nGolden rays of the sun washed into the bedroom, brightening up the room making the two occupants of the bed that it was already morning. Lu Xinyi’s head lying on the well-muscled chest of her husband, her hands splayed on his torso as she slept soundly, her body pressed against his.
nIt had been two weeks since their wedding night after his business trip at City H. After coming back to the capital city, Shen Yi had requested her to move in the master bedroom with him. Since then they stop their pretense and had admitted that they care for each other.
nShen Yi’s eyelids stirred as the light hit them. His eyes slowly opening to adjust on the sudden change within the room. His head immediately turned to where his wife lay. A small smile crossed on his lips, lights flickered in his eyes
nHe still found it surprising that Lu Xinyi hadn’t come to her senses and left him. He didn’t think that he could easily let her go so easily when he’d just found her. He curled his arm around her, his thumb rubbing her shoulder.
nHis wife wasn’t a morning person but there were times that he woke up not seeing her on his side. Ever since then Lu Xinyi made sure that she will stay in bed with him until he came from his slumber.
nShe insisted to use her cute pajamas than those new nightdresses he’d given to her. Sometimes Shen Yi wondered if he married a woman or a kid. She was so childish at times.-.
nLu Xinyi hummed softly and adjusted her position in his chest. His hand finding her long locks, his lips placing a chaste kiss on her forehead. She groaned silently as her brown eyes fluttered open only to see her husband watching her sleep.
n“Morning,” she murmured, her eyes meeting his.
n“Good morning.” Shen Yi replied, his arm snaking around her body while he adjusted himself so he could kiss her properly. “Did you sleep well?”
n“Hmm…yeah, at least you didn’t snore last night.”
n“I don’t snore.” he denied. Lu Xinyi giggled.
n“You’re up early.”
n“It’s already Monday. I need to go early.” he sighed.
n“Why is it that Monday is so far from Friday and yet Friday is so near to Monday?” she pouted. “I hate Mondays.”
nLu Xinyi hummed as she felt his hand sliding on her sides.
n“I have no idea.” Shen Yi chuckled.
n“You should go and prepare. You’ll be late.”
nHis reply was to hug her tight before rolling over her, one hand on her hips the other running up and down on her side.
n“The company will be fine for a day without me. Besides no one can fire the boss, right?”
nHis phone rang but Shen Yi ignored it.
n“Did you hear something?” Lu Xinyi asked while Shen Yi peppered her neck with kisses.
n“My name in a moment,” he whispered against her skin.
nHe tilted her chin up for a kiss, his hand started unbuttoning her pajamas. Lu Xinyi struggled in vain but let her husband discard it and tossed across the room. Crawling between her thighs, he took her slowly and lovingly as he stared deep down into her eyes.
nIt was only after an hour later when they laid spent with him on his back and Lu Xinyi curled on his side. His phone rang again breaking the comfortable silence between them.
n“You have to take it.” Lu Xinyi said. She was already getting used on his sudden meetings. “It might be important.”
nShen Yi groaned but nevertheless picked up his phone and answered it. Staring on the screen, he saw it was Qiao He.
n“What is it?”
nSilence.
n“I thought you said it will be tomorrow afternoon.” Shen Yi sat up and ran a hand on his hair in frustration. A sharp exhale escaping his lips as he looked at the clock on his table.
n“Fine. I will be there in an hour.” he snapped before disconnecting the call.
n“So boss can’t decide for himself eh. Just one call from his assistant and he has to obey.” Lu Xinyi said sarcastically. She watched him reaching on his side, grabbing a pair of boxers and slipping them on. He then walked towards their shared walk-in closet and took some clothes for work.
nWhen he came back, Lu Xinyi was still on the bed, smiling back to him. He took a brief kiss from her before heading to the bathroom.
nAh, who said it was only Lu Xinyi that hates Mondays?
n
