Chapter 73 - Trouble In The City

n

n

nIn the living room, Wallace was listening to the news report about the recent incident that has occurred.

n

"...it is the criminal organization named by the police as Z-Company. They started their operation that could be traced back six years ago when several Sealed Mana Artifact was successfully stolen in Mayan River City.

"

nThe late evening news was also seen by many residents of Tanza City. It cleared some of their questions regarding the several disturbances that have occurred in the past days when tight security by the police and military ensued in the city. Fortunately, there was already a piece of good news included in the report.

n

"Yesterday evening, the military dispatched several magicians from Lucent Force to uproot the organization in their known area of activity outside the city. They were able to successfully eliminate the upper echelons of the Z-Company but it was confirmed that the organization is a large one consisting of thousands of members and they've only defeated a part of it, 103 members of the said criminal organization were killed including 2 mutated magicians and 28 magicians. Aside from this, 5 individuals were captured alive...

"

nThe news that was provided had enough information for the citizen's view but this news concealed some important part of the battle that has occurred. The number of losses in the military, suspected leaders of the organization, and news about the stolen Sealed Mana Artifact years ago. Some quick-minded individuals noticed that the government was still hiding something but did not try to unveil this thing. As long as they are safe from any harm and could continue living blissfully, it would be enough and there is no need to make their life more complicated.

nWallace was interested in his upgraded Divine Sense and would like to experiment more on this to have a careful look at its new limits.

n

"There's still a week left before the year-end vacation. I'll just experiment on this once I'm in the academy, for now... I should try improving the security in my place.

"

nWallace said as he will be away for quite some time and felt that the security he placed before the TMAC wasn't good enough. He doesn't wish to find his place swept clean by burglars once he returned. The Z-Company made him realize that high tier criminal organization still exist and was even close to the city.

nIn the morning, Wallace contacted his parents to introduce a reliable security company in the city. Unfortunately, they weren't familiar with the leading security company, Iron Body Association, that is situated within the city. At the very least, they suggested trying consulting the Golden Trident Group that was his previous client that had purchased his Float Drive System and fitted it in their combat suit.

n

"Alright, I'll be contacting them today.

" Wallace replied to his mother as the class will resume tomorrow, he would only have enough time to sort his premise's security today.

nJust a few minutes after his call with his mother, she phoned back telling that someone was requesting for the Float Drive System manufacturing rights and order the main magic structure.

n

"I couldn't handle another order in the meantime. I still need to prepare for the international competition.

" Wallace answered. He would earn enough money for the order yesterday which he'll complete in a week. No need to expand his production. His mother understood and ended the call.

nWallace then contacted the said security company to have assistance. He mentioned that as a magician, he already placed his defenses but would still like to improve them following the federal law's limitation. He can't make the place overly protected that could threaten his neighbors. Wallace is still willing to abide by the mandated laws.

nUpon recognizing Wallace, they treated him especially as he was told that someone will immediately visit the location and discuss the possible level of protection or security they could provide for the place.

nWallace agreed and busied himself. The representative from the company will still visit him in the afternoon anyway.

n

"Ma'am Louise Tales, I'm Marvin Cummings from the Zairus Magician's Congress. I know that you still need a rest but I would like to clarify some information we received. I hope that you can cooperate with us.

"

nA man in a suit politely asked Miss Tales that were still recuperating in the hospital. He wore a six-winged emblem in his left chest indicating his status as a member of the congress.

nThe Zairus Magician's Congress handles all magic affiliated concerns within the country. Under them were organizations like National Magic Trade and Industry or also known as NMTI, Ministry of Magic Education and even the Lucent Force, a special military battalion consisting of best magicians in the country were operating by the instructions given by the Congress.

nTheir presence here did not surprise Miss Tales at all. There were a total of 6 people in the room including 2 other subordinates of Marvin. Aside from that, the student council president, Aaron Schmidt, and Headmaster Percival is surprisingly within the room accompanying Louise Tales.

nLouise looked at the two companions she has in the room. She sighed and nodded to Marvin in agreement.

n

"According to your report, a member of Halevey Holdings was found together with an upper echelon of the Z-Company.

" Marvin said slowly and without waiting for Louise's response, he continued.

n

"You've only found out about this while investigating the disappearance of an artifact, Hallowed Eye. This Sealed Mana Artifact that was stolen six years ago in Mayan River Hall left some clues which you were able to follow for months but you've been discovered few days before you made your report to your superiors.

"

nThis time, Marvin looked at Percival before turning his head to Aaron. He was aware of the headmaster's identity but for Aaron, he was only aware that the person was an important individual within the Lucent Force organization. They were the ones who made the complete report to the congress.

nLouise nodded to confirm what the former had said. Her black hair was tied and she still has a pale complexion. She looked weak but her matured beauty could still not be hidden. She knows that Marvin was just validating the report so she's just waiting for the officer to ask his question.

n

"The individual you've found that is related to Halevey Holdings. Can you confirm if this is the same person?

"

nMarvin showed a picture of a young adult, about 25 years old in his device. The man has blond hair and an unkempt face. There's growing beard and mustache that wasn't cleanly shaved. The scar on his lower left eye was his dominant feature.

nLouise could not be wrong at this and nodded at the officer.

n

"Yes. He's the person.

"

nMarvin sighed after confirming. He asked a few more questions to validate before leaving the room.

n

"Do you think you can return on teaching next year?

" Percival suddenly asked Louise after the group of officers from the congress left.

nLouise only rolled her eyes at the headmaster before returning to rest.

nAaron sighed at this. Their investigation had gotten even more complicated because of Halevey Holdings' involvement in the case. Ms. Louise Tales was a secret agent of Lucent Force that was assigned to investigate the Sealed Mana Artifact, this military battalion is more than what meets the eye. Her status as an instructor is just one of her several identities as an informant for the organization.

nA few minutes later the two remaining guys also left the room to let Louise have a rest peacefully.

n

"We were now told to keep out of the case. But as a young master of Lucent Force, what's your plan?

" Percival smiled and asked suddenly, he is walking in front of Aaron and didn't look back at the latter even after asking the question.

n

"They still need us to work as a median between the Traceless Hands and the Congress, since they've seen how important the Float Drive System is and got rejected, we'll work something out.

" Aaron seriously answered. He wouldn't let someone easily go especially if they hurt someone important to him.

n
