Chapter 26 Training Hall[1]

n-Three days later

nHarry’s brows furrowed slightly as he slowly walked into the academy.

nHe noticed a lot of students were staring at him. The faces of a few of them—mostly normal students—showed a slight trace of fear, the image of Harry crushing Han was still fresh in their minds. The rest still stared at him with contempt though, to them, Harry was simply lucky. Some didn’t even believe it.

nNot all students were present when Han attacked Harry. Most elementalists and combat mages were occupied in their respective halls at the time, therefore most of the people who witnessed what actually transpired were regular students.

nAlthough the incident happened three days, it was still fresh in their minds. At first, when some students heard that Han was suspended, they didn’t believe it. However, the sudden absence of the elite student for about three days proved the suspension claims.

nAs for Harry, he simply walked into the academy with a slight smile on his face. He didn’t know why but for some reason, the expression on the students’ faces made him happy.

nHe ignored the weird stares he was still receiving and started walking towards the lecture hall.

n—A few hours later

nHarry exhaled as he stepped out of the lecture hall. Today’s activities ended early. This was because of the parent-teacher(instructor) meeting that was going on.

nThe academy activities ended earlier whenever this meeting was held. Students weren’t allowed to participate in this meeting as it was strictly between the instructors(teachers) and the parents—though some students would still wait for their parents.

nHarry’s parents were also present, however, they weren’t here for Harry but for Trent. This was something that used to bother him, however, this time he didn’t care. If anything, he was happy. At least, he would be able to complete his quests in peace.

n‘Quests…’ Harry thought. ‘I still have one quest to complete… can’t I just do that in the academy?’

nHe checked the ‘quests’ through the system’s interface to monitor his progress.

nHe was planning on completing the second quest at home by lifting the closet. For some reason, the system didn’t count the weight of the sofa anymore.

nIt started the previous day when Harry tried to complete his quests by lifting the three-seater sofa, for some reason, there was no progress at all.

nThe previous daily quest was for him to lift a total of 1000kg, he completed it by lifting the small closet in his room instead—it was slightly heavier than the sofa.

nAlthough the closet was slightly heavier than the sofa, it was still very easy for Harry to lift. This was because Harry’s strength had increased considerably, things like couches weren’t difficult to lift anymore.

nHarry guessed that the system wanted him to lift heavier objects. So that was what he planned to do today—lift heavier objects.

n‘Maybe I should visit the training hall.’ Harry said inwardly. The training hall or training centre as some students like to call it was basically a hall meant for students to test out their skills against one another. Academy events like duels and the yearly ranking competition were also held in this hall.

nAlthough it was managed and owned by the academy, It was located right beside the academy.

nUnlike, the element and combat halls that only accepted their respective students(for element halls: those with the said element, for combat hall: combat mages), anyone could use the training hall, as long as they were a student of the academy—and that included regular students.

nSince it was basically a place where students could train and test out their skills against one another, no restriction was placed on the type of students that could get in.

nIt was also free so Harry didn’t have to pay any money to get into the hall. Students only paid for the guidance of an instructor during their training, they didn’t have to pay to use any of the equipment.

nSince it was purely meant for duelling and training, it had all the necessary equipment for both Elementalists and combat mages.

nThis wasn’t the first time Harry would be going to the training hall. During his first year in the academy, Harry visited the hall. He was excited to witness the different spells and abilities of other students.

nUnfortunately, that turned out to be one of his worst experiences in the academy. He became the target of other students in the hall and was beaten up and thrown down. That day, he left the hall with a black eye and other injuries. Since then, he never went anywhere close to the training hall.

nA slight frown appeared on Harry’s face as the memory flashed in his mind. A sigh left his lips as he muttered, “Things are different now… I would never go back to being the coward I once was.” 𝙚𝙤𝙫𝙚𝒍.𝒐𝙧𝙜

nHarry focused on the academy entrance in front of him and continued walking forward.

nSince the entrance was just opposite the lecture hall, it didn’t take long for him to exit the academy.

nA sigh left his lips as he looked to the side. Although, the training hall was the next building after the academy, Harry would still have to walk for a few minutes. This was because the academy was very large and its high and sturdy fences were also very wide. Even trekking to other halls would take about fifteen minutes.

nHarry wasn’t really bothered about that though. After all, with his new stats running for a few minutes, even without the use of accelerate wasn’t difficult or stressful for him.

nAfter running for a few minutes, Harry finally arrived at a large black gate, the gate’s structure and design were similar to that of the academy. On top of the entrance was a large sign on which was boldly written ‘Vane Training centre’.

nFour muscular men stood at the entrance, they all had stone-cold expressions as they stared at Harry.

nKnowing what to do, Harry walked towards them. He dipped his hand into his uniform pocket and brought out his student ID card. He gave it the man nearest to him.

nThe man looked at Harry weirdly for a few seconds before bringing out a small button-like object from his pocket. He held the ID card with one hand and then placed the button-like object above the card.

nFrom the object’s centre, a tiny green light reflected and gently radiated outward toward the card. It took a moment to scan it before emitting a low beep.

nA weird expression appeared on his face as he passed the card back to Harry. He then gestured for Harry to walk into the building.

nHarry gave him a slight nod before walking into the entrance.

nWithin it was an orange five-storey building. The structure and layout of the building were comparable to those of the element halls, with the height being noticeably lower. The building was very wide despite having only a few stories.

nHarry walked towards the building and then climbed the stairs. He paused when he got to a large double door, he brought out his student ID card and then placed it on the white screen above the knob.

nThe door slowly slid open producing a low whirring sound.
