Chapter 1177 An Unexpected Guest
1177 An Unexpected Guest
“You’ve really made it difficult for me to find you, Valyr.” While Valyr continued to look at him with great surprise, Braum looked back at the young man with amusement, chuckling as he opened his mouth.
In response to the question, the young man remained silent for a bit, giving himself some time to regain his bearings.
“You… what…?” Yet, even after giving himself a bit of time to think about things, Valyr was still left at a slight loss for words. After all, never did he ever think he’d meet Braum before the update arrived.
Fortunately, it only took him a bit more time for everything in his mind to finally all into place.
“…Give me a second.” Taking in a deep breath as he composed himself, Valyr closed his eyes for a bit as he briefly shook his head.
Then, looking back at Braum with a calm expression, he then asked him the first question that came to mind. “I suppose you’ve come here with the information I asked for?”
“Wouldn’t have come looking for you if that weren’t the case.” Nodding as he let out a bit of laughter, Braum moved closer to where Valyr was before bringing out a thin stack of documents from his spatial bracelet.
“Just so you know, I’ve also attached the information Julian was able to gather in the document,” he told Valyr, prompting the latter to nod in response.
“Thanks.” Flashing a look of gratitude at Braum, the young man quickly skimmed through the papers before looking back at the man in front of him with a slightly raised eyebrow. “Well, aside from the documents, what else brings you here?”
While looking at the man, Valyr was getting the feeling that there was another reason to why the man decided to appear in his shop all of a sudden.
Yet, rather than tell him the truth, Braum brushed off the feeling he got with a joke, letting out a bit of laughter as he replied. “What? Can’t I personally deliver the information you’re asking for?”
Of course, that only made the young man frown.
“Jeez… it’s not that serious.” Seeing that his joke only had the opposite effect on the young man, the man let out a faint sigh before telling Valyr what he wanted to know. “Well… to sum things up, I decided to make a personal visit to make sure the two clans weren’t onto your tracks.”
“Though it would’ve been great if I were the only one to know about this, I guess you knowing about it isn’t a half-bad result either,” continued Braum with a shrug, causing Valyr to raise his eyebrow in response.
“I’ve heard that they’ve been looking for my whereabouts before eventually heading to this place, but they’re still looking for me up to this day?” Searᴄh the Novёlƒire.n(e)t website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
“Apparently so.” Braum nodded, retrieving a couple of papers from his spatial bracelet before giving them to Valyr. “Since it didn’t take much that much time to collect the information you’re asking for, these are the other reports I’ve obtained on the two clans. The information is more general, but I think it’ll pique your interest.”
Briefly glancing back at Braum with a look of curiosity, Valyr eventually placed the stack of documents to the side for the meantime before receiving the reports the man was talking about.
Making sure to not miss even a single detail, the young man’s expression gradually turned into that of a frown the more he read through the reports Braum compiled.
“Last seen outside the Algerie Kingdom…”
“Made his way to the Blacksmith Guild…”
“Has made it to the east frontlines…”
“Last update is his return to the Algerie Kingdom… waiting for further updates?”
Seeing as the reports contained all of the movements he made in the past few days before arriving at Daffors Village, Valyr slightly shuddered at the thought of the two clans only being one step behind him.
Reading through the reports a couple more times, the young man eventually looked back at Braum with a slightly hopeful expression. “I presume you have something to do with the reason why the updates stop here?”
“The Imperial Production Guild did promise not to leak your whereabouts, after all,” replied Braum with a nod, allowing Valyr to let out a wide sigh of relief in response. “Plus, it’s far simpler than you’d think to set up some false leads here and there.”
“I guess I should expect no less from the leader of one of the Imperial Production Guild’s Reconnaissance Teams,” said Valyr as he let out a chuckle, to which Braum let out a slight chuckle as well.
“What do you plan on doing with the information, exactly?” After catching his breath, the man looked at Valyr with curiosity, wondering what moves he would make with the two clans looking for him.
At those words, Valyr began to hesitate for a bit as to whether or not he should share the plan he had regarding the two clans in mind.
