nFor this treat, Alice directly booked an entire high-end seafood restaurant.
nShe was well aware that all the invitees were Soulmancers, many of whom, not just in behavior, but even in their attire, were quite peculiar.
nHaving them dine with ordinary people could potentially lead to unforeseen incidents.
nWhen it came time to eat, she finally felt relieved about her wise decision.
nThese Soulmancers, who typically expended vast amounts of energy, unsurprisingly had enormous appetites.
nThe speed at which the waiters served food couldn’t keep up with their rate of consumption.
nNot to mention Zoey and her group, what shocked Alice the most were the two little ones, Luna and Erebus…
nShe remembered walking into the restaurant with the two kids, their expressions resembling convicts being led to court.
nEven initially at the dining table, they appeared extremely nervous, unsure of how to handle the neatly arranged cutlery. But now, these two children had become the biggest eaters at the table.
nAn entire platter of fresh Maine lobsters was wiped clean in less than five minutes by the two little ones.
nAlice’s mouth fell open in astonishment as she watched the kids, quietly moving closer to William to whisper, “Are these two little ones Soulmancers as well?”
nIn such a setting, Alice knew she couldn’t loudly call him ‘master’ to avoid drawing attention from others.
nWilliam just smiled and continued to savor his meal.
nSoulmancers?
nUnderestimating much? If it weren’t for the danger William had made these two little ones feel earlier, this entire room of people wouldn’t be enough for them to play with.
nSeeing William’s smile, Alice felt once again that she hadn’t received an answer, her intelligence insulted yet again.
nFeeling utterly defeated.
nThe most crucial part was that, facing two such voracious little eaters, no one seemed to find it strange, except for Alice.
n“Are you really going to become someone’s pet over some food, maid?” Erebus, while voraciously gobbling down a large Maine lobster, sent a telepathic message to Luna.
n“Stupid servant, you think I’m like you?” Luna, her mouth greasy, disdainfully replied telepathically, “You talk big, but why don’t you run away then?”
nErebus fell silent, focusing on his meal.
nRun away?
nBut where to?
nUnless they immediately fled back to the underworld.
nOtherwise…
nJust thinking about that terrifying force of will.
nAs long as they remained in this world, they were sure they couldn’t escape.
nIn Erebus’s view, if Alice wanted to catch them, they could be tracked down and brought back from anywhere in the world.
nSo, why not just sit here and enjoy the food?
nWith this thought, Erebus sent a message to Luna: “You better not become someone’s pet just because you’re afraid to die.”
nLuna rolled her eyes at him. What nonsense!
nShe didn’t even bother to respond.
nAfter everyone had their fill, Alice took the two little ones back to her house.
nFor children unaccustomed to luxury, seeing the Turner family’s grand mansion would surely spark a flurry of curiosity and excitement.
nBut Erebus and Luna found nothing particularly impressive about the estate.
nThe size of the mansion was nothing compared to their palaces in the underworld, after all, if they reverted to their true forms, this small mansion wouldn’t even be able to accommodate them.
nThere isn’t even a magic circle.
nIt’s too ordinary!
nIt seems this woman might be one of those legendary hidden masters who perhaps just wants to experience ordinary life as a commoner?
nOnce there was no one else around, Luna finally couldn’t help but timidly ask, “Sister, you’re not going to eat us, are you?”
n“…” Alice was utterly exasperated. Eat them?
nDid she really look that frightening?
nSeeing Alice’s silent and somewhat grim expression, Luna quickly added, “Sister, you should know that I’m not good when roasted, and I’m also hot to the touch…”
n“And that Erebus doesn’t taste good either… he never takes baths.”
nAlice was caught between laughter and tears. Hot to the touch?
nAnd what was this about never taking baths?
nHearing Luna’s comment, Erebus immediately became unhappy and frowned, “It’s you who never takes baths!”
nErebus rarely bathed, but Luna, due to her species, naturally disliked water and always bathed in lava.
nAlice then realized that these two children were probably playing some sort of childish ‘house’ game, the kind that children love to play.
nSo, she put on a fierce face and said, “If you two don’t behave, I will eat you both.”
n“We will behave for sure.” Luna nodded vigorously, having decided to temporarily submit to this woman. Once her father god descended into this Prime World, they wouldn’t have to fear anything.
n“Very good!” On the way back, Alice had already asked the butler to prepare new clothes and toiletries for the two kids.
nNow at home, she opened the bathroom and filled the bathtub with water, asking, “Who wants to bathe first?”
nSeeing the water in the tub, Luna felt a tingling in her scalp, swallowed hard, her eyes wide with surprise, and asked, “Bathing with this?”
n“Of course.” Alice suddenly realized that these two kids might not have bathed in such a luxurious bathtub before, so she said, “Don’t be afraid, just lie down in it and I’ll help you wash. Luna, since you’re a girl, you go first.”
nLuna was close to tears as she timidly asked, “Can I not bathe?”
nWith a mischievous smile on her face, Alice, like a big bad wolf, said, “If you don’t bathe, I’ll eat you up. I’m thinking whether to stew or grill you.”
nAlthough Alice was clearly joking, the two children were seriously frightened.
nLuna’s face turned pale, and with a sorrowful look, she said, “I’ll get into the water and take a bath right away!”
n“That’s my good girl,” Alice said, pinching Luna’s cheek affectionately and leading her into the bathroom.
nWith Luna’s strength, she could instantly evaporate all the water in the tub if she wanted to, but she didn’t dare.
nShe could only tremble in the bathtub, her face full of despair.
nAlice didn’t think too much of it, simply assuming the child didn’t like bathing.
nBut cleanliness is essential, especially for children, so bathing was non-negotiable.
nLittle did she know that she had just become the first human in history to forcibly bathe a phoenix.
nErebus shivered outside the bathroom, thinking the woman was incredibly cruel. Knowing Luna’s true identity, she still insisted on bathing her in water…
nAlice couldn’t understand why Luna looked so unhappy when one could watch TV and enjoy snacks while soaking in the bathtub.
nAfter Luna came out of the bathroom, she looked completely wilted, flopping onto the bed, dispirited.
nThen, Erebus was also dragged by Alice into the bathroom for a bath. 𝑖𝘦.𝒸𝘰𝘮
nAlice felt like she was getting a taste of motherhood ahead of time. Taking care of children, especially bathing them, was quite a challenge.
nIf Luna knew what Alice was thinking, she might cry a river of tears.
nIn her eyes, her own ordeal was surely the hardest of all!
