nOther than the three Dragon Blood Warriors, Gurt, Shauna and Kanu, there were also twenty ordinary warriors from the Silius family that had moved to Jaboli along with Elder Steve. After consuming and bathing in the blood of the Twin-legged Flying Dragons, they fortunately managed to break through their bottlenecks and become powerful Flying Dragon Knights, as well as Dragon Blood Warriors with limitless potential.
nThree Dark Dragon Knights and twenty Flying Dragon Knights. That was enough to form a team of elite aerial troops! If the Horned Eagle Knights were included, the aerial might of the Magical Beast Territory was now a force to be reckoned with.
nThe old Elder Steve was extremely excited when he saw the hope of the tribe’s revival. He sent men to contact his tribesmen who were wandering at various corners of the Tailun Continent while walking about holding a cane, hoping to play a part in Yang Ling’s plan to build a city.
nJaboli Town was not large, its population around twenty thousand people. In order to quickly stabilize the situation, Yang Ling decided to first build an inner city that could hold fifty thousand people. He was going to find an opportunity to build an outer city that could hold a hundred thousand more people after the situation was completely under his control.
nAs it was close to the resource rich Amazon Forest, the conditions in Jaboli were unique, just like Wissen Town. However, it was much closer to a harbor, as well as to the human populated cities like Bavaria. As long as he planned it well, the speed of development here would not be slower than that of the development on the mainland of the Magical Beast Territory.
nWith Margaret’s team of pirates taking the frontline, Ashnamov’s forces could be brought back and split into three smaller groups.
nOne of the groups would continue their journey to the northwest to draw up the naval charts from Jaboli to the human populated cities such as Bavaria; Another group would patrol the seas around Jaboli as a precaution to any surprise attacks from the pirates; The last group will set up defenses on Jaboli Town itself, in case any Magical Beasts suddenly charged out of the Amazon Forest in a frenzy.
nIn order to hasten the speed at which the city was built, Yang Ling personally set up a Magical Teleportation Formation in Jaboli Town, mobilizing a large amount of manpower and resources over from the Magical Beast Territory. Sofia was responsible for scouting the Amazon Forest, Ashnamov in charge of defense and Anna with the internal affairs. The general affairs revolving around the building of the city was handed over to the Dogman Strategist Tanzimat.
nWith such a substantial amount of manpower and resources, Yang Ling estimated that it would only take two months to build an inner city of a decent scale. They could also draw water from the Potomac River nearby to create a moat. When that time comes, with the high walls and moat, the defense team would have enough to deal with the manic Magical Beasts charging out of the forest even after he and his Magical Beast Army had left.
nHearing that Yang Ling was building a city in Jaboli, several troops, hunters and merchants followed him over. The rich spent a little crystal coins and directly teleported to Jaboli to take advantage of the opportunities, while those who did not bear to part with their money took merchant ships, heading toward Jaboli from the faraway Sallero Harbor. In fact, some of the braver ones even built their own wooden boats, floating over to Jaboli, carried by the wind.
nAs more and more merchants, hunters and troops arrived, Jaboli Town became more and more bustling. Even though Anna and Ashnamov had long been prepared for this, the situation became increasingly chaotic.
n“Sir, there are too many troops and hunters swarming into town, do you think we can build a Troop Association and Hunter Association here just like what we did in Wissen Town?” After spending much of his time resolving various conflicts, Ashnamov became incredibly frustrated, giving Yang Ling his suggestion.
nHearing that they were going to mobilize the manpower and resources currently in his hands, the Dogman Strategist Tanzimat who was responsible for building the city jumped out immediately, “We can’t, we are currently very tight on time, where are we going to find the extra manpower to build the Troop Association and Hunter Association?”
n“Yuna, what do you think?” Looking at the anxious Dogman Strategist, Yang Ling smiled and asked Yuna who was sitting by his side, secretly pinching on her perky butt.
n“Actually, it is very easy to solve this problem!” After secretly pushing away Yang Ling’s paw, Yuna rolled her eyes, “The troops and hunters should be even more nervous than us without an association to collect and hand over their missions. As long as we let the news out, I believe that they would supply the manpower and money needed to build the association even without us having to do anything. After all, it’s alright for the association to be a little shabby at the beginning, as long as it can restrain the many troops and hunters!”
nHer flowing long hair, her calm and composed smile… The shy fox beauty of the past had now become natural and unrestrained. After dealing with the issues in the territory along with Goode, she had turned from a simple Spellcaster to an exceptional aide. Her wide robes could not hide her petite figure, instead made her even more alluring.
nSelf-reliance?
nLooking at Yuna who was becoming increasingly mature and alluring, Yang Ling nodded his head. Building a branch of the Hunter Association here was not a complicated matter. It was doable as long as he had an empty plot of land and a few tents. All he had to do then was to bring over a few people who were familiar with the workflow from the headquarters.
nAt the very most, he could spend a few crystal coins and supply the hunters with lunch and dinner, then get them to personally build a small house that would act as an office. He could then demolish the building and rebuild one when the time is right.