Though, with Braum more or less acting as his informant regarding various things, the young man eventually decided to let the man in on the situation, causing Braum to look at him with slight disbelief by the time he was finished with his explanation.
“That’s…” For a while, the man was left at a slight loss for words. “I had a feeling you’d do something like that sooner or later, but I thought you’d do it later rather than sooner.”
“It had to happen eventually.” Valyr could only wryly smile. “It was either them finding my whereabouts first, or me taking the initiative to meet them.”
“Then again, with how much strength I currently possess, I’d rather do the latter.”
Hearing those words, Braum was reminded of the feats Valyr had achieved through Scho’doxa during the first round of the tournament.
Finally recalling how the young man in front of them had the strength to kill a Myth, the man could only let out a chuckle as he inwardly shuddered at the thought of what Valyr would possibly do.
Seeing as he’d pretty much done everything he needed to do after meeting Valyr, it went without saying that Braum eventually decided to bid his farewells to him after talking for a bit more.
Though, before the man could even take a step foot out of Valyr’s shop, the latter asked him if he had information on the Caemelio clan all of a sudden, causing him to stop in his tracks for a bit as he looked at the young man in slight confusion.
Fortunately, the young man told him that he only needed information on the clan’s whereabouts and their general hierarchy, allowing him to inwardly let out a sigh of relief.
With that, he then told Valyr that he already had information on them, retrieving another thin stack of documents from his spatial bracelet before giving it to him.
Looking at the documents he received with surprise written all over his face, Valyr soon thanked the man once more, only to then head their separate ways once Braum confirmed with him that he had no need for any other piece of information.
Being left alone on his own once more, the young man went through the documents Braum gave to him in detail, spending over an hour organizing and processing all of the information he read.
“Man…” Letting out a low sigh by the time he was done, he then put all of the documents into his spatial bracelet before deciding to roam around the village, giving his mind some time to rest for a bit.
Unsurprisingly, while roaming around, a few of the villagers came up to him complaining about the noise he’d been making for the past couple of days.
At those words, Valyr could only give them an apologetic smile, telling them that he’d make sure to create less noise from now on.
Thus, by the time he returned, he reinforced the walls that made up the workshop portion of the shop, hoping that the added thickness would dampen more of the sound he created while forging.
Entering the shop once more, Valyr thought about how he could reduce the amount of sound he generated while forging, eventually deciding to concoct a few sets of potions for the remaining time he had before the update.
Feeling like he was hitting two birds with one stone yet again, the young man let out a slight chuckle as he took out the spare materials Mystia gave him back at the Mystic Plane.
Briefly pondering over what kind of potions he’d concoct in preparation for the players, Valyr soon released Mystic Energy into the air, conjuring the rune that embodied Mystic Rune Alchemy before throwing a few batches of potion materials into the air not long after.
Controlling the Mystic Energy with his thoughts, it did not take long for him to fall into a rhythm of sorts, continuously concocting potions in a way that resembled the concentration he showed whilst forging for the past couple of days.
With that, it only seemed like a few hours had passed before Valyr obtained the notification he was waiting for.
Ding!
Version 0.5d of Greater Beyond has finally ended!
…
…
…
Version 1.0 of Greater Beyond has begun!
…
“Well then…” “That’s interesting.”
At the far-flung reaches of the universe, a small voice began to echo through the depths of the void.
“To think that after over 5,000 years have passed, a similar type of energy would make an appearance in this forsaken universe.”
“I don’t know if the heavens above have anything to do this… but no matter. With a bit of effort and time, this new energy shall become our new foundation. Our new power.”
“As long as we adapt to it, it’s only a matter of time until we return.”
“A matter of time… until the Realm of Myths returns.”
And with that, Volume 2 is finally complete. Took longer than I thought to get to this point, but now that we’re here, it’s only going to get more fun.
I’m sure all of you would have a lot of questions as to what the last few lines might mean, but it’ll all make sense at some point. Perhaps, you might even already have theories as to what it might mean.
In any case, Valyr has prepared as much as he could.
It’s time for the players to appear.
