nThis particular group caused the audience to erupt into another round of cheers and murmurings, every person eager to see the rank one Elementalist in the academy fight.

n—”Who do you think will qualify among this group?”

n—”Of course it’s Susan! None of them could even stand a chance against her!

nDiscussions rose up quickly among the students watching the fight, all of them convinced that Susan would easily win.

nAmong the students in group two, there was also another elite student. It was a blonde haired Elementalist, with thick brows and brown eyes.

nHis name was Jones Gaffer, and he was a peak stage two Elementalist, rank sixteenth on the elite rankings.

nThe presence of two elite Elementalist in one free-for-all fight was what excited the audience the most.

nWhile majority of them were sure Susan would win, after all, they had witnessed her strength many times before, and it wasn’t by sheer luck that she was able to hold her rank one position even after three years.

nThere were still a few who felt like an unexpected turn of events could happen, and Jones could end up being the only one to qualify from the group.

n***

nA few minutes later,

nThe students finally arrived on the stage, each of them taking a position.

nSusan positioned herself at the left end of the group. She took on a lax stance, and with an indifferent expression on her face, she slowly stared at the other students standing around her.

nCold sweat dripped on the back of the other Elementalists when they felt Susan’s gaze on them, and they subconsciously took a step back.

nDespite her not actively releasing her mana pressure, just being in her presence alone was rather intimidating for them.

nJones, the other elite student in the group gnashed his teeth together in frustration.

n‘I managed to advance to this stage.. only to meet Susan Grey in my team, just great. What an unlucky day.’ He thought, with a deep frown on his face.

nHowever, he still didn’t plan on giving up right away. Whether he liked it or not, he was going to give it his best.

nAnd with all the group members ready! Let the fight begin!

nThe instructors voice rang out across the stage.

nThe moment the announcement was heard, the Elementalists suddenly turned their gazes on Susan.

n“Arrr!!!” They all shouted, immediately charging towards her, while also channeling their spells.

nJones tailed behind them, hoping to get an opportunity to land an attack on the grey-haired Elementalist, using the group of students as distractions.

nSusan simply remained in the same position, as if she couldn’t care less about the people running towards her.

n“Light arrows!” She mumbled, without even stretching her hand or making any hand signs.

nInstantly, four bright white arrows materialized in front of her, before suddenly shooting towards the Elementalists with astonishing speed.

nOut of all the arrows, one of them was a little larger than the others, and the light around it shined brighter also.

nThat particular arrow shot towards Jones, the stage two Elementalist in the group.

nWithin the blink of an eye, the arrows closed in on all the Elementalists.

nIt pierced through their abdomens easily, and the force behind the hit sent them flying backwards.

nTheir bodies flew in the air for a few seconds before crashing back down unto the hard ground.

nThe speed of the arrows were so fast that none of them could even follow it. To them, one moment she was standing in front of them, and the next, light arrows were slammed into their bodies.

nJones tried to block the attack, or at least dodge it, but before he could even channel his mana to cast a defensive or enhancement spell, the attack had already hit him.

nA loud grunt left his lips, as he felt blood spurt out of his stomach. The force behind the hit sent him flying, with blood spurting out of his belly.

n‘So fast! And she didn’t even use any hand signs…’. He thought in between gritted teeth, as his body crashed back down on the hard ground.

nDespite trying desperately to hold unto his consciousness, he ended up passing out due to the pain.

nOut of all the arrows, one of them was a little larger than the others, and the light around it shined brighter also.

nThat particular arrow was what shot towards Jones, the stage two Elementalist in the group.

nSince he was the most powerful in the group after her, and the one most likely to give her problems, Susan made sure to channel more mana into the arrow that was aimed for him, in order to also knock him out.

nAnd with an astonishing performance, we have the winner in group 2! Susan Grey!

nThe audience immediately bursted into cheers of excitement. Though they felt a little disappointed that the fight ended so quickly, they were still amazed by Susan’s power.

n—”Susan!”

n—”Susan!”

nDifferent chants of her name reverberated around the hall, as her ‘fans’ started shouting praises of her.

nSusan didn’t say any thing after winning, she only turned towards the stage’s exit, and started walking out.

nJust before she exited the stage, her eyes turned to the audience, in search of a certain brown haired student.

nHowever, she sighed in disappointed when she couldn’t find him. With the audience jumping up and down in excitement, finding just one student among them was definitely difficult.

nShe hadn’t realize it yet, but she was already starting to see Harry as a competition.

nMeanwhile, a slight smile appeared on Harry’s face as he watched Susan leave the stage.

n‘She really is strong, I’m quite excited to face her again.’ Harry thought. It was just quite unfortunate that he couldn’t show his full strength in the ranking event.

n‘I would have to limit the skills to only the ‘tier one’ skills.’ Harry thought, before letting out a low hiss. While it was quite annoying, it wasn’t like he had any choice, but he still took solace in the fact that it would only be temporary.

nThe noise in the hall slowly died down within a few minutes, and another set of names were displayed on the huge yellow board.

n***

nAbout thirty minutes had passed since Susan qualified from group 2, and during those minutes, group three to six had already participated in the free-for-all event, and four more people had qualified to the final stage of the ranking event.

nAmong those four qualifiers, two were top 10 elites in the academy, while the other two were regular students, who managed to come out on top after a tough fight with the other four students in their group.

nThe latter weren’t weak in any way, and were both late stage two Elementalists. Since they qualified to the final stage, it was clear that they would become a part of the new elite students.

nHowever, the ones that caught Harry’s attention the most were the top ten Elementalists.

nTheir names were Tyron Nolan and Yasmine Winston, with the former being at rank five and the later at rank seven. Their elemental power was nothing to scoff at also, with them being early stage three Elementalists.

nThey easily defeated their

nJust then, the names of the next group was displayed on the yellow board, and when Harry saw the list of names in the group, a light smile appeared on his lips.

n‘Finally, it’s time for group seven.’ He thought. Most of the students seated close to him kept turning their gazes to him, but he ignored them all, acting like they were non-existent.

n‘Wow, two elite students.’ Harry thought, before slowly standing up from his seat, heading for the stage.

nHarry stood on the stage with a slight smile on his face, as he made a few stretches.

nStanding around his were four other students, of which included Farhen and also Dan.

nAfter the duels, Dan’s elite rank had finally rose up to 20th, while Farhen’s had dropped to 13th, as he lost the 12th rank to Nathan.

nFrom the amount of mana oozing from Dan, it seemed like he had finally managed to break through to the second stage.

n“Wipe that grin off your face, don’t think you’ll win easily.” Farhen said with a frown on his face as he stared at Harry.

nHe felt like Harry was mocking him, especially with how lax he seemed.

nSince his loss to Nathan, he had been very frustrated, and to make things worse, everything in the academy just seemed to remind him about his loss, and failure.

n‘First everyone kept talking about my loss to Nathan, and now this stage one Elementalist thinks he could defeat me because he got lucky against Ria… frustrating… I’ll put you in your place soon.’ He thought, as he gnashed his teeth against each other.

nDan’s thoughts were also similar, but he was still wary of Harry. ‘He managed to beat Ria… I can’t take him lightly.’

nHowever, unknown to the two elites, the reason Harry was smiling was completely different from what they thought.

nHarry was smiling, because of the notification that suddenly appeared in front of his eyes. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
