Chapter 1363 - Assassin Monarch Seeking Survival
“Sanguine Alliance?”
Hearing the black armour clad Knight, Southern Heaven Mighty God shouted back at the top of his voice, “F*ck, where is Sanguine Warflag? Ask that b*stard to come out!”
“…”
As Southern Heaven Mighty God continued hurling vulgarities, the surrounding players’ faces darkened. Their gazes in their eyes were flitting nonstop and they did not know where to look.
“Ahem…” The black amour clad Knight awkwardly let out a cough, “What are you finding him for?”
“My business with that b*stard is none of your concern!” Southern Heaven Mighty God continued raging.
The black-clad Knight simply replied, “I am that b*stard!”
“Haha!” Wang Yu and the others could not contain their laughter as they heard Sanguine Warflag’s reply.
“F*ck!” Southern Heaven Mighty God jumped up and scoffed, “You are f*cking shameless. How dare you spend my money and even betray me!”
“What choice did I have!” Sanguine Warflag looked at him with a face of resignation, “I didn’t even want to accept the job but you’re instead keen on sending me to my death. I could only leave you to die…”
“You!!” Seeing that the person who sold him out was just in front of his eyes, Southern Heaven Mighty God wanted to continue venting his anger but he was stopped by Scarless.
Scarless’ gaze locked onto Sanguine Warflag as she said, “Sanguine Warflag senior, you have taken our money and yet have colluded with an enemy against us. This is not very morally upright of you!”
“I am extremely sorry!” Sanguine Warflag countered, “In my defence, I didn’t take any of your money!”
He looked towards Fearless who was in mid-air.
“Haha!” Fearless chuckled at the state of matters. “Scarless, this is just a matter of tactics in battle. The Quan Zhen Sect and Assassin Monarch each have their own ways of dealing with things. You stole my staff yesterday and I have taken your money in return today. We are now back to square one. You can treat the money as payment for the staff.”
“Bullsh*t!”
Scarless howled in anger, “Why would I, an Assassin, require your broken staff?”
“How would I know the answer? You guys insisted on stealing my staff!” Fearless pouted. He narrowed his eyes at her before continuing, “Would you consider returning me my staff?”
Fearless’ staff was merely Obsidian grade which was worth less than ten thousand in the market. Scarless was not foolish enough to pay fifteen thousand for a staff that she had no use for.
“Tsk!”
Hearing that Fearless wanted to buy back his staff, Scarless fished out the staff and threw it over to Fearless.
Once Fearless received the equipment, he immediately equipped the item.
“What about the money?”
Scarless could not stop herself from asking when she saw that Fearless had no intention of paying.
“Ah?” Fearless stared at her blankly, “Did I say I was returning the money to you?”
“You!” “I…”
Scarless was almost at her limits in the face of Fearless’s shameless behavior. She pointed at Fearless, “How are you so brazen?”
“I have never said otherwise!” Fearless smiled and replied, “I have already mentioned just now. There can never be too much deception in war. Since you did not listen to my advice, you have now already become my enemy! How about this, as long as you hand over the seal for Saga City, I will return you this 150,000 gold coins!”
“F*ck your mother!”
Scarless spat harsh words against Fearless and did not want to speak to him another moment more. She stared coldly at Sanguine Warflag, “Sanguine Warflag senior, are you agreeable with this arrangement?”
“Hehe!” Sanguine Warflag answered her with a faint smile, “We have maintained a cordial and healthy relationship with the Quan Zhen Sect. Any matters concerning them is equivalent to concerning my Sanguine Alliance!”
“Good, very good!” Scarless nodded her head, “Sanguine Warflag Senior, there is still a long path ahead. I hope you watch your back!”
Scarless turned over to the rest of Assassin Monarch and commanded, “Let’s go!”
In this instant, there was a sharp blade that slit across her neck. She dissipated into white light along with her other comrades. All the players from Assassin Monarch committed suicide.
“F*ck!”
The players from Sanguine Alliance watched with a sense of shock as the scene unfolded. Even Wang Yu and the rest of the Quan Zhen Sect furrowed their brows.
The Assassin Monarch was scarily similar to the Quan Zhen Sect in their ruthlessness. It was especially so for Sanguine Warflag. He felt an intense chill down his spine the moment Scarless killed herself.
“Quick, everyone to the resurrection point!”
Seeing that the players from Assassin Monarch all committed suicide, Fearless took command of the players.
Sanguine Warflag assuage his concerns, “Don’t panic, we have set a few ambushes at the thieves resurrection point!”
“Ambush?” Fearless interjected, “Don’t spout nonsense! When has your Sanguine Alliance managed to form a successful blockade of the thieves resurrection point?”
“This…”
Sanguine Warflag was embarrassed.
It was the truth after all. Assassins were the most popular class because of their Stealth ability. This class had the unique ability to get out of sticky situations effectively.
As long as the ability was in effect, an Assassin could hide all traces of their whereabouts. It was not difficult for an Assassin to outmatch any of the other classes in escaping.
It was way more difficult to catch an Assassin that had the intention to escape. This was the main reason that the players of Assassin Monarch could be so arrogant.
Even if they could not win a fight, they surely could run. If they could not run, dying another time was also another way out. Even the richest guilds could not afford to run 24 hours surveillance on the resurrection points.
Sure enough, once Fearless commands were issued, Sanguine Warflag immediately notified his men that were in ambush. The report came back in a moment, “We did not see any players from Assassin Monarch!”
It was obvious that these Assassins from Assassin Monarch executed Stealth the moment they resurrected…
Assassin Monarch was an opponent at the level of Quan Zhen Sect. The common players from Sanguine Alliance were solely inadequate for dealing with such an unorthodox playstyle.
After receiving news of Assassin Monarch’s escape, Fearless emotional state mirrored that of Wang Yu. They were filled with regrets.
As the saying went, they only have themselves to blame for not countering the main advantage their opponents had.
It was a trivial matter to let Assassin Monarch go but it was the aftermath that was a matter of concern. After this development of affairs, these group of Assassins would definitely go into hiding. Could Twilight City afford not to open its gates indefinitely?
Most critically, it was virtually guaranteed that Assassin Monarch would not be silent… They have already etched their enmity against Sanguine Warflag. It was highly likely that they will take revenge for their loss today.
Assassin Monarch was similar to Quan Zhen Sect in many ways. Since the players from Quan Zhen Sect could easily defeat the common players from Sanguine Alliance, it was not a stretch for Assassin Monarch to do the same.
Fearless descended from the air as he grappled with his thoughts. He walked towards Sanguine Warflag and patted his shoulder meaningfully, “Brother Warflag… I think it is the best option if you let your people hide for this period!”
