But… We have two sovereigns as guests. Let’s ask for help.” Elemental Light God, Mikaela wants to ask for help. They plan to ask Lord Shen Siwang and Lord Mo Baojun if they are willing to lend them help to make a connection between the two worlds.

Nodding in agreement, the Beast God said, “We can try after the preparation for the Mateship Ceremony is completed.”

Back to the World of Vampires, Werewolves, and Humans…

Kenan Light’s minions and subordinates were determined to destroy the barrier surrounding Genus Academy. Despite their efforts, the Golden Barrier remained unscathed, standing as a steadfast divide between the land of the undead and the land of the living. Zhi Yue and Zhi Yang, positioned at the highest point of the Genus Academy building, observed the scene beyond the barrier and monitored any changes in movement outside. Their duty was to report immediately if Kenan Light himself appeared, as the barrier would remain impervious to the attacks of his subordinates.

Zhi Yue asked, “A’Yang, why do we have to report to the Lord God if that villain appears? Isn’t that man just an aborigine of this world? He is even weaker than we do.”

“He might be weaker than us but… The Lords had no intention of getting involved. Once Kenan Light made his move they needed to stay away. If they continue to protect the world against the Main Villain the world will choose them as its protector. We are here to sever my master’s connection to this world so we can’t get involved with the main villain.” Zhi Yang explains.

Zhi Yue asked, “Then if that Main Villain truly appears then the barrier… It would break?”

Zhi Yang nods his head, “If the Protagonists of the world and its Gods don’t return on time our Lords will truly watch this world fall. As long as the ending had been reached whether the result is survival or an apocalypse, the soul fragment of Lord Hei would be free as long as they don’t get involved.” 𝘦𝘰𝑣𝘦𝘭.𝘰𝘳𝑔

Sigh~

“I hope those children will return soon. How painful would it be to return home and see their own world destroyed,” mumbled Zhi Yue.

At the mansion where Fenrir Skoll and Cassius Ambrosia live…

The mansion was dark, with all the lights dimmed. Cassius Ambrosia was sound asleep, using the fur of Fenrir Skoll’s Beast Form as a cozy bed and blanket. Fenrir Skoll, on the other hand, was lost in thought in the darkness. He watched emotionlessly as small black dragons swirled around his hands. These dragons weren’t made of dark elements and lacked the ability to think for themselves. They were simply living creatures that knew Fenrir Skoll was their master. This was a result of Fenrir Skoll’s upgraded Devour ability, which he obtained by consuming a fragment from a World Eater.

Xia Jieye, known as the God of the Void, possesses unparalleled control over darkness due to his innate abilities. However, following his rebirth as Ye Xiajie, he gained the ability to manipulate Time and Light Elements. His mastery of Time Elements is unparalleled among the Gods, as they do not possess the ability to control the Laws of Time. While the jurisdiction of Light Element belongs to his brother, Shen Siwang, he willingly allows Ye Xiajie to wield it. It should be noted that this does not mean that the Void rejected Ye Xiajie’s brother, but rather that he simply lacks the ability to control darkness.

The contrast between light, which is compassionate, and darkness, which is moody and unpredictable, is stark. Sometimes, darkness may allow his sibling to wield it, but only when in a good mood. Shen Siwang found this arrangement satisfactory, but Ye Xiajie knew that his power to devour was a product of his soul core. He speculated that he gained this ability from Xie Jieye, who lived in a world where he was an Evil Incarnate. Perhaps Ye Xiajie’s ability to devour souls and life stemmed from his blood as a Mogui, an evil entity that gains strength by consuming souls.

But when he ate that fragment of the World Eater, he felt his ability to Devour had gotten stronger and it didn’t affect him at all which made him uncomfortable.

Lord Fenrir Skoll mumbled in the darkness, “Are you telling me I can devour anything? But only the World Eater is said to possess such ability.”
