nâSo your INT must be high, huh? No wonder you refuse to tell us. Is it because of a grinding spot?â Robert started trying to sew discord between Ren and others.
nHe wanted to redirect the girlsâ attention to how Ren could possibly have a very high magic damage this early in the game.
nâThatâs right. How did you do it? I mean, I couldnât even land one hundred damage to that thing, and my INT is the highest amongst us,â Lucia said, eyes squinting at Ren. Could it really be a grinding spot? If so, she wanted to know.
nRen looked at Luciaâs face. She had crooked teeth and sharp canines, which added to her cuteness. She was the most willful amongst the women in Silviaâs group.
nâYou donât need to concern yourself with my ATP,â Ren said matter of factly at Robert. âLike you who refused to educate everyone even with your experience as a veteran player, as I quote, isnât part of your job . . . discussing my ATP is also isnât part of my job.
nâIâm here for two things only, the firstblood and my equipment. Nothing else,â said Ren with an unwavering voice.
nLucia stepped back when she realized she couldnât use her charms against Ren. She pouted and harrumphed to the side. âSo stingy.â
nThe corners of Robertâs lips twitched before he directed his focus on the chest on which Vida and Jack already took part in checking.
nâIâll open it.â Robert immediately went to the chest, which didnât sit well with the ladies.
nRobert and his friends didnât even participate in the fight, and yet he acted like he was the one who killed the Lava Hound.
nHow shameless could you be?
nThe womenâs favorable impression of Robert and his companions before was utterly destroyed.
nSilvia cursed Sumeri in her head as to why she recommended this kind of person to her.
nWas she sabotaging her guild because she couldnât play the game? Silvia jokingly thought to herself.
nAfter she was done in this dungeon, she and her had to have a heart-to-heart talk.
nâShouldnât we go there, mister?â Nikolai asked Ren when the latter didnât join the others in circling the only chest on the altar.
nâNo. Weâll get a notification of the items even if weâre not there.â
nâIs that so?â Nikolai rubbed his hands together. âI wonder whatâs in there.â
nHe then addressed Ruru, who was standing not far from Ren, secretly admiring Pii on Renâs neck.
nâWhat do you think, Ruru?â
nRuru was still mesmerized by Pii, and she answered in a daze, âA pet would be nice. Even just an egg.â
nACQUIRED!
nⶠHealth Potions x5
nâ· White Staff x1
nâž Iron Helm x1
nâč Aqua Douse x5
nâWow, look at this. Thereâs actually a helmet in the chest and a staff.â Jackâs eyes shone. âWeâre so lucky.â
nRosie frowned while Rafaela rolled her eyes.
nâAnd who is it that said that we wouldnât find anything here?â muttered Alicia.
nEveryone was showing their discontent, and it was further fuelled when Robert announced.
nâThe White Staff will go to Vida, and it goes without saying that the Iron Helmet belongs to me.â
nâHuh? What the ** do you mean, belong to you?! You didnât even help kill that Lava Hound!â Lucia couldnât help but burst out.
nRosie stopped her, took a step forward, and said with a calm tone but foreboding pair of seductive red eyes. âPlease enlighten us. Why would this treasures belong to you when it was us who did all the work?â
nRobert merely smiled. âOh, have you forgotten our deal already? You guys said that you donât care about the loot as long as you get firstblood. And that I got to take first pick and fifty percent of the rewards. Or did you suddenly have a change of mind?â
nâ. . .â
nThe women were indignant. They wouldnât have said anything if only Robert and his friends had helped them with the Lava Hound.
nSilvia took a step forward. âRobert, we didnât even get firstblood yet. We should divide the loot after weâre done here.â
nVida shook her head and said with a condescending voice. âWe should equip these items now than waste them. It would add to our chance of defeating Vulcan.â
nLucia cut in with a snarling tone showing her canines. âIf weâre going to equip it, then that staff should belong to one of us.â
nâEasy there, or you might pop a vessel,â joked Jack. âWeâre the Main unit remember? Itâs only natural that the priority is us.â
nâThen at least give that staff to Pamela,â argued Rafaela with her soft tone and angelic face.
nThe girls nodded while Pamela shrunk at the mention of her name. She hated being in the spotlight, but she was also against Robert claiming the loot for themselves.
nRobert sighed and faced Silvia. âIf youâre going to be like this, forgetting about our deal, then we might as well part ways here.â
n. . .
n. . .
nAlicia crossed her hands and smirked. âGo ahead. Youâll do us a favor. I donât even know why we hired you in the first place when youâre not even going to help and had the gal to steal our loot.â
nHere we go, Ren thought. All things were good and all, and all promises were made at the beginning, but in the face of a treasure, all of those disappeared.
nIt was exactly like this in the past, and nothing changed.
nIt was just a White Staff and Iron Helmet which could be bought in towns later. Nothing to be fussing over.
nâSilvia, letâs just kick them out and be done with it,â said Lucia. Rosie and Alicia seconded in agreement.
nSilvia had a headache. She took a glance in Renâs direction and cursed under her breath when the latter didnât even help her defuse the situation. It was his idea to find a tank in the first place.
nThough Robert and his friends werenât ideally the best companions, they still needed a Tank. Silvia was made aware of it with their current fight with the Lava Hound.
nWithout a Tank, their mages would be annihilated. Nikolai could only do so much before his Taunt ran out. And his DEF and skills werenât exactly Tank material either. All her crew had weak DEF, and they needed someone to absorb the damage.
nAs infuriating as it was, they still needed Robert. Without him, they wouldnât last in this cave. Even if Ren had high magic damage, he depended on his MP, casting time, and cooldown.
nWithout a Tank, Pamela and the other Mages were at risk of being annihilated even before Ren could cast anything.
nThis was no time to be thinking about items. She had to think in the long run, and the important thing was to secure firstblood.
nThey could just re-enter again and get those items and loot.
nSilvia raised her hand, and the ladies stopped, closing their mouths shut.
nâExcuse us,â Silvia said to Robert before pushing Pamela and her crew to the side.
nâWe still need him,â Silvia said as soon as they huddled together away from Robertâs prying ears.
nâNeed him? Those guys are jerks!â Lucia spat.
nâShh . . . manners,â Rafaela reprimanded while Lucia rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue.
nâWhat do we even need them for?â Rosie asked and batted an eyelid at Robert and his friends. âThey didnât even help us. He claimed to be the leader, but he didnât do anything but claim our loots. Heâs a lich.â
nâDidnât you see our fight a while ago?â Silvia asked.
nâOh yeah. It was a disaster,â Alecia snickered.
nSilvia ignored her and explained, âMost of our team are mages. If they pull out now, then all of you will be targeted first.â
nâBut that guy didnât even help out. Whatâs the difference?â Rosie whined.
nâThe difference is,â Silvia took a deep breath, âWe have a Tank when facing against Vulcan. And that at least boosts our chance to get firstblood.â

nIs my English so bad?
nI donât have an editor and not a native speaker.
nI think my English is simple and understandable except for a few misspelled words since I sometimes gloss over them when I edit. but I donât think itâs so bad to the point that it couldnât be understood anymore.
nOr is it just me and Iâm speaking alien without even knowing it? đ€Łđ đ€Ł
