nLu Suo smiled sweetly at Song Ci.

n

n“Thank you, Auntie Song.”

n

n“You’re welcome,”

n

nSong Ci smiled back.

n

nAlong the way, Lu Suo kept asking Song Yujin all sorts of questions. The latter responded indifferently. Everything was as per usual.

n

nAround nine-thirty at night, Song Ci knocked on Lu Suo’s door. She asked if he needed any assistance taking a bath.

n

nLu Suo was surprised. His mother was the one who used to help him shower. Nonetheless, Song Ci was currently his adoptive mother. So, something like this was normal. He nodded and said, “Okay.”

n

nSong Ci carried Lu Suo into the bathroom.

n

nEver since the accident, Lu Gan was the one who would watch after Lu Suo while he showered. He was afraid the little boy might slip or something. However, Lu Suo did not want to cause any trouble for Lu Gan. Hence, after a few days, Lu Suo told Lu Gan he preferred to shower by himself. Lu Gan thought that Lu Suo had matured, so he complied.

n

nLu Suo did not expect anyone to help him bathe again. After all, his parents were gone. However, things changed. Since Lu Gan liked Song Ci, he was willing to give her a chance. At the same time, the little boy realized something. If he treated Lu Gan as his father, then in a sense, Song Ci would also become his mother.Besides, she was already taking him to school and they would eat together. Now, she was about to help him take a bath.

n

nHe looked at the gentleness in Song Ci’s eyes. She really was like his mother. Lu Suo tilted his head and stared at her intently.

n

nSong Ci asked, “Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?”

n

nLu Suo shook his head.

n

n“Auntie Song, will you always be nice to me?”

n

n“Of course. You’re my baby.”

n

nSong Ci replied.

n

nUpon hearing that, Lu Suo could not help but laugh. His mother used to call him “baby”. He looked at Song Ci and thought that she was not too bad. His uncle liked her and they were going to live together in the future. As long as Song Ci was kind to them, he was willing to accept her as his mother.

n

nSong Ci helped Lu Suo take a bath. Then, she picked up a towel to wipe off the water droplets on his body. Once that was done, she carried him to the bed and he put on his new pajamas.

n

n“Goodnight, Little Suo.”

n

nLu Suo was in a good mood. He smiled and replied, “Goodnight, Auntie Song.”

n

nSong Ci smiled and pinched his little face. She left and went to Song Yujin’s room.

n

nSong Yujin was reading a book. When she entered, he did not react.

n

nSong Ci walked closer to him.

n

n“It’s getting late. You should go to sleep after taking a shower.”

n

nSong Yujin watched as Song Ci went into the bathroom and prepared some hot water. He said helplessly, “I can bathe myself.”

n

nSong Ci smiled and responded, “In a few days, I’m going to start working. By then, even if you want me to help you bathe, I won’t have the time. Why don’t you cherish this moment?”

n

n“You’re going to work?”

n

nSong Yujin asked as he raised his head.

n

nSong Ci nodded.

n

n“That’s right. I can’t just stay at home all the time. Will you miss me?”

n

nSong Yujin stayed silent.

n

nSong Ci sighed exaggeratedly.

n

n“Seriously? I’ll miss you, but you won’t miss me? Yujin, you’re too heartless!”

n

n“I’ll miss you.”

n

nSong Yujin did not have much of a choice.

n

n“Really?”

n

nSong Ci looked at him.

n

n“Really.”

n

nSong Yujin was indulging her more than usual.

n

n“You have to keep your word. Let’s pinky promise.”

n

nSong Ci said excitedly.

n

nSong Yujin raised his hand feebly and the two hooked their little fingers together.

n

nSong Ci was satisfied. She carried her little brother into the bathtub and quickly helped him wash up. Before she carried him out, she dried him using a towel. After that, she pinched his little face and said, “I’ll sleep with you tonight.”

n

n“I can sleep by myself.”

n

nSong Yujin’s tone was as calm as ever.

n

nSong Ci patted his head and pretended not to hear him.

n

n“I’ve been giving a lot of attention to Little Suo today, so I want to make it up to you.”

n

nHearing this, the strange feeling in Song Yujin’s heart disappeared.

n

nDespite that, he looked at Song Ci and said indifferently, “You don’t have to make up for it.”
