nWhirr…

nThe Beast Soul Altar turned rapidly, letting out strange screeches from time to time. It was as if someone was letting out loud, pathetic cries, but upon listening closely, it also sounded as though a Magical Beast was screeching. Black fog filled the air, and no one knew just what was happening inside.

n“Sir, that… Just who is the person who barged into the Beast Soul Altar?” Seeing that Yang Ling was staring nervously at the Beast Soul Altar, as if extremely concerned, Augustus was overcome with unease.

nOriginally, there should be a team of Magical Beasts defending the area around the altar, and even a mosquito would find it hard to barge into the area, much less a living person. However, after having faced successive failures, he had vented his frustrations on the Magical Beasts playing near the area of the Beast Soul Altar and chased them away. To think that he had just chased the Magical Beasts defending the altar away when a situation like this happened.

nHow terrible would it be if the person who had barged into the altar was related to Yang Ling in any way?

nAugustus became more uneasy the more he thought about it, his body covered in sweat. The Beast Soul Altar could merge several Magical Beasts to form a mutated Magical Beast, but it would be extremely difficult if he wanted to revert them to their original forms. It would be extremely terrible he had accidentally turned Yang Ling’s relative or friend into a mutated Magical Beast!

n“Augustus, is… Is there a way to turn a person back to his original form after you accidentally turned them into a mutated Magical Beast?” Yang Ling knit his brows, scaring the already uneasy Augustus, nearly causing his heart to leap out of his mouth.

n“Sir, I… I didn’t mean for it to happen. Sir, this…” Augustus turned pale, unable to form words.

n“Augustus, you committed a huge blunder!” Seeing that Augustus was covered in sweat due to his worry, Yang Ling quickly understood his concerns. He put on a pained expression and deliberated for a moment, slowly saying, “The person just now is the Pope of the Church. I had a tough time inviting him into the Wizard Pagoda’s Space, but, you…”

nThe Pope?

nThe high and mighty Pope who lorded over the entire Church?

nAugustus was completely dumbfounded, his legs shivering. Even though he knew that Yang Ling was friends with a large number of great nobles, rich businessmen, and powerful fighters, but he would never have thought that the person who had barged into the Beast Soul Altar just now was the high and mighty Pope!

nHow bad was it to have turned the Pope into a mutated Magical Beast?

nAugustus nearly went limp, not knowing how to deal with the situation. It would be his fault if this caused a war between the Church and the Magical Beast Territory!

n“Augustus, don’t worry, there won’t be a problem even if you turned the Core Deity of Light into a mutated Magical Beast, much less a mere Pope!” Yang Ling smiled, patting on Augustus’s shoulders, “Tell me, is there any way to revert him to his original form after turning him into a mutated Magical Beast?”

n“Sir, it’s not that there’s no way, but… But it’s extremely difficult!” Seeing that Yang Ling did not blame him, Augustus heaved a sigh of relief, wiping the sweat from his forehead before he continued, “Legend has it that the Ultimate Purification of the Goddess of Life can revert Magical Beasts that have been fused together to their original forms. There is also a chance that the Beast Soul Altar can revert them too after it gets enhanced to the premium level!”

n“Oh, then when will our Beast Soul Altar get enhanced to the premium level?” Yang Ling nodded his head, signaling for Augustus to continue his explanation.

n“Currently, we have only built the lowest level of a Beast Soul Altar. According to the historical records, we would have to spend mountains of premium crystals, a massive supply of energy and a Beastman Priest who has the abilities at that of a High-level Deity and above if we wanted to upgrade it to the premium level…” Augustus spoke as he shook his head.

nIt was already extremely difficult to set up a low-level Beast Soul Altar. Upgrading it to a fabled premium Beast Soul Altar seemed near impossible!

nHiss…

nJust as Yang Ling was prepared to understand the situation further, the Beast Soul Altar suddenly slowed down, letting out a weird hiss. The thick black fog quickly scattered, and soon, a giant spider staggered out of the altar.

nIt had a strong stride, red hair and brown stripes on its abdomen, and rings of gray and white on its legs. On the surface, it looked like a giant Spider Demon, but it also had a thick snake’s tail, intertwined with black and white rings. Its red tongue flickered at high speeds, split at the center like that of a python, making it look like a strange python. The ripples of energy coming from within its body were weak, much weaker than that of an average spider or giant python.

nIts body was extremely ugly, but its head was even more disgusting. It fact, it instilled fear into everyone that looked at it!

nIts giant head was covered in tightly-knit green scales. It had a protruding chin, making its head triangular, like that of a python. It looked like the head of a giant python, but it had the facial features of a human, faintly resembling that of the Pope. However, its eyes, nose, and mouth were nearly double the size of that of an average human. The human’s head, spider’s body, and a snake’s tail made it look exceptionally terrifying.

