Chapter 104 My Kill
n
n
nA smug smile appeared on Harry’s face when he noticed the beast’s struggle.
nWhile he could have ended it quicker by using a skill like Wind slash or Wind needle, he didn’t since he could still sense a few presences hiding behind a bunch of thick grass; watching him.
nIt was only due to his high perception that he was able to sense them and also because of the use of Mana sense.
nHe couldn’t pinpoint how many they were since his focus was quite disrupted but he doubted that they were more than two.
nFortunately, none of them was at the second mana core stage with what he sensed.
nHe was here as “Harry” and he couldn’t showcase any ability stronger than his supposed mana core stage so as to not arouse any suspicions.
nHe would have loved to rush towards that person, however, he couldn’t do that as he still had to finish off the mana beast.
nThe Lightning around his body danced even more furiously as Harry suddenly shot towards the pig.
n“Lightning Ball!” He shouted as he launched a blitzing ball of lightning towards the pig.
nJust as the lightning ball flew to the mana beast, a medium sized fireball suddenly shot out from the side.
nIt whooshed through the air with great speed, leaving a small trail of flames behind.
nHowever, Harry’s Lightning Ball turned out to be faster as it closed in on the beast first, hitting its shoulder and ending its life.
nThe blazing fireball hit it just after, causing a small explosion that sent the body flying.
nSeeing this, a slight smile appeared on Harry’s place.
nHe wasn’t surprised in the least by what just happened, in fact, he had already expected it.
nIt seemed like whoever threw the fireball was trying to steal his kill, but the person had failed since Harry’s attack was what ended the beast’s life.
nThat was confirmed with the notification that flashed through Harry’s eyes.
n1 Scaled Pig Killed
n 7000EXP
nHarry didn’t focus on the notification for too long, he stared in the direction where the fireball flew from, waiting for the Elementalist to come out.
nJust as he expected, the grass where the Elementalist was hiding rustled and an average height boy with short black hair came out of it.
nHe had a slight frown on his face as he stared at Harry.
nComing out after him was another boy with short green braids, however, unlike the first person, he had a smug smile on his face as he stared at Harry.
nOne thing tbat caught Harry’s attention was their uniform—they were in their regular academy uniforms.
nIt was a mix of blue and red, however what made Harry recognise it was the symbol at the side of the top.
nIt was the symbol of a magical academy located in the neighbouring city to Vernil—Rittah academy.
nThe academy’s name was named after the city.
nRittah city was an even smaller city compared to Vernil, the beast forest acted as a boundary of some sort between the two cities since it stood between them.
nHarry was somewhat glad that he didn’t come here with his academy uniform or anything that might easily give away his identity as a student of Vane academy.
nThe relationship between the two academies wasn’t good in the slightest.
nThey saw each other as rivals, or rather Rittah academy students saw those of Vane academy as rivals.
nThough they were both small cities, Vane academy was seen as the better one since they had more talented students and international recognition. 𝘦𝘯𝑜𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝗇𝓔t
nThis made the students of Rittah envious, it was this envy and jealousy that later developed into full blown rivalry between the academies.
nWithout even waiting to clear the pieces of grass on his hair, he confidently stepped forwards and announced: “The kill is ours!”
nA slight smirk appeared on Harry’s face when he heard the green haired boy’s words. It was just as he had expected; they were here to steal his kill.
nHe took a step forward while glaring that the one who spoke. “No, it’s mine. My attack was what ended its life.”
nThe face of the boy with braids turned slightly red, he was about to take another step forward but he was stopped by his friend.
n“We have been chasing that beast for a while now, and we’ve finally killed it; you should just release the body to us.” The black haired boy said.
nHis own approach seemed rather calm and respectful, unlike his friend but that didn’t mean Harry would just give them the mana beast’s body and core.
n“You could keep the body, just hand over the beast core.” His last words seemed to have angered the green haired boy, who gave him a sharp glare, however, he ignored him.
nIf possible he wanted to resolve this as peaceful as possible, while also getting his request.
nHe wasn’t lying about he and his friend previously facing facing the beast, but he wasn’t saying the complete truth either.
nThey did try to fight it but failed as the beast ended up being too strong for them, so they ran away and hoped to meet weaker mana beasts.
nIt was only when they gave up hope that they saw Harry fighting against it—and eventually defeating it. He knew from what he saw that Harry was quite strong, so he wanted to avoid a fight with him if possible.
n“I killed this beast… and I’ll keep it.” Harry said with an slight frown on his face.
nThe Lightning around his body suddenly started moving and cackling furiously as he prepared himself to attack.
nHe had no interest of bargaining over a beast he killed himself, whether they had chased it down here or not wasn’t his business.
nThough their story about chasing the beast might be true, considering that the beast’s health had dropped a little when he met it, it all didn’t matter to him.
n“Fine! That’s it!” Seeing such a hostile reaction, the green haired didn’t waste any time and suddenly dashed forward.
n“Fireball!”
n*****
nI have finally completed my exams! Hopefully, the result is good. I didn’t write in the last week because I was studying very hard for the exam and now that it’s over, I can focus back on writing.
