nGood thing, Shen Yi was able to dodge on time or else her shoe will surely hit him hard on the face.

n“Hey! That was dangerous!”

n“Call me that again, I will not miss it the next time.” Lu Xinyi hissed.

nShen Yi ran both of his hands in his face. That was close. He didn’t know that Miss Pancakes could be so feisty.

n“Okay. I get it. I will not call you with that name again.” Shen Yi promised but he knew that the nickname will be stuck at her and couldn’t be forgotten. He then took the shoe from the floor to give it back to her.

n“So why did you bring me here? And could you please explain to me why do you keep claiming that I am your girlfriend?” she asked when Shen Yi handed back to her the shoe.

n“This may sound ridiculous but I need your help.” Shen Yi looked away while Lu Xinyi waited patiently for him to continue but he didn’t.-.

n“Cut the crap and say it. I can’t wait for you forever.”

n“I haven’t met enough women in my life for my future wife but you are at least the most honest and I can say I can tolerate your behavior.”

n“Oi! What do you mean by that?!”

n“I want you to be my wife.”

nAt those words, Lu Xinyi found a lump on her throat. She couldn’t speak a single word to reply.

nWait. What?

nDid he just say he wants her as his wife? But why?

nShen Yi’s blunt approach astonished her. She had met several men before but no one was shameless and blunt like this man. Most of them just couldn’t wait to take her on a date or probably on their bed. However this man, he barely knows her but he just popped up the question like it wasn’t a big deal.

nHe was straightforward and from the look on his face, Lu Xinyi can tell that he was serious. She frowned. While she knew that after this cruise vacation, she’ll come back on her messy life, did she really want to use him as a scapegoat to her problems?

nShe will be homeless and most probably she will have to leave her job because it will be impossible for her to stay on the same workplace with Meng Jiao. his proposal will surely solve most of the problems but what would be the catch?

nHe said he wanted her as his wife. Would that mean she had to perform her wifely duties on him? Her face paled. No, she wasn’t really ready for that.

nLu Xinyi’s silence bothered Shen Yi. He knew this might be too much for this woman.

n“This is crazy.” she finally said.

n“I know.” he paused “As long as you like me and could accept me, I can be your faithful husband. Even though our marriage only in paper, I will be faithful only to you.”

n“But why?”

nShen Yi gave her a questioning look.

n“Why do you want to marry me? Why can’t you marry that woman who keeps on stalking us?”

nShen Yi groaned. It was all his family’s fault but then again he was the one who keeps on refusing women so the rumors about him being gay started to circulate and might ruin his reputation.

n“Let’s just say that this will be a convenient affair between the two of us. You’ll scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours.”

n“You don’t care about my background?” She refused to believe he will marry a random woman he just met.

n“I always follow my instincts and I never been wrong when I follow it.”

nLu Xinyi blinked. She never received any proposals before. This man wasn’t really that bad. If you look at him closely, he’s very handsome. He has perfect features for a man although his expression was very hard to read at times. He doesn’t smile that much but she found it very charming.

n“So… this will be a fake marriage between us?” she asked.

nShen Yi shook his head.

n“No. Our marriage will be true in every sense except for our bedroom activities.”

nNow that he mentioned it, a thought crossed in his mind.

n“But I don’t mind if you jump on me. I will welcome all harassment from you.” Shen Yi said with a grin. He really liked it when she pouted. Her cheeks burn in rage like she wanted to smack the smile on his face at any moment.

n“You pervert!” Lu Xinyi was tempted to throw another shoe on him but decided not to. “Is this how you want to propose to your future wife?”

n“But you haven’t said yes.”

nNow, that’s true. She hasn’t really agreed to his proposal but…

n“We shall set some rules if we’re going to get married.”
