n“Xue,” Shen Yi interrupted his brother’s thoughts, causing Shen Xue and Lu Xinyi looked at him at the same time. “I would like you to meet, Lu Xinyi.”

nLu Xinyi gave Shen Xue a small smile and gave a slight bow. Her actions caught her brother in law off guard, his slacked jaws almost hitting the floor in shock.

n“It’s pleasure to meet you. I’m Lu Xinyi,” she smiled and extended a hand for him to shake.

nShen Xue gave his brother a confused look, his hand scratching his head in frustration. Lu Xinyi retracted her hand when she realized that Shen Xue was too shocked to respond on her. She casted a worried look to her husband and held his arm.

n“You…” Shen Xue lifted a finger and pointed it to Lu Xinyi. “Who are you? And why are you with my brother?”

n“Ah, I’m Shen Yi’s—”but before Lu Xinyi could finish her words, Shen Xue gripped the side of his head and murmured to himself.-.

n“No.No. This is impossible. My brother doesn’t have a girlfriend, right?” he asked himself.

nShen Yi frowned when he heard his brother demoted his wife to be just a girlfriend. Wife was the right term. He had no plans on divorcing Lu Xinyi anyway.

n“She’s my wife. Watch your words, Xue!” Shen Yi chastised his younger brother.

nLu Xinyi blushed on her husband’s words. She was glad that he wasn’t denying their relationship to his own family. Shen Xue felt that his elder brother was playing tricks to get even at him. That was impossible!

nShen Yi had a wife? A wife?!

n“But, but I thought you said you aren’t interested to date anyone?” Shen Xue blurted out. “Didn’t you say that no one can force you to see and date any woman? Do you honestly want me to believe that you met her, dated her and married her secretly? You can’t fool me, brother.”

nHe turned his attention to the young woman beside his brother.

n“Miss Lu, who exactly are you to my brother?” he bluntly asked.

nLu Xinyi chuckled. Was it really impossible for her husband to convince his younger brother that she was really his wife? Was his reputation really that bad that even his own brother questioned his sexual orientation?

n“Believe it or not, Shen Xue. I’m really your brother’s wife. You can check our marriage certificates later if you still doubt our words. Now, if you will excuse me I’m not done with my breakfast. Why don’t you join us for breakfast instead?”

nAs soon as Lu Xinyi mentioned the word breakfast, Shen Xue’s stomach growled in hunger. He left their family mansion without having anything to eat or fill his stomach. His eyes lit up, clearly, his impression about his new sister-in-law changed in an instant. Shen Yi rubbed his temple, knowing another headache was imminent.

nShen Xue was a glutton like his wife and will eat anything that he will deem edible regardless of who owns the food. Making their way back to the dining area, Lu Xinyi moved and sat beside her husband after preparing another set of plate for Shen Xue.

nShen Xue’s eyes widened at the sight of the stir-fried noodles that was served to him. It smelled heavenly as if it was teasing his nose. The vegetables weren’t overcooked in spite of the fact that they were cut into smaller pieces. The noodles weren’t soggy and didn’t stick to each other.

nPicking up his chopsticks, he grinned to Lu Xinyi before digging into his fried noodles. The taste that hit his taste buds were surprisingly good. It wasn’t too salty and not too sweet, just the right amount. He could also taste a hint of spiciness from it coming from the chilis.

nSaucy noodles, crisp hot vegetables, and tender bites of chicken were tossed together in this amazing stir-fried noodles. Shen Xue couldn’t believe that he will be able to see the glimpse of heaven by eating this simple dish.

n‘I shall treat Big Sis better from now on. I can’t let this chance to get some delicious meals.’ Shen Xue thought. Ah, so this was the reason why his brother said he couldn’t buy those tiramisu and panna cotta anywhere. The bastard got a lovely wife that could cook good food.

nHow could simple stir-fried noodles be so delicious that he couldn’t stop himself to eat until his plate had no more noodles on it? He eyed the pancakes served in front of him and his brother. As soon as Shen Yi’s attention drifted to the pancakes, Shen Yi took away the plate and glared to his younger brother.

n“This is mine.” he hissed.

nShen Xue’s chopsticks stopped mid-air and stared at his brother like he was some kind of puppy fighting for his food.

n“Big Sis, look! My brother won’t share the pancakes.”

n“Darling, you can’t possibly eat all of it. Why don’t you give some to your brother?” Lu Xinyi winked to her husband.

nShen Yi hesitated. He really didn’t like to share it with anyone especially to his glutton of a brother. He reluctantly passed the plate to Shen Xue and watched how his brother took some of his precious pancakes.

n“What are you doing here?” Shen Yi asked the most obvious question. His eyes caught three luggage behind his brother. “You’re running away again from dad?”

n“How do you know?” Shen Xue’s mouth was filled with food that he could barely talk properly.

nShen Yi knew it. His brother wouldn’t dare to break in his house if Shen Xue didn’t do something to his father again. What could be the problem this time?

nShen Xue finished his meal, took a gulped from his drink and patted his full tummy. He was so satisfied with his breakfast today, he couldn’t wait to see what’s for lunch.

n“I’m staying here for the meantime. Is it alright with you, Big Sis?” Shen Xue asked Lu Xinyi.

n“What?”

nAt that point, Shen Yi screamed to himself internally.

n
