Chapter 49 - Genuine Laughter

n

n

n

nThe two men destined to be enemies were currently lying in bed with each other. Granted, they were only five years old and nothing bad happened between them yet.

n

nSong Ci felt that it was a rare sight. Her hands moved quickly and she took more than a dozen photos of Song Yujin and Lu Suo!

n

nOnce she was done, Song Yujin woke up. He was in a daze.

n

nSong Ci put away her phone. Just as she was about to speak, Song Yujin lifted a finger and placed it on his lips. Song Ci was surprised. Not only was Lu Suo different from the original novel, but Song Yujin as well. He was very attentive to Lu Suo. Anyway, Song Ci pointed at the door, indicating that she would wait for him outside.

n

nSong Yujin nodded and carefully got off the bed.

n

n“Why are the two of you sleeping together?”

n

nSong Ci asked Song Yujin.

n

nSong Yujin still remembered his promise to Lu Suo. The latter did not want him to tell Song Ci and Lu Gan anything because he was embarrassed. Hence, Song Yujin thought for a moment before saying, “When he wakes up, you can ask him.”

n

nThis way, Lu Suo could make up his own answers.

n

nSong Ci nodded.

n

n“Both of you seem to get along.”

n

n“It’s not bad.”

n

nSong Yujin’s expression was as per usual.

n

nSong Ci patted Song Yujin’s head.

n

n“I still have to remind you, tell me at once if you’ve been wronged. It doesn’t matter if you’re older.”

n

nSong Ci thought about the original novel again. The plot would probably change. Song Yujin and the female protagonist’s relationship all depended on fate now.

n

nOn the other hand, Song Yujin felt that Song Ci was really different from other adults. Normally, one would say, “There’s no way someone younger can bully you. In fact, since you’re the older brother, you should dote on him.”

n

n“I won’t be bullied by him.”

n

nSong Yujin said calmly.

n

nSong Ci replied sincerely, “That’s the best-case scenario.”

n

nAs the two of them spoke, they heard the sound of a wheelchair. Lu Gan was pushing his wheelchair towards them.

n

n“Let’s go and eat.”

n

nSong Ci reached out to hold Song Yujin. Together, they walked towards Lu Gan.

n

nAfter breakfast, Song Ci and Lu Gan stayed in the living room to discuss the matter of collecting their marriage certificate tomorrow.

n

nSong Yujin returned to his room.

n

nLu Suo was still sleeping.

n

nSong Yujin did not wake him up and just quietly read his book.

n

nAfter a while, he suddenly heard a noise.

n

nLu Suo had finally awakened. He rubbed his eyes and said softly, “Good morning, little uncle.”

n

n“Good morning.”

n

nSong Yujin replied. Then, he turned around and continued reading his book.

n

nLu Suo looked at Song Yujin. The latter was acting as if he did not exist at all. For a moment, he was confused.

n

nLast night, Song Yujin took the initiative to comfort him. Now, he did not even bother to look at him. Did he like him or not? Lu Suo lifted the blanket and got off the bed. He walked towards the door.

n

n“I’m heading back to my room.”

n

n“Okay.”

n

nSong Yujin finally raised his head.

n

n“Aren’t you at least going to say goodbye?”

n

nLu Suo asked.

n

n“Goodbye.”

n

nLu Suo puffed up his cheeks and stared at Song Yujin unhappily.

n

nSong Yujin did not understand why he was looking at him like that.

n

n“What’s wrong?”

n

n“Are you just going to say goodbye?”

n

nLu Suo suppressed the frustration in his heart.

n

nSong Yujin was puzzled.

n

n“Weren’t you the one who told me to say goodbye?”

n

nLu Suo did not want to speak anymore. He glared at Song Yujin angrily, snorted fiercely, and left.

n

nSong Yujin shook his head and continued reading his book.

n

nAfter Lu Suo washed up, he went to eat breakfast. He still remembered the agate bracelet that Song Ci gave him last night. When he saw Song Ci, he immediately smiled and pretended to be pleasantly surprised. The little boy asked the two adults, “Which one of you gave me the agate bracelet?”

n

nWhen Lu Gan heard this, he turned to look at Song Ci with a blank look.

n

nSong Ci smiled and said, “Do you like it?”

n

nLu Suo nodded cheerfully.

n

n“Did you give it to me, Auntie Song? Thank you! I like it so much. It’s beautiful.”

n

n“You’re welcome.”

n

nSong Ci smiled and patted his head.

n

nLu Suo’s smile became even sweeter.

n

nLu Gan finally understood what was going on. He asked curiously, “When did you give it to him?”

n

n“When you took a shower last night. I’m not reporting all my actions to you,” said Song Ci.

n

nLu Gan raised his eyebrows.

n

n“It seems that you’ve kept a lot of things from me.”

n

n“Of course not.”

n

nSong Ci smiled awkwardly. She was tired.

n

nLu Suo looked at the genuine smile on Lu Gan’s face. He did not say anything and just stood beside them as they bantered. At this moment, he was truly happy.