nHuman-headed monster?

nA failure formed by the Beast Soul Altar, a human-headed monster that’s weaker than an ordinary spider?

nLooking at the long spear protruding out of the monster’s chest, Yang Ling quickly ascertained its identity. It was clear that the Pope had fused together with the many spiders and pythons after unintentionally barging into the Beast Soul Altar, turning him into a disgusting monster! What scared Yang Ling, even more, was that the monster had a row of swollen teats dangling from its abdomen!

nA monster that was even more disgusting and ugly than a Red-haired Tarantula and python, furthermore, it’s a female!

nThere were centaurs in the past, and now there was a human-headed monster. Does this count as creating a new species?

nYang Ling, who was looking at the Pope who had turned into a human-headed monster, shook his head in disbelief. Who could have thought that the once high and mighty Pope who lorded over millions would be reduced to such a state?

nHiss…

nThe monster took a few steps forward and opened its mouth as if it wanted to say something. However, the sound it made turned into the hiss of a python, no one understanding what it was trying to say. However, those red eyes and vengeful gaze gave Yang Ling a familiar feeling!

nOnly the insane Pope would have such a poisonous gaze!

n“Respectable Pope, to think that we would meet each other again this soon!” Yang Ling paused and looked at the monster baring its fangs. He continued after ascertaining that the monster could understand what he was saying, “In my hometown, people often say that if we cannot change into a woman, the best we can do is to change our clothes. However, I did not expect you to be that powerful to be able to change your entire body! Could it be that you are trying to change into the body of a spider and python to experience your new life?”

n“Hiss… De… Devil, I want to kill…”

nThe eyes of the Pope who had turned into a monster turned red, its red tongue flickering at high speeds. It had difficulty enunciating its words as if it could not adapt to its new body as of yet. It roared as it charged forward without care, baring its fangs as it screeched. It seemed as though it wanted desperately to tear Yang Ling to shreds.

n“Sir, just… Just what is this monster!” Augustus turned pale with shock as he looked at the creature charge forward, involuntarily taking a step back. Unexpectedly, he accidentally stepped on a trigger and released all of the wild spiders he had in a cage.

nA startling scene ensued!

nNot only did the wild spiders not rapidly crawl off in all directions, but they instead swarmed toward the Pope-turned monster, fighting each other as they did. It looked as though these energetic spiders were male bulls in heat that had just encountered a female cow.

n“Sir, I… I did not mean for that to happen!” Augustus swallowed with difficulty as he looked at the startling scene.

n“Augustus, look over this monster, don’t let it escape!” Seeing that the monster had no place to run off to after being trapped by the many spiders, Yang Ling shook his head and teleported out after forming a Wizard Seal.

nOriginally, he had only wanted to imprison the Pope within the Wizard Pagoda’s Space. To think that things would develop this way. He should let Raymond and the rest worry about the troublesome problem of what to do next.

n“Yang Ling, where’s the Pope, where did you imprison him?” After seeing Yang Ling’s figure, the Great Commander of the Dark Cavalries Barbosa stepped forward. Originally, he had wanted to continue tormenting the detestable Pope and break every bone in his body, giving him a taste of hell on earth. He did not expect the Pope to be whisked off somewhere by Yang Ling in the blink of an eye, making him immensely disappointed.

n“There has been a little accident!” Yang Ling heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that Raymond, the three head honchos of the Dark Association, and the rest of the group were still present, “Sirs, regrettably, there has been a little accident!”

n“Yang Ling, could it be that you just killed the Pope?” The Chief Elven Priest had a grave expression, worried that Yang Ling, being young and impulsive, might have killed the manic Pope after being unable to control his fit of emotion. It would be troublesome if they attracted the main Angel Army from the City Amongst the Clouds.

n“Things might be more troublesome than if I had killed the Pope, I can’t explain it succinctly, have a look for yourselves!” Seeing the grave expression of the group, Yang Ling naturally knew what they were worried about. After shaking his head bitterly, he directly summoned the Pope-turned monster and the many spiders clinging onto his body out from the Wizard Pagoda’s Space.

n“Oh, my God, what is that monster?” The Chief Elven Priest opened her mouth wide, instinctively taking a few steps back, hiding behind the God of Swords.

n“The Pope?” Seeing the long spear on the chest of the monster, sensing the familiar ripples of energy from within the body of the monster, the Golden Lion opened his eyes wide in disbelief, “Impossible, how could he have turned into this, my God, just what is going on?”

n…

nThe group was dumbfounded when they saw the monster that looked neither like a spider nor a giant python, unable to believe that that was the once immensely arrogant Pope. However, that faintly familiar facial features, unique long spear, and evil gaze gave them no choice but to accept this alarming truth.

n
