Chapter 934 - Choices
Li Yi shook his head and told Zhang Yan, “They’re allowed to roll, but not you.”
“Why not?!” Two streaks of tears began to spill from Zhang Yan’s face. Zhang Yan could no longer hold back her emotions and she finally started crying.
“Why can everyone except for me roll? I’ve also sacrificed a lot for this dungeon! I’ve also died several times as well! So, why can everyone except for me roll? Whyyy!?”
Li Yi ignored her. “If I say that you’re not allowed to, you’re not allowed to! Get back to rolling, everybody!”
“LI YI!!” Zhang Yan screamed at the top of her lungs and drew the attention of everyone else.
It was at this point that the eight Violent Warriors finished rolling. Crimson Madman had got the highest score, at 89, and as such, the Water-splitting Battlesword now belonged to him.
“Don’t cry, I’ll give it to you.”
Crimson Madman was a generous soul, and the moment he saw Zhang Yan crying, he was willing to hand over the sword to her.
However, before Zhang Yan had even managed to react, Li Yi interjected, “She doesn’t need it. Keep the sword to yourself. You’ll be able to get more use out of it.”
“Wehhhh—”
Zhang Yan began to wail like a spoiled brat.
She was being bullied way too hard.
“Li Yi, I hate you! I hate you! I hate you…”
Sister Windcloud Nine rushed to her side to console her. “Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Don’t cry…”
“F*ck off!”
Zhang Yan’s temper had flared, and she pushed Sister Nine aside. Following that, she gritted her teeth at Li Yi before logging off.
Crimson Madman and the others exchanged gazes, and neither of them uttered a single word.
The atmosphere was starting to feel a little awkward.
Sister Windcloud Nine mustered up her courage and stuttered, “D-D-Dark… D-D-D-Dark D-D-Dark… D-Dark… Y-Y-You’ve gone too far!”
“How have I gone too far? Her technique is awful, and it would be a waste for her to have the weapon. The only reason I’ve done so is for the sake of the team.”
Although Sister Windcloud Nine was unable to refute Li Yi’s words, she still maintained her stance. “Th-That might be true, b-but you still overdid it!”
The other eight Violent Warriors nodded their heads in agreement.
Had Sister Windcloud Nine not said anything, they would continue to remain silent. After all, they would be going against Li Yi, who to many players, was the symbol of hope.
Li Yi inquired about the situation of the other groups in the Group Channel, and from it, he learned that only two other parties had managed to defeat the second boss so far.
With Fluttering Snow Purple Water Chestnut as the vanguard, the Little Fluttering Snow Alliance squad that was led by Bai Xiaoya had easily cleared the boss. As for the other party that cleared the second boss, it was none other than the Savage Sisters Squad that was led by Chen Yang. Even more impressive about Chen Yang’s clear attempt, was that they had only suffered two casualties in the battle, which was way less than Li Yi, or even Bai Xiaoya’s attempt.
While Li Yi had expected the Little Fluttering Snow Alliance to defeat the second boss, he had not expected for Chen Yang and his nine Orc ladies to be successful.
“Huh, to think that Fatty has become a beacon of hope as well.”
Sister Windcloud Nine asked, “Do you have Underwear Girl’s handphone number? Why don’t I give her a call, so that she will come back online?”
Li Yi shook his head. “There’s no need. Trust me, she’ll return in the next five minutes.”
The party stood idly by, and as expected, Zhang Yan returned before five minutes had even gone by.
The tear streaks had already dried, and Teacher Zhang silently entered the party’s circle. It seemed that she had already forgotten about the ill-treatment that she had received earlier.
Li Yi clapped his hands. “Alright, get on your mounts! We’re heading towards the third boss!”
Woosh! Woosh! Woosh!
The party hurriedly got onto their mounts and took off into the sky.
Sister Windcloud Nine privately messaged Li Yi. “Wow, you’re amazing! How did you know that she would come online?”
“Have you forgotten who I am?”
“No no. I, now, believe you, more, than, ever!” Once she completed her sentence, Sister Windcloud Nine flashed a resplendent smile.
