Chapter 31 Finally Free[1]

nHarry sat down on the cold hard floor of his room, his eyes shone with delight as he stared at the wads of cash in his hands.

nThe total amount of money he got from all the students was four hundred and fifty thousand! That was the highest amount of money he had ever held!

nHe got four hundred thousand credits from the other students who took part in the bet and fifty thousand from Justin. Bringing the total sum to four hundred and fifty thousand credits.

nAlthough, this wasn’t much in the eyes of millionaires and billionaires, Harry was still pretty rich—even though he received the money from other students.

nEven his parents couldn’t gain this amount of money easily, His mother earned around thirty thousand credits per month from her restaurant while his father earned about eighty thousand credits every month from working as a transporter for an artifact manufacturing company.

nHowever his thoughts was only occupied with one thing. ‘I finally have enough money to move out of this house and become independent!’ Harry thought.

nBefore today, he had made some research about how could he could rent apartments, he knew he would have to leave his parent house one day or another—he had never been comfortable in the house to begin with.

nThe amount of money with him currently was definitely more than enough for him to rent an apartment.

nHe already knew where he could rent an apartment, he planned on going to Greenfield housing agency.

nIt was located at the southwest part of Vernil. It was an agency that was quite popular in Vernil city, although they only dealt with ‘normal houses’, It didn’t matter to Harry. According to his research, that was one of the cheapest places to rent a house in Vernil.

nHe had seen the advertisement for the agency on a few billboards around the academy, he still remembered the address and description of the building so he would have no problem locating it.

n‘Today would be the best time to do everything.’ Harry thought. Since the academy activities ended early and his parents wouldn’t be home for another hour or so, he had enough time to do whatever he wanted.

nHe transferred the money back into the storage device and stood up.

nHarry walked towards the small closet at the edge of his room, he opened and brought out a small dull white stone.

nHe held it at eye-level and stared intensely at the object with a complicated expression. His eyes flickered as the same quest flashed in front of him.

nWhat he was holding wasn’t a stone but was the beast core. Since it was still covered by ‘mana conceal’, no one could sense the mana in it. It would only look like an ugly white stone to others, only Harry knew how precious and valuable this ‘ugly white stone’ was.

nA slight smile appeared on his face as he placed the beast core into his pocket.

nHe dusted his clothes and then left the room.

nAs Harry walked down the road, he contemplated whether to use public transport or not. Although he had enough money to do so, he was already used to trekking or running.

nAfter a brief internal debate, Harry decided to board a cab. It would be quite difficult to get public transport at this time of the day as they were mostly free during mornings and evenings.

nHe went to the nearest taxi rank and then boarded a taxi.

nAfter describing his destination to the driver and also agreeing on the price, Harry made himself comfortable at the passenger seat. He took a minute to admire the inside scenery of the car before finally looking out through the side window.

nHe couldn’t deny, the view of the seemingly vanishing buildings through the car window was quite entrancing.

nThis was the first time in about six years he had gotten into a car, while he was younger(before the affinity test), his father used to drop him off at the academy and even drive him to places using his car, however all that changed when they(his parents) discovered he could never amount to anything in the current age and time.

nThe model of the taxi and current cars were a lot more advanced than those of six years ago, so the view had even gotten better. ‘Guess they weren’t wrong when they said cherish the little joys and happiness in life…’ Harry mumbled inwardly.

nHowever, Harry wasn’t given enough time to enjoy the ride as the car suddenly halted.

n‘Huh? That was fast.’ Harry thought. The journey only took about eight minutes which was a lot shorter than he expected given the distance between his house and his destination.

nHe sighed and then paid the driver before alighting from the taxi.

nImmediately he came down from the taxi, what appeared in his line of sight was a small building of about four stories. On top of it was boldly written in cursive letters ‘Greenfield housing agency’.

nSome other forms of advertisement about the agency was placed on and around the building.

nSince the taxi dropped him directly at his destination which was right in front of the housing agency, Harry didn’t need to stress himself unnecessarily in finding the building.

nHarry calmly walked into the building while admiring the agency design. The moment he walked into the building, he was hit with a huge wave of cold, Harry’s body subconsciously shivered.

nThe floor was tiled and adorned with beautiful flora patterns, the patterns were also on the bottom part of the wall making it seem like ‘the flowers’ were trying to climb the wall.

nHe noticed that the agency appeared to be quite scanty as only a few people could be seen roaming about.

nLuckily, he found the receptionist at a counter on the east side of the room.

n***

nHarry calmly looked at the brown door in front of him. The receptionist redirected him to this office after hearing his request, although he was slightly surprised at her indifference to his age and appearance, he didn’t put much thought to it.

nHe slowly raised his hand and gently knocked on the door.
