Chapter 390

Meng Jiao had really walked out? In the middle of their remedial exams?

The judges shook their heads and summoned a staff to look after Meng Jiao. Abandoning the competition meant she was forfeiting her chances to earn the points. This automatically meant that the 100 points she could earn from the devil’s cake round would be credited to Lu Xinyi.

‘I bet she’s cursing me again. Of course, it will be my fault despite the fact that she brought it upon herself.’

Lu Xinyi let out a low whistle. This was beyond her expectations. Some people might think it was her fault for pushing Meng Jiao to do it, but did it matter?

It was too bad though that Meng Jiao conceded defeat even before she could give the final blow to destroy her. Her eyes swept towards the audience area where her husband was seated. She saw Shen Yi casually chatting with Director Tang. When Shen Yi sensed her gaze, his eyes met hers and let a small smile cross on his lips.

Aside from her husband, she felt another pair of eyes set on her. Turning her head to the right, Lu Xinyi found Sun Feiyan staring at her with indifference. She wondered if her cousin was mad at her for kicking out Meng Jiao from the competition.

Lu Xinyi met her stare with confidence. There’s no need for her to submit to Sun Feiyan. The two were in an intense staring until Sun Feiyan was forced to break it when President Liu asked her a question.

From the start, Lu Xinyi was aware that Sun Feiyan took Meng Jiao to keep an eye on her. It was just a coincidence that Lu Xinyi hated being watched by others, one reason why she rejected the idea of having bodyguards before. Now that Meng Jiao was out of the competition, she wouldn’t have to worry if someone would stab her in the back again.-.

The exams continued at the last leg, finishing everything with the devil’s cake.

In the end, Lu Xinyi still came victorious as her devil’s cake remained the disputed champion. The huge screen flashed the final results of the remedial exam before revealing the current rank for the special class for junior year.

1. Lu Xinyi (SY Holdings) 1,630 points

2. Ye Xieren (Li Corporation) 1,470 points

3. Yan Chen (Liu Electronics) 1,425 points

4. Tang Liang (Griffin Entertainment) 1,300 points

5. Tang Lilou (Griffin Entertainment) 1, 280 points

6. Feng Qianyu (Independent) 1,150 points

7. Surya Rathore (Independent) 1,135 points

There was an uproar at the crowd while some cheered and celebrated for winning the bets they made. It was a really tough competition between the top three students although Meng Jiao’s overwhelming defeat had made Lu Xinyi’s points jump from Ye Xieren and Yan Chen’s points.

“Fuck! Ye Xieren still hasn’t got the top rank again!” Someone complained.

Manly laughter resounded next to him and said.

“I learned from my mistakes from the last time. It’s good that I placed my bet on Miss Lu.”

“You are right, my friend. Although this is the first time the Shen family joined the competition, do you think President Shen will send someone not worthy to bear their name?”

“Isn’t Lu Xinyi President Shen’s girlfriend? Of course, he will support her. No wonder he dropped everything just to watch her cook against her classmates.”

This kind of spectators weren’t students of Silver Leaf Academy but normal people who followed the ranking and competition within the academy. The academy itself had nothing to do with this betting and distanced the institution and its students from this kind of activities.

The screen flashed again, this time showing the pictures of the top 5 students of the junior year with Lu Xinyi in the middle with a golden crown and number 1 beside her name. On her left was Ye Xieren, right was Yan Chen, and the Tang twins taking the slots on both ends.

Tang Shui clapped his hands amazed that both of his children and her niece did a great job. He couldn’t wait to go home and share this wonderful news with his aunt.

“You must be really proud of her.” He nudged Shen Yi’s side to get his attention.

Shen Yi raised a brow while the older man winked back.

“Proud is an understatement, Uncle,” Shen Yi shamelessly regarded Tang Shui as a relative, “Xinxin has never been a disappointment to me. Even if she lost today, my girl will still be my number one.”

Tang Shui laughed at Shen Yi’s words. He patted his shoulder and gave Shen Yi a nod for approval.

“Good, good. Our Xin’er only deserves the best. If you have some time, you and Xin’er should pay us a visit soon,” he offered.

Shen Yi smiled but didn’t commit. He only said that he had to discuss it first with Lu Xinyi.

At this time, Lu Xinyi sought her husband’s reaction again. She wondered if he was pleased with the results. His expression didn’t have any difference from earlier, quietly sitting at the audience. She suddenly felt a sudden urge to come running back to his arms and tell him how she was able to kick Meng Jiao’s ass.

As the remedial exam came into the end, thirty students of the special class of Silver Leaf Academy were reduced to sixteen. Fourteen students wouldn’t advance on the next term including Meng Jiao.

When everyone saw the final tally of the scores and ranking, the spectators at the audience area started whispering to each other.

“Meng Jiao is eliminated; does this mean that the Sun family is also out of the game?”

“Silly, are you forgetting that they still have a representative in the senior year? Losing Meng Jiao shouldn’t be a problem for them as long as their senior year representative could perform better.”

“The next competition on this cooking arena will be the first cooking battle for this school year. Two very promising students from both junior and senior year will be competing for the 10th place for the cream of the crop.”

When Huo Meili announced this, the remaining students of the junior year glanced at Lu Xinyi’s way. They all know that this battle was between her and the queen of patisserie, Han Yixin.

Huo Meili’s gaze swept down the stage and found Lu Xinyi.

“The competition will be in three days. Miss Lu, We’re expecting a spectacular performance. Please do your best!” she cheered.

Three days? Lu Xinyi suddenly felt that three days was too long to wait. Can they just start the next battle on the spot? She’s ready to face Han Yixin anytime.
