nWhoosh!

nAppearing at the center of a slightly spacious room, Valyr looked around his surroundings, swiftly noticing that the four walls of the room were made out of rough-cut stone. Affixed on the walls were a few torches, bringing a bit of illumination to the slightly dreary room.

nFocusing his attention to what was in front of him, a double door spanning a few meters tall could be found, sticking out like a sore thumb when compared to the dull surroundings due to the intricacy of the detail on the door’s surface.

n“It’s been a long time since I last delved a dungeon, so let’s see what kind of room I’m in right now…” Valyr muttered to himself sometime later, jogging his memory as he paced around the room for a bit. After a while, he stopped in his tracks, finally recalling the type of room he was currently in before letting out a peal of laughter.

n“A room specifically made for respite… how long has it been since I last encountered one of these in a dungeon?” Rummaging through his memories regarding this room, he recalled that he had only delved two dungeons with this kind of room in the middle. In fact, these rooms for respite were even a secret in the dungeon, which they had inadvertently found while trying to clear those dungeons through sheer trial and error.

n“Though I’m ready to delve the dungeon at any time, I should take this chance to double check if I forgot anything.” Saying those words, Valyr went ahead and checked through the items he carried on the bag slung around his chest, taking note of the health and mana rejuvenation potions he had in stock for emergency situations. After that, he checked if he had a sufficient amount of rations in the off chance he took longer to clear the dungeon, as well as water.

nLightly nodding after making sure all of the items he would need were in the bag, Valyr then went ahead and commanded the system to show him his full status screen to get a better idea of his capabilities while delving in the dungeon. Naturally, with equipment on, the stats currently shown to him on the screen were quite substantially different from the stats he had seen a few days ago.

nDing!

n————

nAs this was his first time seeing his full status screen, Valyr could not help but whistle out as he looked at his Attack and Defense stat, noticing first that his Attack had surpassed triple digits. In other words, Valyr was now able to dish out damage in the triple digits with a normal attack, something he could have only done during the monster tide with the aid of skills, as well as Vital and Brutal Hits.

n“For a Common grade armor set, the Supreme Astarto Defense Armor is truly deserving its name. I don’t think I’ll even take damage from the goblins at this point.” Muttering these words, Valyr could not help but let out a chuckle before letting out a slightly carefree sigh. Taking in a deep breath, his expression soon became solemn as he made his way to the door, opening it as he went ahead and proceeded to the official first room of the dungeon.

n“Woah there.” Expecting to walk for a while through a dimly lit corridor before reaching the first room, Valyr was instead greeted by the sight of a huge drop a few meters before him, prompting him to stop walking as he assessed his current surroundings.

nWithin seconds, he swiftly noticed a door at the far end of the room he had just entered, which Valyr noted as that meant that he was now in the first room of the dungeon. However, as he looked at the door, he could not help but scratch his head for a bit.

nThe reason behind this was because, unlike normal dungeon rooms, the dungeon room he was currently in was split into two different sections: the high section, which he was in at the moment, and the low section, which was where the door was located. Connecting the two sections was a ramp on both sides of the high section that circled around the room.

nAs he continued to look at the low section of the first room, his attention soon shifted towards the monsters that populated the first room, beings of short stature with rough green skin that wore crude clothes made of leather. Of course, these monsters were none other than goblins, a staple monster in any role-playing game.

nFocusing his sights on one of the goblins, Valyr went ahead and identified the monster with Analysis, obtaining its results not long after.

nDing!

n————

nGoblin (Elite) (Level 13)

nHP: 300

nStats: 26 VIT, 29 STR, 26 AGI, 19 DEX, 16 INT, 16 WIS, 16 PER, 16 LUK

nRemarks: They’re quite annoying.

n————

n“Since the goblins in the first room are Elite monsters, then that means the boss would be an Epic Elite at the very least,” Valyr muttered to himself after he was finished checking, recalling the general rules governing dungeons.

nThe weakest type of monster that one could encounter in a dungeon was an Elite monster, whose stats were 25% higher than their common counterpart. Using that as a baseline, through the collaboration of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of players, people were able to deduce that mini-bosses were usually one tier higher than the weakest monster in the dungeon, while bosses were usually three tiers higher.

n“Using the goblin’s level as a baseline, then that means I would be facing a Level 26 monster at the end of the dungeon as a boss?” As this thought popped up in his mind, Valyr now felt like he understood as to why Damian and Tristan told him that the final boss of the dungeon was an incredibly strong goblin. After all, Level 26 meant that the monster was officially considered Rank 2.

nDeciding to not head down the speculation rabbit hole for now, Valyr looked at the goblins that were in the low section before counting them. Coming to a total of 25 goblins, he then went silent for a bit before retrieving the True Tideblood Spear affixed to his back. After that…

nBang! Bang! Bang!

nChaos ensued.
