nHan Zhan was too tall. Being nearly 1.9m tall, he felt very uncomfortable when he bent over to change clothes.

nThe car was very cramped and Han Zhan’s hands and feet would always touch Song Ci when he was moving. The two of them had been separated for a week and seeing each other again felt like a newlyweds’ honeymoon. When Han Zhan’s elbow touched Song Ci, both of them were silent.

nAfter changing clothes, Han Zhan tilted his head and saw Song Ci’s gaze drifting down. He didn’t know what she was looking at…

n“Can you not look at me like that?” Being stared at by Song Ci in that manner made Han Zhan feel like a beast.

nSong Ci also knew that she was intentionally provoking him. She rubbed her nose, and turned to look out of the window, counting the raindrops on the glass.

nAfter a long while, the car finally came to a stop. The drowsy Song Ci heard Han Zhan talking to the driver. She opened her eyes and looked out of the window, only to realize that the car had already stopped at the basement.

n

n

nSong Ci alighted and walked up to Han Zhan.

nHan Zhan thanked the driver and each hand pulled a luggage bag, as he entered the lift with Song Ci. After entering the lift, Song Ci was about to act coquettishly to Han Zhan, when someone entered.

nIt was a young boy who looked like he was in high school. He was wearing a yellow polo shirt and carrying a basketball. He must have recognized Song Ci, and couldn’t resist glancing at her after entering the lift.

nSong Ci was a very sensible person, and knew that the young man was looking at her. She suddenly hugged Han Zhan’s arm, coughed lightly, and said to the young man, “Little Brother, don’t miss me. There’s no use.”

n

n

nThat young man’s face turned red. Upon reaching the ninth floor, he hurriedly ducked out like a coward. Once he left, Han Zhan smiled. “You even bully little kids.”

n“How is he little?” Song Ci argued. “He is at most four to five years younger than me.”

nHan Zhan said, “If he’s four to five years younger than you, isn’t he just a little kid?”

nSong Ci suddenly laughed.

nHan Zhan didn’t understand what she was laughing at. “What are you laughing at?”

nSong Ci stared at Han Zhan’s deep-set eyes and sneered. “I am 10 years younger than you, but am I not also a little kid? Let me interview you, Mr. Han. Don’t you feel guilty doing adult things with little kids? Don’t you feel like you are worse than a beast?”

n

n

nWith the two accusations of having a bad reputation and being worse than a beast, Han Zhan was suddenly stumped and lost his ability to argue.

nSong Ci felt much better seeing Han Zhan awkward.

nfuzzyWhen they got out of the lift, Song Ci took the initiative to help Han Zhan with the luggage. The two of them dragged their luggage home. Han Zhan opened the door, and was about to move his luggage into the entryway when Song Ci hugged him from behind.

nHer long arms rested on Han Zhan’s bluish-grey shirt. The contrast was stark. Song Ci rubbed her head against his back non-stop. “Brother Han…” She only called him Brother Han, but her hint was clear.

nHan Zhan very calmly pulled her hands away. He turned around, looked down at Song Ci’s overly exquisite face, and said sternly, “Little kid, after hearing your condemnation, I just want to be a person now.”

nSong Ci was momentarily dazed.

nWhen Song Ci understood that Han Zhan was talking about what happened in the lift, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

nThis man is so petty.

n

n

n“Then, I beg you to be a beast.” Song Ci was shameless and took the initiative to apologize. Han Zhan tried to hold it in but couldn’t. He leaned his forehead against Song Ci’s and murmured softly to her, “Baby Ci, why are you so unafraid of death?”

nShe is truly young and unrestrained.

nSong Ci was very arrogant. “How will I know if I don’t try?”

nHan Zhan raised his brows.

nAlright, let’s give it a try.

nOutside the window, there was thunder and the sound of rain. The sky was dark and the room was dark and dangerous without the lights on. However, there was a frightening charm to it that could attract people to their deaths.

nThe lightning had left several horrifying scratches on the edges of the city outside the French window, like tangled roots. The frightening light landed on the French window. Song Ci instinctively turned to look at that light, but Han Zhan covered her eyes with his hand.

nRumble…

nThe thunder was deafening.

nAmidst the deafening thunder, Song Ci heard Han Zhan’s satisfied grunt.

nHe had let her die and brought her back to life.

n…

nSong Ci laid limply on the bed, her head resting on the pure black pillow. As she had cried, the corners of her eyes were red. Han Zhan was on the phone at the side, his voice calm and cold, completely different from the beast who kept pestering her to call him big brother.

n

n

nSong Ci glanced at the items in the dustbin and looked slightly puzzled. It was her ovulation period and the best time to get pregnant. Why did Han Zhan have to avoid pregnancy?

nIs she too ugly to bear the Han Family’s baby?

nSong Ci’s imagination ran wild as the person beside her finally hung up. Seeing that Song Ci was still awake, Han Zhan asked if she was not sleepy.

nSong Ci shook her head.

n“I want to ask you a question.”

n“Mmm?” Han Zhan’s bass voice was lazy and strangely enticing.

nSong Ci turned over and looked at Han Zhan’s side profile leaning against the head of the bed.

nNo matter how I look at him, he is perfect.

n“Why is your surname Han?”

nOnce this question was asked, Song Ci saw that all the warmth on Han Zhan’s face had completely disappeared. Instantly, Song Ci felt that the temperature in the house had dropped. She suddenly realized that Han Zhan was actually a very scary person. If he didn’t intentionally conceal his aura, no one would dare to get close to him.

nSong Ci carefully poked Han Zhan’s collarbone. “Brother Han, don’t scare me. You’re quite scary like this.”

nSong Ci’s poke seemed to have cleared Han Zhan’s acupoints, and he finally regained his composure. He shook his head slightly. He didn’t wish to explain this but also didn’t wish to lie to Song Ci. “I don’t really want to tell you. I’ll tell you in the future.”

nSong Ci quickly agreed.

nSince she had made Han Zhan unhappy just now, Song Ci didn’t dare to say another word. She was still scared and couldn’t fall asleep.

nShe was shocked by Han Zhan’s behavior just now.

nRealizing Song Ci’s uneasiness, Han Zhan suddenly hugged her. “Don’t think too much, sleep.”

nSong Ci closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.

nAs she pretended to be asleep, she really fell into a deep sleep, and even the thunder could not wake her up.

n…

nWhen she woke up, it was already dark. Song Ci opened her eyes and turned on the lights. She put on her sleeping robe and went downstairs. She saw that the lights were on in the meeting room on the second floor, and she could hear the voices of strangers. Occasionally, Han Zhan would also say something in agreement.

nSong Ci decided to make dinner first.

nShe opened the fridge and felt slightly awkward. When Han Zhan was not at home, the fridge was emptied by her. Song Ci found a sweet potato, some noodles, and three eggs.

nAfter Han Zhan finished his video conference and came downstairs, he saw dinner on the table and instantly frowned with a gloomy expression.

nTwo roasted sweet potatoes, a bowl of egg noodles and two fried eggs. This was dinner…

nSong Ci acted like she was presenting a treasure. She pushed the bowl of egg noodles and a purple potato in front of Han Zhan, and said to him with a smile, “Brother Han, you can have all the good stuff.” She only kept two eggs for herself.

nHan Zhan walked over quietly and sat down. He glanced at the items on the table and said, “Give them all to me. This is not enough.”

n
