Chapter 144

Yuan Jin was setting up his camera as he called out Lu Xinyi’s name. “Xinxin! Can you come here, please?”

Lu Xinyi sighed and walked over to him.

“What is it? You know this is ridiculous. I thought you already have a theme on your mind when I agreed to help you.” She crossed her arms and pouted. They’d been trying different themes and poses, but Yuan Jin just couldn’t get what he wanted!

He clapped his hand, and some of his people from the wardrobe came over.

“Change her dress. I think Flair Apparel sent us some from their new collection. I’m pretty sure you can find the right size for her,” Yuan Jin said. A young woman stepped forward and checked her body measurement.

“Boss, I thought we’re going to use Starlight Collection for this campaign? Did they reject your proposal?”

Yuan Jin shook his head. “No, I withdrew it.” He heard from a reliable source that Sun Feiyan had bought Starlight recently. Of course, he wouldn’t work with someone who had mal intent to his Xinxin!-.

Now changed into a flowy form-fitting red dress with a high slit on one side, Lu Xinyi stumbled behind the changing screen. She eyed at the nefarious high heels that the wardrobe team forced her to wear. Fuck this five-inch heels! It was hurting her feet.

“I can’t walk in these. Do I really have to?” She sat down in front of the huge mirror within the dressing room and let Chen Xiang fix her hair.

“Of course, Xinxin. You’ll need it.” Chen Xiang said with a chuckle as she pinned one of Lu Xinyi’s curly locks away from her face.

Lu Xinyi blinked at that but decided that she’d just go with the flow as long as they could finish the photo shoot. Damn, she was tired and exhausted. It was like her comfy bed was calling out to her from their own house.

Lu Xinyin swallowed. She didn’t like the look on Yuan Jin’s face. It was like he was up to something, and her instincts were telling her to be on her guard. She walked back to the studio and almost embarrassed herself when she tripped on the wires lying on the floor.

“Let’s get started. President Shen, are you ready?” Yuan Jin called out.

A moment later, Shen Yi joined his wife, dressed in a black suit. He spotted Lu Xinyi on the other side and grinned.

“What are you doing here?!” Lu Xinyi asked, confusion written on her face.

“Doing a favor for your best friend. You look…”—Shen Yi’s eyes appreciated her dress— “enticing.”

Her face flushed red, but she blushed even further upon seeing her husband dressed in all black.

“You look like Dracula,” she scoffed. Shen Yi walked towards her and pulled her into his embrace. Yuan Jin’s face lit up and started snapping photos of the couple.

Ah, he’d never seen that look on Lu Xinyi’s eyes when she was still with that bastard. He guessed meeting the right man for her had given her a reason to be truly happy in her life.

“My, my, Xinyi. I didn’t know that’s your secret fantasy. Will you allow me with just one bite then?” Shen Yi said seductively in her ear.

“No, you freaking pervert! Get away from me!”

Lu Xinyi pushed him away from her, but the tinge on her cheeks was still obvious.

“Okay, this is just a test run. I need to see how comfortable the two of you are with each other.”

To be honest, being married should have made it easier, but knowing Lu Xinyi, Yuan Jin was sure that there was still reservations between the two. Their marriage was too fast, and they were still at the phasepace of knowing each other.

“Let’s start with a dance.” Yuan Jin lifted a hand, signaling one of his assistants to play music. “President Shen, if you could please lead Xinxin in a dance.”

Shen Yi grinned, and without further ado, took his wife’s hand and placed a hand on her hip. She squeaked a little as he moved them around but was quick to follow his steps.

“You dance well.”

“This isn’t my first time to dance, buster.”

As they talked and danced like they were the only people within the studio, Yuan Jin took advantage and snapped many photos as much as possible.

Lu Xinyi seemed more relaxed and comfortable than he had known her to be, showing more smiles and emotions on her usual resting bitch face. She looked prettier and livelier now that she was married to President Shen.

Yuan Jin was more than pleased with the result and had found the perfect theme for his entry to beat Sun Feiyan’s magazine.

Shen Yi twirled his wife and pulled her close. With their chest pressed against each other, Lu Xinyi could feel the strong and loud beating of his heart against hers. She blushed at their close proximity, her eyes meeting his gaze.

He then dipped her, a hand supporting her back while her arm went around his neck. His hands were strong but gentle as he held her. Lu Xinyi saw something warm in his eyes as if she was the only one he could see at that moment.

She could see his desire and admiration in his eyes. She had never seen that look on Gong Yijun even though they had spent years together. He’d never hold her like this, never made her feel love like this.

It was Shen Yi who made her feel that she mattered. That she was special.

Lu Xinyi leaned her face up to him, brushing her lips gently against his. Shen Yi’s eyes lidded and let his wife lead their kiss. Lost on their own world, they had failed to notice the squealing staff watching them kiss, with Yuan Jin shaking his head, being forced to watch PDA in his own studio.
