Chapter 451

When Zheng Yue didn’t say something in return, Lu Feiran continued.

“You’ve made the right choice leaving Redux Entertainment for Griffin. I can assure you, the Tang family would help you achieve your dreams as long as you are willing to work hard for it.”

“I do!” Zheng Yue gripped her skirt and exclaimed at what Lu Feiran said. If he was telling the truth, then she wouldn’t need to worry about her setbacks and should focus on how to excel in her career. She’d make Chu Ting and everyone who belittled her regret it!

On the other hand, Yuan Jin and Shen Yi watched the interaction between the two. The frown on Shen Yi’s face deepened as he continued to watch them.

Yuan Jin nudged his side to take his attention. Shen Yi stepped back, forgetting how Yuan Jin could be touchy. The perverted grin that appeared on Yuan Jin’s face was sending alarms to Shen Yi’s mind.

“President Shen hasn’t visited me for a long time. It seems my Xiao Xinxin is keeping you busy, eh?” Yuan Jin winked on him much to Shen Yi’s horror.

He hadn’t forgotten what happened the last time he met this BFF of his wife. And hey, he hadn’t forgotten that kitchen disaster he’d made because of this guy’s suggestion! Now, his wife refused to eat any meal he tried to make for her.

“We’re doing just fine. Just a little busy.” Shen Yi tried to make their distance farther by stepping back again. -.

“Any trouble with your marriage so far? Don’t forget, I’m your royal advisor,” Yuan Jin reminded him.

Shen Yi laughed awkwardly. He would never get used to Yuan Jin’s teasing.

Meanwhile, Wang Zhuyi could only watch Lu Feiran from afar. The last time she’d seen him, Xia Yuhan mentioned that he was already in a relationship. It was something that didn’t sit well in her. However, she knew she shouldn’t expect that someone like Lu Feiran would notice her. It was already enough that he considered her as a friend.

The photoshoot started at once, making everyone busy with their respective tasks. Lu Feiran looked on the clock on the wall for the umpteenth time. He withheld his urge to sigh. His stomach was starting to grumble now.

It was already past seven in the evening, and Yuan Jin wasn’t done taking pictures of Zheng Yue and Wang Zhuyi.

“Miss Wang, please tilt your head closer to Miss Zheng. You have to be the dominant one between the two of you!” Yuan Jin’s voice resounded within the studio. He then pointed to Zheng Yue’s direction.

“And you Miss Zheng! You are the Ice Queen here. Show me your best shot!”

“Good! Now, Miss Wang, don’t scowl and show me your bad side!”

Yuan Jin continued to instruct. It seemed like Wang Zhuyi was having a hard time playing her role as the Fiery Lady while Zheng Yue played her Ice Queen role.

The Fire and Ice campaign for Flair Apparel’s next collection was made by Xia Yuhan and Yuan Jin. Lu Xinyi had given them a go signal as long as the quality of the products and marketing promotions of the campaign would boost up the sales of Flair Apparel. She’d also had to approve each proposal and would be hands-on at the launching of their next collection.

What she wanted was to crush Starlight Collection completely, forcing Sun Qiyan to give up her position to the Sun Corporation. If she was smart enough, she should know by now who the big boss of Flair Apparel was.

“I’m sorry…” Wang Zhuyi was aware that she had already made several mistakes.

“Oh, I’m sorry, too,” Yuan Jin stated out with a hint of sympathy. This wasn’t the first time a model made his work unbearable.

He was almost at the end of his patience. If it wasn’t for Lu Xinyi suggesting Wang Zhuyi, he wouldn’t bother working with her. It was easy for Zheng Yue to portray her role as an Ice Queen in a modern suit, but Wang Zhuyi was dressed in a red lace dress.

“Why don’t we have a short break?” Zheng Yue suggested as she cast a pitiful look at Wang Zhuyi.

“Fine, maybe dinner will help her regain her energy.” The photographer easily agreed and asked someone to order food, and they’d pick up where they left off later even if they weren’t going far to begin with.

“Are you alright? Do you need some help to get in the right mood?” Zheng Yue asked Wang Zhuyi.

Wang Zhuyi started to sniff and nodded. She already felt bad that she’s stalling their progress. Lu Feiran must also be disappointed with her working attitude today. Who could blame her? She might be a popular online influencer, but she knew nothing about modeling at all!

As Yuan Jin went back to where he left the Shen Yi and Lu Feiran, he found out that the two were already missing. He shook his head, knowing Lu Xinyi had convinced her husband to treat her for food again.

Just like what Yuan Jin had predicted, Lu Feiran took Shen Yi away from the studio. However, instead of bringing him to a restaurant, Lu Feiran brought him on a street food market much to his horror.

Shen Yi, the President of Shen Group of Companies, had never been to a street market food at night. He did try several street foods with Lu Xinyi earlier, but she never brought him to a street market before.

Seeing his perplexed state, Lu Feiran grinned.

“What? Are you backing out now? Miss Wang was able to eat the foods I’ve presented to her, and you’re here chickening out?”

“Who said I’m chickening out?” Shen Yi gave him a pointed look.

Just remembering that Lu Feiran dated Wang Zhuyi behind his back was enough to rile him up.

“Let’s go.” Shen Yi wasn’t concerned about where Lu Xinyi was taking him, but he doubted the cleanliness and safety of these street foods.

Whilst street food was certainly delicious and a fun way to become part of local culture, one couldn’t help but often find themselves asking ‘is street food safe?’ Shen Yi was surely one of them.

Lu Feiran pulled his arm and sat beside a food stall, ordering two orders of dumplings, two bowls of sesame paste noodles, and a bowl of beef curry. He also added pork stewed in chilies for them to try.

Shen Yi could only watch as he could only guess that his wife would spend hours of eating again.

His wife wolfed down her own dumplings before she grinned at him. Shen Yi fought the urge to roll his eyes. Why did she order for two if his share would end up eaten by her anyway?

“Here.” He pushed his plate towards his wife. “Maybe you should order three next time,” he added.

Lu Xinyi ignored him once again and, with glee, ate three dumplings under a minute.

“Wow, is that your new record?” Shen Yi cupped the side of his chin and decided to get entertainment from his wife. It was always nice to watch her eat food with a smile on her face.

“Shut up and eat your share. If you don’t, I’ll eat it myself!”

Man, the amount of food his wife could eat in a day… he was still surprised that she was able to burn all those calories and keep her figure in shape.
