nWith a loud rumble, the stone door slowly opened to reveal a pathway.
nJun Mohuang was cautious by nature. Even though Xiao Jin had repeatedly guaranteed that there wouldn’t be any danger,
nShe stood at the entrance of the cave and sensed for a while. After devising an escape plan, she wheeled Jun Jianlin in.
nThe stone walls of the pathway were carved with lifelike murals. There were luminous pearls the size of a fist embedded every five meters.
nUnder the soft light of the Night-Luminescent Pearl, Jun Mohuang and Jun Jianlin could clearly see the contents of the mural.
nThe murals were the same as the ones on the stone door. They were all about the various birds and beasts paying their respects to the Gold-Swallowing Beast.
nThe deeper they went into the cave, the stronger the beasts and birds were.
nJun Mohuang’s horizons had been broadened along the way. She had never known that there were so many types of demons on this mainland.
nAfter a few hundred meters, she suddenly stopped in front of a mural.
nThere were two familiar beasts in the mural – Huan Yun Beast and Bai Ze.
nAs Huan Yun Beast was the Totem Beast of the royal family, every citizen of Huan Yun was familiar with this beast.
nBai Ze was the Totem Beast of the Bai Ze royal family. Jun Mohuang was familiar with its image as it was present in the war between the two countries some years back.
nThese two types of beasts had level 4 bloodlines, which were higher than the Gold-Swallowing Beast’s level 3 bloodline.
nThe bloodline hierarchy in Cangyuan Continent was strict. A beast with a level 4 bloodline would never worship a beast with a level 3 bloodline.
nThe only explanation was that the Gold-Swallowing Beast’s bloodline used to be higher than that of the other two types of beasts. It should have been at level 5.
nBut for unknown reasons, its bloodline had been degraded.
nHowever, the Jun Family had no records of this information about the Gold-Swallowing Beast.
nJun Mohuang and Jun Jianlin looked at each other in bewilderment.
nSince the previous Heads of the Jun Family had come here before, why hadn’t they revealed this secret before?
nAfter walking for a while, the content on the stone wall was more or less the same. It was filled with scenes of birds and beasts paying their respects to the Gold-Swallowing Beast.
nThey were all of level 3 bloodlines.
nAfter half an hour, they finally reached the end.
nAt the end was a larger mural on the right and a stone room on the left.
nThe larger mural had mostly fallen off. Only four beasts were faintly visible, but their appearances could not be seen clearly.
nThe left stone room held the tablets of the previous Heads of the Jun Family. There were a total of more than 300 tablets, but there was nothing else besides these tablets.
n“Xiao Jin, is this the treasure you were talking about?”
nJun Mohuang looked at the dense array of tablets in disbelief. Could it be that the materials used to make these tablets were special and they were some sort of heavenly treasure?
n“Master, don’t worry. I need a few drops of your blood.”
nXiao Jin brought Jun Mohuang out of the stone room and back to the end of the pathway.
n“Opening the treasure requires a drop of Master’s blood.”
nIt first drew a few drops of blood with a needle and dripped it onto an inconspicuous round rock at the end of the pathway.
nXiao Jin’s life was bound to hers. If she died, Xiao Jin would die with her.
nIt wouldn’t hurt her.
nJun Mohuang followed its instructions and dripped a drop of her own blood on the round rock.
nIn the next moment, a stone door suddenly appeared on the cliff at the end of the pathway.
nThe stone door opened automatically and a bottomless abyss appeared before them.
nNight pearls of various sizes were embedded in the rock walls of the abyss, illuminating this space.
nWith the light of the Night-Luminescent Pearl, Jun Mohuang saw that there seemed to be a large beast hibernating in the abyss.
nShe was about to take a closer look when she felt something round knock her on her back. She fell from the edge of the abyss.
n
