Chapter 148
How many times can someone fall in love? Because for Lu Xinyi, she felt like she would never be free from these feelings she had for her husband and would rather not lose them forever.
When the two started to film the commercial ad, her breath was caught when she saw Shen Yi came to the scene. How come he looked so dashing in those green and white robes without even trying? He resembled a handsome prince pulled out from the historical drama she’d seen in television and movies.
The first part of the ad was a minute-and-a-half video, taken with Shen Yi playing as the human emperor and Lu Xinyi as the immortal fairy. The two had met when the crown prince, who later became the emperor, was saved by the fairy. She had instantly fallen in love at first sight with him, but because of their differences, the fairy chose not to be close to him.
The next scenes came in a blur as the two spent more time with each other, their love blooming as the war progressed. The star-crossed lovers had exchanged love knotted bracelets as a token of their love—as the fairy was hunted by her kind while the emperor faced the end of the war where he found his own death.
The second video focused on the reincarnated versions of the lovers in the modern world and how they found each other again. It took Yuan Jin, with Lu Xiulan’s help, five days to complete the whole campaign for the love knotted jewelry set of the luxury brand ‘Enchanted Soul’.-.
Shen Yi blinked as he adjusted his eyes from the bright lighting while his wife gave him a shy smile. Where did the vixen, who was trying to tease him the other day, go? Lu Xinyi’s mouth made an ‘o’ as she took in his white tux which, of course, came without a tie.
“Where’s the tie?” Lu Xinyi laughed.
“I rather not look like a dog with a leash if I’m going to marry you.”
“You look so dashing today,” she blurted out. Shen Yi smirked when he saw her cheeks burn red. He walked over her and knelt on one knee.
“You’re a vision, my love,” which made her face red as a tomato.
Lu Xinyi was wearing a white wedding dress with a golden tiara. Her midsection had a red sash on, with the edges of her dress laced with gold and embroidered with the same white flowers used on her fairy costume.
They hadn’t noticed Lu Xiulan directing her crew to give a close shot of their faces while Yuan Jin took his own camera and started taking pictures of the couple.
Yuan Jin grinned. Ever since he saw the two, he knew that there was a line of never-ending ideas and themes that he could use for them. He was quite tempted to ask them to do a Hades-and-Persephone-themed photo shoot, but he supposed this one favor was already big enough for him.
As a special thanks, he had already prepared the wedding photos of the two as well as Lu Xinyi’s exclusive photos during their first photo shoot for Shen Yi.

On the other side of the city, Meng Jiao sat alone in a cafe, waiting for someone to come see her. The feeling of emptiness inside of her was still there, and she wondered if there would be a time that it would disappear.
Weeks ago, she had aborted her own baby after agreeing to Sun Feiyan’s proposal. She needed someone to back her up and support her while attending Silver Leaf. Who else could help her to achieve her goals but Sun Feiyan?
The woman had come knocking on her door, asking her to do her best to pass Silver Leaf’s exams, and in return, the Sun family would sponsor and provide everything she needs. Of course, she knew what was the price for this.
Meng Jiao scoffed internally. Did Sun Feiyan think she could use her as a pawn to spy on Lu Xinyi? She wasn’t as naive as that woman.
“I’m sorry, I am late.” A woman arrived and sat across the table, giving Meng Jiao a warm smile.
Meng Jiao eyed her. To be honest, she had never seen a woman as beautiful as Sun Feiyan, but there was something about her that made her think that several red flags were up if Sun Feiyan was involved.
The Young Miss of the Sun family was a two-faced woman, and Meng Jiao was sure of that.
She had a long black hair that reached up to her waist. Her nails were well-manicured; even her white dress came from a famous brand that Meng Jiao knew she couldn’t afford and wouldn’t dare to buy. Her round pitch black eyes seemed like they could see through one’s soul once it’s met one’s gaze, and Meng Jiao didn’t like that feeling.
Just how much did this woman hate Lu Xinyi anyway, that she took all the trouble to meet her here and make sure she was prepared for the incoming examinations?
As far as Meng Jiao knew, her ex-best friend wasn’t interested to contest her inheritance and rights as a member of the Sun family, but this woman, including the other members of the Sun family, had been trying to force Lu Xinyi to sign away everything legally.
“It’s fine. I didn’t wait too long.” Meng Jiao replied while a waitress served their drinks. She knew she was being used by Sun Feiyan, but if they could help each other, she didn’t mind throwing dirt at Lu Xinyi at Silver Leaf Academy.
