Chapter 146

Shen Yi was listening to the presentation in front of him, but his mind was somewhere else. Ah, this was the day that Yuan Jin and Lu Xinyi would take photos for the magazine, and he’d missed the opportunity to see her in her fairy costume.

Fuck meetings. Fuck work. He missed his wife. If only Shen Xue could do his job, he wouldn’t mind leaving everything to him so he could drive to where the photo shoot was.

He really wanted to see her in her costume. Although there would be another chance since they would be doing the next session, Shen Yi would rather run to where his wife was so he could watch Yuan Jin’s magic on Lu Xinyi.

It was then that his phone beeped, letting him know it was Lu Xinyi’s message again. He was expecting to receive another complaint from her, but what surprised him was the photo attached to her message.

She was wearing a black wig with long, shiny hair. The lower half of her face was covered with a mask, and there was a veil that was almost see-through. With half of her face covered, Lu Xinyi’s eyes became more appealing to him.

He was staring at the screen of his phone that he failed to notice that the presenter stopped midway, and all of them were looking at him with worried and confused eyes. His father and Shen Xue also had given him a look. -.

What was so amusing on his phone that President Shen was smiling like a devil in his seat? They started to sweat profusely, hoping that none of them had offended their Boss Yi.

“What’s that?” Shen Xue leaned forward to take a look at his brother’s phone. “Ohh… Dad, look!”

Shen Huang sighed and tapped his fingers on the table. Why was Shen Yi getting distracted now?

“What is it now?” he asked.

Snatching the phone from his elder brother’s hand, Shen Xue showed Lu Xinyi’s photo to their father. Shen Huang blinked twice before he realized that the woman in the photo was his daughter-in-law.

“Isn’t she beautiful, Dad?” Shen Xue grinned. “I bet that’s the reason why Brother was hesitant to be here.” He gave Shen Yi a wink.

Shen Huang nodded. It was really odd to see his eldest son being charmed by a woman. By a Sun granddaughter of all people. It wasn’t like he disapproved of Lu Xinyi, but at least, she wasn’t like the rest of the Sun family.

“En. I didn’t know she could model well,” he agreed.

Their employees gaped at them. What? Were they talking about that woman who was seen with President Shen during the charity gala? He was dating a model? They all shared the same thought and nodded to themselves.

So contrary to public belief, Shen Yi wasn’t a gay after all. He just needed the right woman to come along to make him interested.

Shen Yi glared at his brother and took back his phone. This photo would be his new screensaver until he received a better one. The presenter coughed, taking back all of their attention to their meeting.

“Proceed.” Shen Yi said, giving his phone one last glance before forcing himself to focus on their agenda.

An hour later, he received another message. This time, it came from Yuan Jin. His eyes gleamed as the short clip of Lu Xinyi’s dance played on his phone.

Yuan Jin was so thrilled that he couldn’t stop himself from snapping photos of Lu Xinyi as she moved from the garden to the pool. Her movements were so natural and smooth; she was like floating in the air when her long dress trailed behind her.

Chen Xiang shook her head and crossed her arms under her chest as she watched Yuan Jin take photos of their model from different angles. She knew that the only reason Yuan Jin was interested to join the competition was to beat that man, his former partner who took one of his masterpieces two years ago.

It didn’t help that Sun Feiyan collaborated with the other magazine to compete against Yuan Jin. It was like adding fuel to the fire. Chen Xiang could practically see his eyes burning in passion as he took and snapped photos of Lu Xinyi.

“Yes! That’s it, Xinxin! Keep up that expression on your face. Imagine President Shen waiting for you.” Yuan Jin said and Lu Xinyi’s lips twitched, the corners of her mouth lifting for a smile.

Yuan Jin hummed and continued snapping pictures. He would delete the bad images later anyway. He just didn’t wanna miss Lu Xinyi’s reaction.

“Or much better imagine your favorite cheesecake I’ll give you later!”

Lu Xinyi’s small smile bloomed into a wide grin as she ran her fingers at the petals of the flowers on the bushes. She then reached the pool and stood on the edge, her small form reflected on the water surface. It was time for her to dance.

“Do what I taught you earlier. You can do it, love!” She heard Yuan Jin’s voice from the other side of the pool.

Slow music played in the background. She looked at her reflection in the surface of the pool. The mirror-like effect made her realize what her best friend was planning.

She slowly stuck her leg out and let the tip of her shoes disturb and make ripples on the surface. The space was narrow so she had to be careful, or else she would fall into the water. She then started to move in the beat of the music, following the choreographer’s movements beside Yuan Jin.

Lu Xinyi made a twirling motion, her long sleeves spreading around her. Her reflection mimicked her actions, creating a mesmerizing effect of her dancing. Just like what Yuan Jin visualized, Lu Xinyi resembled a fairy of the lake.