nAs for the Troop Association, he could naturally hand this task over to Elder Berger, who was an elder of the Troop Association. The Troop Association had a long history and was immensely rich. Yang Ling might even be able to seize the opportunity to extort them. Selling plots of land would also bring him a substantial income!
nAfter deciding on the general direction and handing the specifics over to Anna, Ashnamov, Tanzimat and the rest, Yang Ling left quickly. He sat down cross-legged on a cliff near the sea and seized the time to train.
nHe had explored the Amazon Forest a little over these few days and realized that the Magical Beasts here were indeed naturally ferocious. In another area, low-level Magical Beasts would usually leave quickly if they encountered a high-level Magical Beast, but it was different in the Amazon Forest.
nIn order to capture a small rabbit to soothe its hunter, a level five Wind Wolf would challenge a level six Violent Earth Bear; In order to get a sip of spring water, a level three Short-legged Horse would dare fight a level five Goldback Viper. The battles were often bloody, manic and usually fights to the death!
nHaving roamed around the forest for three days, Yang Ling had not seen a Magical Beast that would back down from a challenge. Two mortal enemies crossing paths usually led to one party obtaining a landslide victory, or both sides suffering from immense defeat!
nFurthermore, within the Amazon Forest, he felt that his mental energy had become extremely suppressed. Just like the phenomenon back in the Black Forest, his sensory abilities had become incredibly limited. However, other than sensing an obscure ripple of energy, he could not find the reason for that phenomenon.
nHe did not know what was influencing the sensory radius of his mental energy, nor did he know the reason as to why the Magical Beasts in the forest were this bloodthirsty and manic!
nIt was harder to defend against an attack from the shadows. An enemy that he could not see was the most terrifying!
nAfter gaining a preliminary understanding of the situation in the Amazon Forest, Yang Ling had no choice but to seize the time to train, hoping that he would reach high-level Divine Wizard as soon as possible. When that time comes, he would be more confident when it came to taking the risk and exploring the mysterious forest!
nOne day, two days…
nThis cliff was about ten miles away from Jaboli Town, its location desolate. There were not many people around on an average day, but in order to guarantee that Yang Ling was uninterrupted in his training, Ashnamov had sent men to stand guard around the area, forbidding any one to enter. Thus, Yang Ling had not felt that time was passing quickly while he was training!
n“Ah… Save me!”
nSome time later, just as he was absorbing a large amount of energy, prepared to create twenty Chilly Ice Arrows at once, a cry for help from far away could suddenly be heard. There were cries of males and females, old and young. Amongst those, the voice of a woman carried a sense of familiarity.
nAnna, Alice, or…?
nIn his confusion, Yang Ling opened his eyes to observe closely. Even though there was a heavy fog around him, he could still faintly make out a tilted ship a dozen nautical miles away. It seems like it had accidentally been hit by a hidden rock.
nThe people on the ship were incredibly anxious. Some were hugging the mast, motionless in fear, some anxiously releasing the lifeboats, while others jumped directly into the sea, trying their best to swim toward shore. Following the familiar voice, Yang Ling saw a white-robed lady bobbing up and down from the surface of the sea. She was trapped in a vortex, unable to swim out no matter how hard she tried.
nCould that be Harribell?
nSeeing the familiar figure, Yang Ling immediately thought of the capable Harribell. With a thought, he immediately teleported out using the Wind Evasion Technique. He instantly appeared beside the white-robed lady, raising his hand and summoning a deep sea giant python.
n“Harribell, you… What are you doing here?” Standing on the python, Yang Ling realized that his guess was correct after saving the white-robed young lady.
n“Yang Ling, I…” Having escaped death, Harribell hugged Yang Ling tightly. Her face was pale, her body trembling as she struggled to collect herself.
nAfter setting some affairs in Bavaria and hearing that Yang Ling was going to build a city at Jaboli, she had come quickly by ship. She had wanted to happily meet up with Yang Ling, but did not expect to encounter such a thick fog when the merchant ship was about to approach the shore, and thus accidentally crashed into the rocks and capsized. Even worse, she had effortfully got onto a small boat to escape, only to encounter a terrifying current, nearly sinking her.
nYang Ling, this area is full of hidden rocks and currents, what do we do?
nAfter fortunately escaping danger, leaning into Yang Ling’s embrace, seeing the small boats that would be hit by an unexpected current from time to time, seeing the fearful merchants following her on her journey, Harribell knit her brows tightly. This fog was too thick, and their group had accidentally drifted into an area at sea with many hidden rocks and unexpected currents.
n“It’s alright, not to worry, get them to follow these bats.” Looking at the indefensible hidden rocks and currents under the sea, Yang Ling quickly summoned a team of bats, instructing them to observe the situation under the sea and guide the smaller boats along.
nOther than their incredible speed, the Vampire Bats could also use echolocation to determine the size of the obstacles and how far away they were. They could even determine how well the interior of a weapon was.
nBecause of his massive mental energy and sensory abilities, Yang Ling had never had to rely on such an ability of the bats. To think that they would prove useful here.