Sister Nine had never forgotten the miraculous incantation that had saved Brother Windcloud Nine’s life.
Once Sister Windcloud Nine finished chatting with Li Yi, she returned to Zhang Yan’s side to chat.
Despite the silly expression that Sister Nine always carried around, she was well-versed in cheering others up. All it took was a few words for a smile to return to Zhang Yan’s face. Besides that, Zhang Yan’s expression had also softened.
While Li Yi was leading his party to clear the Winged One monsterlings, news came from the Group Channel that a party had decided to pull out.
Five members of the squad had decided that it was impossible to clear the stage and left the squad. With that, the remaining five stood no chance at beating the stage as well and were forced to pull out.
Li Yi then ordered for the five remaining members to join other squads.
As for those who had abandoned their squad, Li Yi had immediately removed their names from Neo Platinum Hand.
The Wings of the Sky was a massive dungeon that contained 15 bosses in total. Even if a party had contained 50 members, they would still require a ridiculous amount of luck to make it through.
The reason Li Yi had assigned ten players to attempt a dungeon was so that he could test Neo Platinum Hand’s members’ spirit. No matter how strong a player was, if they could not muster their battle spirit, or could not cooperate, he did not need them. This was the true purpose of the trial.
The Pantheon Mystery expansion pack was about to be released, and Li Yi needed to train a group of invincible elites before that time came.
They need cooperation, technique, skill, and mutual understanding!
As time went on, more and more players began to abandon the challenge. In the end, there were a total of 51 players who had given up.
Under Li Yi’s orders, the remaining 99 players had formed two new groups, and they were to continue attempting the dungeon.
The fifteen groups had now become two, with one group containing fifty members and the other containing forty-nine.
In terms of raw strength, both teams were equally matched.
Although Li Yi was present to mediate emotions, Brother Windcloud Nine’s animosity towards Bai Xiaoya had not dwindled in the least. The moment he had a chance, he would immediately devise a method to enact revenge.
The grudge between the two players was now an irreconcilable chasm.
The dungeon run had begun once more, and both groups contained almost every top-tier player currently present in King of Pantheon. Be it clearing bosses, monsterlings, or when it came to teamwork, both sides were god-like.
Whenever they encountered mini bosses, it would only take three to five tries before each side would successfully clear it.
As for the item drops from the bosses, Li Yi had no need for them, and as such, he allowed his members to distribute it by themselves.
As the final dungeon of the Wings of the Sky pre-expansion event, the equipment that was dropped in the Wings of the Sky dungeon was absolutely top tier, despite not being part of any equipment sets. Should anyone obtain a full set of equipment from this dungeon, they would definitely be equal, or even better than those who were equipping a full set of series equipment.
In terms of choices, the mixed equipment had offered more variety of special effects and special skills. As such, this made them way better than the constant special effects and skills that came with the series equipment sets.
By the time the day had gone by, the party that Bai Xiaoya had led had already achieved 11 boss kills, whereas the one that Li Yi led had only killed ten bosses.
They were currently lagging behind by one boss.
Nearly every player had already received some form of reward, be it in terms of equipment, items, or even Gold Coins. However, there were exceptions to it as well.
Li Yi did not require anything, and Zhang Yan did not dare to take anything, and they were both among the exceptions.
“Alright, we’ll gather again at 8 o’clock tomorrow. I officially declare the party’s dismissal for now!”
With that, the two groups dispersed. However, just as Zhang Yan was about to log out, Li Yi called out to her, “Miss Zhang, I’d like you to come to my house.”
Now at the Starting Point City, within Li Yi’s dilapidated new home.
Zhang Yan glared angrily at Li Yi. “What do you want?!”
Li Yi pretended to take off his pants. “We’re both alone, so, what the F*CK do you think?” Li Yi had placed a heavy emphasis on the word, ‘f*ck’.
“D-D-Don’t you…” The color had drained from Zhang Yan’s face.
“Clang!”
Li Yi tossed an exaggerated-looking massive black greatsword onto Zhang Yan’s legs.
“This is for you.”
“This is…”
The Dragonslayer!
